Qurupeco should return one day. He is too unique to be forgotten and left in the 3rd gen
And agnaktor, I miss him :(
How to make it fair:
- Peco calls in aid of other monsters on the map, and when that moster arrives, it takes a back seat from attacking the hunter and instead focuses entirely on buffing the ally monster it called in.
- Make it have a songs which other than buffing monster defense, attack, and healing, also sends them into instant rage mode or become immune to wirebug/wyvernriding.
@@user-wt8zh1bx8y So a its a Hunting Horn main?
@@DrunkedOwly *Please no*
@@electroshockgamer2733 why, he was epic
I think Fatalis being a normal ass dragon makes it far more menacing than any fantasy like design could ever try and be. Like you expect some Xenojiiva type shit to be the strongest being in the MH universe but it’s actually just a typical dragon. That can and will kill anything it sees.
Agreed
Welp, tell that to Safi'Jiiva, that thing can not only face the freakin' Fatalis itself but also I like how it kinda looks like an ordinary european myths' dragon but at the same time it feels like a really unique monster
@@thisisnami6054 safi still loses though. If rocks can survive safis super move then I’m sure fatalis can
@@-TheLegendHimself- those rocks are covered in safi s own skin, thats the only thing that can resist that explosión
@@erickdenis3265 Time for fatalist to start melting on himself safi scales lol
I love Namielle's design so much, such a cool concept and execution. The effort that went into the design and animation of the wings is ridiculous and my favorite part. A small part of me wishes it didn't have such a freaky looking face but that completely tracks with deep sea creatures - they're fucking bizarre and scary looking so it totally works.
Thank you man :)
I just love her lol small face - so goofy and sweet🧡 she will always be my queen in this series
Kameleos' design is so perfectly goofy
All the other elders are these superpowered living tanks, while Kameleos just goes 'haha get licked, imma go invisible now" and it's so perfect
It even has that little prancing dance before some attacks.
It's really sad how goofy monsters are almost exclusively at the very start of the game (Arzuros, Tetranadon, Great Jagras etc.). Chameleos is the only late game monster that isn't trying to be cool, which is really refreshing.
@@SpottedHares IT'S SO CUTE
Wait Brachy is based on a missile? I always thought it was a stereotypical Japanese delinquent given the pompurdor like horn and basically trying to fist fight you, and the licking of the arms is to mimic the action you see in anime where they wipe their thumb across the nose
Could be a mixture of both? Definitely one hell of a combination
Honestly as aviation nerd I just love the design of Valstrax. A literal fighter jet dragon. How it’s chest and wings work like an engine and so on. It’s held my #1 favorite monster since his reveal.
For those who thinks that Brachy is overthetop and that it makes no sense :
I remind you that Brachy has to survive and fight against living fortress like : Lavasioth,Agnaktor, Gravios, Uragaan. I'm not surprised that once (many century ago) a basic brute wyvern evolve into an explosive boxer to help himself survive into the volcanoes( They are OP when you think about it, particularly Black Gravios, this one can just compete with a freaking Akantor). For me it makes sense that Brachy has blunt arm to help him rivalize with these monsters. In fact, the design would still work if he hadn't his slime, but it would be more boring.
I'll go even farther and say that Brachydios' physiology is a direct result of an evolutionary arms race between hunter and prey.
The main prey items for Brachydios are giant armored megafauna like the Uragaan and the Gravios family. The heavy fists and symbiosis with the slime molds are likely a reuslt of its ancestors needing more and more powerful arsenals to crack open the shells of Uragann and Gravios' ancestors. Which also at the same time evolved to become harder and thicker.
Aylia from ragegamming would like to know your location to discuss our Lord and Savior brach-daddy.
My problem with brachydios is that why is he a carnivore? think its design would make more sense if he ate plants or ores or something but since he eats meat there's no way his prey can't hear his big ass walk at them
@@ivangreat4885 Because its prey are Uraagan and Gravios/Basarios. Slow-moving but heavily armored lithovores.
I have no problem with brachy I think it's design is good because if you think about I know this is stated in the comment it has to use slime mold to survive it isn't born with it so it adapts to it because it's parent drop the slime when there around so that the baby brachy is in danger even at such a young age and it's prey are heavily armour it just makes the brachy just my favourite monster because it's a boxer with slime on its fists
My personal favourite monster design for some reason is Jyuratodus he just looks so outlandish he's literally a big ass fish.
That's literally it
You should see Gobul! A giant amphibious Anglerfish Leviathan.
