We do Z, L and straight cuts on semi trucks but all three cuts always receive a short section of frame inside for a double frame. We stretch semi trucks and have never had a failure, but I'd never trust any frame splice without a second inner frame piece, not a pickup or semi
It has to have a gusset on both sides on truck frame to strengthen it. That’s just for half ton
Wouldn't this technically extend the wheel base?
Not when the front section is also cut at reverse angle to keep core support holes correct. I wanted to extend my wheel forward .5 inches so slanted it more than usual to center the wheel bettee
