I COMPLETELY AGREE on replacing those smart wheels also. So MUCH BETTER with the CUSTOM STEERING WHEEL
I love how you are both fearless tearing into your trucks. Don’t know which I enjoy more, your videos on the road or in your driveway. Lookin good!
Hi Alice and Martin. These videos are like a breath of fresh air. I was in the hospital last week with pulmonary embolism. Flack from the covid booster. Painful and dangerous. I am back working little by little. God Bless you two, and thank you for the pick me up!
First off why would you get one clot shot? Secondly you went back and got more! I’ll say the quiet part out loud you’re not very smart are you? No offense but you get what pay for so to speak. Should’ve known better.
So glad to see you Folks again
Martin- I'm still amazed at your courage to jump into repairs or upgrades for the 1st time. Modern electrics can be a nightmare. Stay safe. JM
Hope you guys have been safe with all the storms moving through
all is good here
High Maintaince does need VERTICAL STACKS!!!!!! I'm with U on that Ms Alice!!!!!!!!!👍🏾🙌🏾🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊😎📢📢📢📢📢📢📢📢📢💯
😉
Keep the weed burner and put 8 inch dummy stacks on there. Much easier to keep them clean and polished.
Awesome video, lv the trucks!❤️
Woo-hooo!!!!!!! Gr8 Vid of TRUCKIN 2GETTER !!!!! A&M Jez 2 the rescue!!!!!!😎🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊💯📢📢📢📢📢📢📢📢📢📢🇺🇸💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵😎👍🏾🙌🏾
Good to see you guys again
Alice, You mentioned you guys aren’t professionals. You’re right about that. You two are in a class of your own when it comes to making your trucks so special. Super nice custom steering wheel. Looking forward to the next vid. Love you guys. Stay safe and healthy. 😎
I injoy the pride you guys put into you guys equipment.
Great job, wheel looks fabulous !!! 😊🇨🇦
Looking nice Alice. Love the new wheel, really fits with the vibe of the interior.
Nice job guys. I hate those steering wheels that have all that garbage on it. Now you can put a real trailer brake lever on the column maybe. I never understood why manufacturers took the trailer brake off from the steering column and put them on the dash. With the trailer brake lever on the column you could stick your arm through the steering wheel apply trailer brakes and gear down at the same time. With those new steering wheels ya can’t do that. I remember showing a guy how to gear down on an icy hill on the ice roads in northern Quebec without jack knifing and using that technique . He scratched his head because we were on a steep incline all ice and I stopped the unit on an icy hill with out jack knifing. Tales of the road.. Thanks for posting guys. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails to you beep beep…D
Black silicone works great for filling those gaps and it's close to the same color. It also acts like glue and you can shape it the way you want and then it sets that way.
Awesome, that looks great. Liking the new look of the truck. You guys are always fun to watch. Thanks
Keep the videos coming. Need my Trucking Together fix
I’m glad yall made this video because I’ve been wanting to do it to mine and haven’t really seen anything that breaks it down like this I appreciate it!!
Thanks for another great video glad to see your still doing them safe travels
That looks really good A&M. Great job.
That turned out really nice.
Martin, Alice nice work!
There's toggle adapters that can go on the flat rocker panels for the old school look & feel
Have missed your content. Always fun to see you two being busy!
You do good work Martin & Alice
I suppose "High Maintenance" is an appropriate name considering all the work she (or he?) continues to need, but I'll always think of her (or him?) as "Tinker". I know I don't count for nuthin cuz she's your truck, but I think she looks a little more like a large car without the fairings - besides, you'll never have to Tinker with busted bushings again.
Looking Good!!!!
Hey guys they make a zip tie that's blue, they have a metal wire inside, welded aluminum gets pretty soft guys, prob a bad weld, we heat aluminum often to remove stainless or brass from, get em yall
Nice work. I love those 579s
that steering wheel is beautiful
I need to bring my truvk to you all
That actually turned out better than i ezpexted. Looks great martin and aluce
Those sunglasses are awesome, Alice.
That reminds me when y'all just got the truck martin took the cover off inside and had pet hair all inside it I keep a clean truck but got curious so pulled that lil cover off and guess what I found 😂 my dogs hair would have never known that if it wasn't for Martin doing that thanks sir needless to say it's as clean as the rest the truck now lol once a month cleaning there
and we are still cleaning that hair outta all the panels in this truck too 😂
The most fabulous part of this video was the selfie zoom.