I would like to introduce you to Plesioth
@@just_a_guy9688 fish Wyvern with a shark head
Cephadrome, fish Wyvern with a HAMMERHEAD shark head.
I honestly say tetranadon is the best designed monster in mh. Delicate combination of frog, platypus, sumo wrestler(to give it some cute interesting personality) and naturalistic version of a Kappa which itself perfectly relates to Rise's theme of Japanese mythological creatures
Kappas were known for liking Sumo
I think one of my favorite monster designs from the 5th generation has to be safi for the simple fact that it's so utterly basic compared to it's former xeno appearance, you go from cosmic blue dragon with flowy wings and blue bioenergy radiating across it's body to a ridged red dragon, and I love it. I'm pretty confident this may be the case because the jiivas derive their biggest amounts of bioenergy from the death of elder dragons, hence when xeno fully forms into safi, it only makes sense that a creature that was made from the death of dragons would come to resemble one itself. After all, there's pretty heavy implications the jiivas aren't of this world.
Honestly I Hated Safi for the Same Reason lol. I was Really Hoping for Some Kind of Flowy Celestial God Looking Thing that Looks Like it Just Hopped Out of Nebula or Something, but it was just Kinda Fatalis with a More Boring Body Structure. My Opinion of Course, No Disrespect Intended.
@@oaktree149 I like Safi because they reflect most modern interpretations of dragons, while Fatalis is more true to their original depiction.
i absolutely love glavenus and alatreon.
glavenus fighting you with it's own weapon is such a cool design
alatreon isn't my favorite monster but the design is really good, all the scales being reversed is so unique and even the horns face forward like they are reversed too
Ok I got a weird one, but my favorite design is Tobi-Kadachi. The mix of flying squirrel and viper sounds stupid, but ends up looking really cool. Hes able to use some aerial attacks and the way he charges himself by climbing up on the trees/walls and creating friction is super cool. Theres even a cool interaction where knocking him off the wall will create an opening for attack.
My two favorite monsters in between World/Icebourne and Rise/Sunbreak are Kulve Taroth and Bazelgeuse. Kulve's fight is just a joy. The original siege wasn't very fun, but the fight itself is so fun. Plus... She's an absolutely gorgeous monster. And her armor? Chef's kiss to Capcom, is the best looking in Icebourne. And Bazel is just hands down my favorite fight, theme, and armor in both games. In world, I preferred him over Pickle because Pickle is just this big mass of muscle and was relatively easy to avoid. Bazel, in terms of invaders, added so much beautiful chaos to a fight by starting off his invasion by forcing his music over the other monsters' before divebombing you out of nowhere before proceeding to turn the landscape into a bed of C4 explosives. And the aforementioned musical theme? Easily the best in both games barring Fatalis. And, as a Gunlance main, Bazel's armor is one of the best in Rise and Sunbreak. Even when you do eventually drop it for a more specialized set, geared more towards your playstyle, Bazel's Layered Armor is the fucking coolest.
But if I had to choose what my favorite design is apart from favoratism, I probably couldn't be totally unbiased, but Kulu Yaku is so perfect to me. I love him. Just a big scavenging chicken with so much personality. I like that in both World and Rise, he doesn't actually fight in his intro cinematic. In World, he runs from you after he notices you creeping, dropping a pot that he found while digging. And in Rise, he steals an egg and then books it when the parents notice. I'm really glad that Kulu made it into Rise. I think he's great even if he's not a hard monster.
And yes, I've only play World and Rise. No, I won't play older ones. Not unless they get remasters. I tried playing old games but dropped them within minutes because the control mapping was super jank.
Bazel started off to me as the most hated addition to World. But after fighting it more and even Seething B, it has become my most favorite monster. I love the fight, love the gear, and the music is just bombastic. Though close runner ups would be Agnaktor for how unique it is. Then Narkarkos and Vall Hazak in concept.
Love the video, definitely think Qurupeco should return (probably too late to be back in Sunbreak, so maybe Gen 6?)
Would also be cool to see a follow-up of the 6 monster designs you think don't really work
Namielle has such a good design, it has do much deep sea inspiration and it just fits perfectly in the coral highlands
I think Uragaan is also known as a hammer wyvern within the brute wyvern classes. Radobaan is the same, and they're called that for their big heavy chins.
I will say though, world was kinda limited on some of the roster. Almost all the beasts just fit into wyvern classes rather than purely beasts or being leviathans. Look at how many brute wyverns Brachy had to compete with.
