While playing NFS: The Run recently, I decided to go old school and play one of the original NFS games. This demonstrates how you can 'Beat the Cops' in Hot Pursuit Mode.

well, the racing physics are kinda better, the scenery is more tasteful, and the cops are more fun to avoid, oh and you get three chances before you get busted BTY.

I never understood what triggered the cops giving up on chasing you. It always seemed to happen in the final stretch of the last lap. IDK if it was due to you're score or the amount of Cop Cars you crashed but I always felt i did good when I heard them give up.
