I disagree with you on the leafs rebuild. The leafs handed out their contracts to the big 3 before the 2019/20 season and then Covid hit and the salary cap became flat. They were unable to retain players like Hyman and Kadri. It was more bad luck than anything.

@@Leafswin Ok. Fair enough. But I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing. When do you feel that the Leafs rebuild (Shanaplan) started?

I would say when they traded Kessel and Phanuef. Matthews, Nylander and Marner entered the league in 2016/17. They have never missed the playoffs. They have troubles in the playoffs, but I think the biggest problem is goaltending. Hopefully they have solved it.

@@Leafswin That can't be when the rebuild started. A rebuild is when you tear down your current roster and build with young players. It can't start when you already have the young players in your organization.
You should go back and look at the moves that Toronto made starting when Shanahan was hired.
Goaltending isn't Toronto's problem. Proven by the fact that you think they've solved the problem by, essentially, doing nothing. If adding a 30-year old career backup solves your problems, then you probably didn't really have a problem to begin with.

Check out Stolarz carer numbers. He hasn’t been given a chance. Woll has started 4 playoff games, all elimination games. He has won 3 and lost the other in overtime. Campbell is out of league now. I’m not saying the problem is totally solved but they are definitely better. The stats this year says so.

@ I have. He has never played more than 28 games in a season.
Goaltending has never been Toronto’s problem.