Very nice addition! I hate the buttons on the wheel, to euro for me
Hello Alice and Martin you to are so cool together love the video have a beautiful day
Hope all is well with you guys miss watching your videos
You can get cruise control dash switches and have the dealership add them in the computer it's actually pretty easy swap.
No you can’t. You would have to replace the whole dash harebss on this truck. Older trucks pre 2018, yes. Newer than 2018 no. Wasn’t an option to not have steering wheel control anymore and the whole dash harness is different.
Thanks guys going to have to move mine now on my next day off looks good y'all have a great safe blessed day
Got to say Alice that was some impressive plastic welding.
you can move any paccar product switch anywhere in the dash, they send unique signals (frequency) you should be able to knock out those plugs and install normal switches and just daisy chain the wiring to extend it. shutting off the smart wheel in the cecu may be required. if you have a abs code for sas that could also be in the clock spring, it appeared to not be there.
The older cabs, as Paccar put it 1.9 you could but the 2.1 cab you can’t move cruise if it’s in the wheel to the dash because harness goes to clock spring only. I don’t think they gave you the option of not having the smart wheel anymore. All the truck with the transmission stalk on the column are this way supposedly.
Edit. The SAS has its own harness and doesn’t run through clock spring on this truck. No lights.
Wow! That looks great! I like it. Keep on trucking….
Looks like prep for MATS 2025 is coming along nicely. Wonder whats next??
Looks very clean I'm going to do the same thing in my prostar looks great keep it up 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Glad to see you’re back with another video!
And remember…they use Dawn to remove oil spills from wildlife so…
Oh, and at 21:02, why couldn’t the cruise control set be mounted flush to the column on both left and right sides?
You didn’t explain so wondering…
Very nice work u2.. i love blue looks very nice👍👍👍
what R ya'll going to do next? show us a silent film!! ha..ha..
yea! the geese! knowledgeable.. that's helpful! yes! it lives down there in a dog house!
good stuff ya'll! if anything flys off, it'll be a frog!..grab a tube of ''shoegoo'', 4 quick waterproof patches... good luck team!
Game crew Green Bay Wisconsin the other week common they went to Reedsburg Wisconsin over to Dodgeville Wisconsin picked up the rest of my brakes and went back to K-Town
A true OO knows how to work on their rig. It’s the electronic crap that gets me!
Hi Alice and Martin
That's a good idea though still have every thing you need but not on the steering wheel. Always learning something here thanks guys I'm gonna have to try that. Never would have thought about just moving it like that lol.
Nice Work!!
Hi Martin Alice only getting to watch video now near midnight
Alice, Martin,...LOVE your channel. following a young couple, with kids, as you build a trucking company is really cool. One suggestion - forget the trolls, when something gets posted that wrinkles your nose......just delete the comment and move on. Life is toooooo short. Please keep it coming.
You’re making me think about doing something like that to my 579. Probably be easier for me. Mine doesn’t have the steering wheel buttons on it. Good job Martin
ya be super easy if you don’t have a smart wheel
Hi Martin... I think the problem with the controls was the radio control has the Terminating resistor. They talk on a Databus (Likely CANBUS) and it must be terminated at the end of the line. Usually they are 120 Ohms, also note if you start having issues with those controls or other can bus you might want to use can bus wore for any extensions ......
You’re correct. I realized that after
@@TruckingTogether canbuss can be a pain in the neck. Love the channel and thankfully you guys escaped communism here in kommiefornia
Enjoyed the video. Have a great day.😊😊😊😊😊
Looking good guys 😊
Well it might have been done at the peterbilt shop where you got the truck? You guys got the truck in Arkansas back when? I have redone at least two things the peterbilt garage done on my peterbilt truck. How about battery cables left off not connected? I found this slip up when I checked their work after they changed a starter for me. I started to change the starter by myself but I realized I couldn't do it by myself. ( I know my limitations). The second slip up was (the same shop) they replaced a coolant fitting and used the wrong fitting ( the fitting connected to the air compressor on the top) well it started dripping a little bit of coolant when I was idling my truck while doing my pre trip. I didn't say anything to them I just let it slide I will need them again and there isn't anyone in this area that is better. So there aren't a lot of high skilled people doing this work commercially. There are higher skilled people but they are owner operators and that's one of the reasons a lot of owner operators are successful is they do most of their own mechanical work and also service work oil changes and grease ect.
Hi guys you coming back ? I look for you everyday and nothing but crickets hope you all are well .
