I have story for this
Maybe Wiiy and Phone guy were walking around the BFP island, and then they stumbled into the elimated box, after that they saw a liquid coming out and then Wiiy got curious and try to touch it but Phone guy push him out of the way and got corrupted instead. After that Paintbrush come looking for the two and saw Wiiy trying to make Phone guy snap out of his corrupted state and lend Wiiy a hand, but in the progress of doing so Phone guy threw a blob of corruption at Wiiy making him a partly corrupted. After that they escaped to tell they other about the corruption