Technically speaking leviathans are a type of wyvern, the main hard evidence for this is that many Leviathans have the title "The Blank Wyvern", and the anti-wyvern rampage decoration works on leviathans.
Plus, they're tetrapodal reptiles, which in Monster Hunter terms makes them wyverns.
with rise being my first monster hunter to REALLY get into, when i got to the chameleos fight and saw how he moved and behaved i had the biggest smile on my face the entire fight. and the song just helps the mood it's so silly
Really cool video, brachy is my fav too. It would be cool to see a top 10 by you
3:47 this is exactly why chameleos is my favorite monster
Namielle and Astalos are my two favorite monsters 😂
Every time I am playing world and Uragaan comes rolling at me all I hear HERE COMES THE CRIMSON CHINE
I want to fight a qurupeco so bad. Main reason I think it's iconic is technically, hunting a qurupeco was the first way anyone ever found deviljho
I forgot about Qurupeco! I wish they would bring him back. Fighting one in high rank and all a sudden Deviljho is breathing down your neck lol
monster that alot of people forget about is nibelsnarf. very unique name but such a weird design for a creature. massive mouth and tiny eyes, and a very colorful belly.
Some of my favourites include seltas/seltas queen, Tobi kadatchi, atal kah and ALL of the crabs.
Quropeco is a absolutely stunning earlygame Monster.
First of all, it introduces you to the Condept of Invaders. Furthermore it introduces you to hitzones and Bouncing.
And possibly the most clever Aspekt of it, your first real Armor will likely be Jaggi, whos weak to fire. And it has Mukus what lowers your fire Defense even more, and Fire moves.
And you need to break the Beak to make his Gear, forcing you to learn how to break Parts, but thats something Jaggi already did.
An absolute marvel of Gamedesign.
Yes Astalos is here! That is my favorite monster, although I may have added here Seltas queen for how creative her joint design is when combined with seltas and probably also Zamtrios, but both may be more in line with best fights.
Hey! Just stumbled across your channel, love it! Are you in Melbourne btw? I moved from Canada to Australia and been hard to find gaming buddies, esp anyone into coop games like MH.
There is a problem with brachydios though .... its carapace is on its back, while its slime explodes on the ground. Its shell is supposed to protect it from the slime....
So its shell should be on its belly
Fellow Brachydios fan here 🤝
Chameleos is my favorite elder dragon next to Namielle and Shagaru.
I'm a chameleos shill. More monsters need personality while not fighting
Namielle might be my favorite monster design. It's gorgeous.
Namielle is by far the best designed monster i have ever seen. but i do appreciate the Qurupeco love, like a reverse Jho and deserves to be in more games
Tobi K. Is beautiful
I would have added seltas and seltas Queen. They both have unique designs over Astalos's base wyvern design. But great video nonetheless!!
I’m pretty sure Uraagan is Rage Gamings favorite monster if i’m not mistaken
9:13 - (heavy breathing)
4U enjoyers: Where gogma?
The only one i disagree with is Astalos. Personally i always felt like he should have been a gigantic meganeura with electricity. The fact that he has a classic wyvern skeleton just makes him far less memorable (that's why i prefer seregios, at least he's different). He's trying too hard to be an insect, but he's not a neopteron so that's kinda cringe. Even tho i like his Sunbreak wings
I guess the dromes and preys are trying too hard to be dinosaurs, fatalis is trying too hard to be a regular dragon, tetranadon is trying too hard to be a kappa, zamtrios is trying too hard to be a shark, dalamadur is trying too hard to be a snake, and lunagaron is trying too hard to be a wolf.
I suppose Zorah is your favorite monster then, since his skeleton is completely unique.
God, I fuckin love brachydios.
#3 could also be Kulu-Ya-Ku
Rathalos, easy.
Where Magala
gg
1:35
Well, except Magnamalo. He just looks stupid no matter which way you look at him.
Xheese
What ? Chameleos is better in Rise ? He's not 100% invisible, what's the point of Chameleos if he's not invisible
Because siting on your ass waiting for the monster to do something is a shitty way to make a fun fight, they learned that lesson from Zorah Magdaros.
Uragaan never had a chance with me - since world was my first game, when I first met him all I could think of is worse radobaan. He's forever trapped as the most mediocre monster to me.
Uragaan is definitely a unique design but one annoying fight, radobaan I absolutely hate for a separate reason, but yeah your list is great but where is Kirin?
first
Freakin Qurupeco man the songs are annoying af