Hey guys that’s awesome great job 👍💪🏻❤️☮️✌️
Good beautiful morning y'all
Good morning good video keep them coming
Yup it's all fun and games until you have to cut and weld plastic.
Great videos
Hi Alice and Martin you could have a Horn but en on the dash
You guys are awesome.Comment earler mentioned black silicone to fill gap. I agree. Guys, here in shit hole taxachusetts, no city horn, no inspection sticker. Not the case in Wisconsin?
WI does not have state inspections. It’s also not a FMCSA requirement, look it up
I like those mods! Keep up the good work … 😊
Witch truck won fancy or tiny
Hi Alice and Martin Will you be making any new videos in the future? I really miss them. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Yes, soon
@@TruckingTogether Thank you so much for getting back to me. I'm super excited and can't wait. Y'all stay safe in your travels.
Alice you definitely need to get rhe steps changed out to match.
Nice job buddy 👍
DOT checks our city horn during inspections in NY
FMCSA says specifically you must have A horn. doesn't say what kind or how it's actuated, just have to have a horn
393.81 Horn.
Every bus, truck, truck-tractor, and every driven motor vehicle in driveaway-towaway operations shall be equipped with a horn and actuating elements which shall be in such condi- tion as to give an adequate and reliable warning signal.
Looks Good Peace
As always good job🎉
Hey guys it’s been a while,we need updates,on our favorite trucking couple
Looking good
Because you moved to Wisconsin and I heard you talking, about coming to Silver Lake ? Letting you know about a service. I've done this once with my Truck. And took another trip across with a personal vehicle. I'm suggesting completely up to you if visiting Michigan? I'm sure I'm going to get some Flack for this. Take the ss badger across like Michigan.
We’ve been on it once, it’s an awesome ferry. The only way to go.
Do you need a team on one of your trucks👀 2 years 8 months at Prime Inc Im ready for the next leg up so I can own my own truck one day. Stepping down from a walk away lease to drive company and eventually own my own truck
I believe to be Dot compliant your electric (city horn ) needs to working. Thru many dot inspections most checked to if it worked.
FMCSA says specifically you must have A horn. doesn't say what kind or how it's actuated, just have to have a horn. So no a “city horn” is not required
393.81 Horn.
Every bus, truck, truck-tractor, and every driven motor vehicle in driveaway-towaway operations shall be equipped with a horn and actuating elements which shall be in such condi- tion as to give an adequate and reliable warning signal.
Thanks for the corection
Question, The guy that had your truck last might have been poor on the maintenance, but why didn't t you get out the old cover all's and do a thorough inspection on it before you signed?
Awesome
Looks nice
Alice what truck did Martan end up with ? I miss seeing your videos are you still going to make your videos?
will be back soon
🔥🔥🔥🔥 real nice
So, I am a slow-learner, but since you guys are working on the Arkansas truck, does that mean that Tiny Dancer is the truck slated to be sold??? Sorry in advance if you already said that and I missed it somewhere along the line. Keep up the great videos!!!
Nice job on that project love the steering wheel. Question have you thought of a battery disconnect so after sitting for a period of time hit the switch it should start right up.
Maybe change your business model to "Martin's Custom Detailing". Would make a ton of money perhaps.
Martin is a professional at it.
Everyone will be changing their steering wheels now lol.
❤ how things are going 👍🏽
Don't you need the city horn to pass inspection I remember the DOT wanted to hear it.
FMCSA 393.81 Horn.
Every bus, truck, truck-tractor, and every driven motor vehicle in driveaway-towaway operations shall be equipped with a horn and actuating elements which shall be in such condi- tion as to give an adequate and reliable warning signal.
Key word here is “A Horn” does not state City Horn
It appears that your new home is JUST TO CLOSE to a CHROME SHOP for your own good…….LOL
So which truck won???
What is that on the pillar right there …. Driver side … out facing light?
Anti Glare lights
@@TruckingTogether is there a vid on them
@@dixiemae5042 we haven’t done one. they are just a old school trucker thing, don’t really do anything. Just makes a purple circle light in the windshield
@@TruckingTogether ok. Where did y’all pick it up. And most importantly does it work
You should show how you do the bandana😅
Hello 👋 Hey HI and Howdy Y'all. .
Great video and another project walk thru. Martin I know your a busy man but if you had a 3d printer it would change your life. 😄
they take so long though
no train horns on our trucks:[ ministry says its to scary lmfao ;]
