Ever since I was a kid, Durian is one of my favorite fruit. We ate durian every year when it was in season around my area. And yeah, usually there was more durian flesh than what we first thought
Here are some durians for first timers. Musang King durians: Yellow flesh. One of most popular durians and well loved. They are really creamy andtaste bitter at first but have a really sweet honeylike aftertaste. XO durians: Pale yellow flesh. Ideal for beer or wine lovers. Soft creamy texture with an slight alcoholic taste. Red prawns: A must try one of a kind durian. Unlike other durians they have an orange flesh instead of yellow. But they are creamier and sweeter than an average durian. But they have a slight, egg yolk like taste at first. D13: An ideal durian for beginners. A similar color to Red Prawn durians. They are sweet, not very fibrous and the taste is not very strong. But still keeps its creamy texture. Green bamboo: Deep or light yellow flesh. Unlike most durian flesh, they are crunchy. But extremely sweet. I heard that the scent of durians are loved and hated by different people depending on their reaction to durians. Some say it smells like rotten cheese, garbage bins, etc. To me it smells really sweet and delicious. Depending on what you think of durians, you gotta try em urself.
Durian there is $100... Meanwhile here in the Philippines, durian trees are literally scattered on the side of the roads and people won't even mind if you steal some
I like it freezed too but avid durian eater like me would notice the change in taste(they taste less intense) when not eaten immediately after opened up. It felt like a waste especially after you paid too much money for one.
@@missyidontgiveacrap9939 I’ve had it a few years back while on vacation and if I remember correctly, the texture is a bit like super thick cream with a thin skin on top. Fruit itself has a hint of sweetness to it. I kind of liked it and it didn’t even smell. Like at all! Although my breath did after eating it haha. If you ever try it, don’t eat too much in one go. Like I did. It’s so rich you’ll feel a bit sick if you eat too much.
They did a great job. But I suggest cutting through in the middle in a horizontal way rather than cutting it vertically several times. It would make you see how many compartments are there. It's a go like one and for all.

licking it for hours with your tongue? hitting your face against it? biting it open with your teeth? ripping it open with your bare hands? lmao yeah i guess using a knife is worse than all of those
Durian is considered one of the more acquired tastes in the fruits section, and considering they're expensive, dangerous to harvest, and a lot of public spaces and planes hate the terrible smell, it's hard to find if you don't have direct contact to a grower. A lot of people overestimate the toughness of a durian, since they don't feel very tough, just spiky, but if one huts you directly on the head, it'll most likely be a trip to the hospital, if not the morgue.
durian oddly enough is loved by those who took the risk to take the stench lol. some just didn't like it because of their mindset of " stink food, not good"
Ah yes, this fruit have nearly sent me (literally) to the afterlife. It was a windy day and durian season and that bitch said WEEE down my shoulder it felt like someone smashed you a fking morningstar. Thank god it was small
@RAZEEN RADHIULLAH BIN MOHD ROZAIHAN Moe Ah yes...It's all capitalism's fault...It couldn't possibly have been caused by hyperinflation, and mass global shortages (on literally everything), due to the entire world being shut down for the past year...Or by a combination of extended, and highly irrational refusals to reopen, completely insane government "stimulus packages", and abysmal policies...The reality is that true capitalism would never have allowed a shut down in the first place (see every other pandemic, throughout history, for reference)... Also, before you mention all of the allegedly "socialist" European countries, I'll address that point as well...Much like the US (pre-2020), those are ALL examples of capitalist countries, with socialist programs, and there is a vast difference between the two...Hell, even China isn't truly communist...Several decades ago, they realized that it just wasn't working, so they transitioned to authoritarian capitalism instead...
As an asian living in Singapore, i absolutely LOVE durian. That's why I'm sad to see people from other countries not enjoying it. Y'all should definitely try eating durian from a country that grows it (like Malaysia) trust me, eating it fresh makes a lotttt of difference. I've eaten durians that were old and trust me, i can see why people wouldn't like it. Obviously it's not for everyone, but i feel like it's only fair if you've tried one IN an asian country
Don't be sad we don't like it lol. I'm not going to be sad if you don't like Pantera (assuming you don't like Pantera now that I thinkabout it....) We're just different sis, nuttin wrong with that
Yeah. Durian is not supposed to be cut open, they are supposed to be cracked open like some kinda nut. Cutting it open makes it possible you left some in there unknowingly, never happen if you crack them open.
Hello, malaysian here, an advice for you, to make things easier, you need to poke at the bottom of the durian with large knife, because, as you can see, all the compartments were unified down there, once you poke it, you can easily separate each compartment which usually contains 3 to 4 durian flesh, fun fact, if you feel heartburn after eating lots of durians, you can make one of the compartment as a cup to drink some water, and surprisingly, that's the only amount of water that you need to drink, the volume of the compartment is sufficient to relieve the heartburn, otherwise, lots of water can cause you bloating

Didn't know they existed either till I watched Carmen Sandiego on Netflix

Durian is considered one of the more acquired tastes in the fruits section, and considering they're expensive, dangerous to harvest, and a lot of public spaces and planes hate the terrible smell, it's hard to find if you don't have direct contact to a grower. A lot of people overestimate the toughness of a durian, since they don't feel very tough, just spiky, but if one huts you directly on the head, it'll most likely be a trip to the hospital, if not the morgue.
durian oddly enough is loved by those who took the risk to take the stench lol. some just didn't like it because of their mindset of " stink food, not good"

@@XArbiterZ it's 1 durian for a full heal
@RAZEEN RADHIULLAH BIN MOHD ROZAIHAN Moe
Ah yes...It's all capitalism's fault...It couldn't possibly have been caused by hyperinflation, and mass global shortages (on literally everything), due to the entire world being shut down for the past year...Or by a combination of extended, and highly irrational refusals to reopen, completely insane government "stimulus packages", and abysmal policies...The reality is that true capitalism would never have allowed a shut down in the first place (see every other pandemic, throughout history, for reference)...
