The north is so underrated. People tend to flock to the beaches of Visayas and Mindanao but I believe the north is just as worthy of a visit.
I agree with that 😃! I can’t believe that this places exist!
Maybe because the beaches in the Visayas are calm and you can swim without having to struggle from the big waves. Its not very far from the airport that you have to travel 5-6 hours

My fathers hometown is San Fernando, La Union and we go to San Juan for the beaches, restaurants, and surfing! Being from California, I absolutely love going there! I've never been to Bali, but to say that San Juan is better than Bali is a huge sell!
La Union is better than Bali for sure, the waves is attractive! I can’t wait to go back here for the surf season 😃!!
WSL often holds competitions in Bali, some of which are included in the CT series not QS, and don't forget the annual edition of the Padang-padang special WSL event and there are lot of video footages about the said events . It is best to use valid references, don't use the opinion of a vlogger who are not a surfer himself and have worked with tourism related establishments of a certain country. Some of top surfing waves in Bali are Padang-padang, racetrack uluwatu, Impossible, Balangan, Keramas and many more. Those in uluwatu can hold 20ft plus swell in the peak season, usually in the best days of august. Don't get caught of BS sis.

@Hunter Wave I don't care about tourists coming or not, that's why I try to avoid Boracay even though it's not overrun by tourist like Bali it still has too much for my taste.

Been in bali 1 week ago… and thats is too crowded.. its like more tourist than the local. But i read in newspaper actually that is not tourist, but immigrant from russia and ukraine because they run away from war, just like 55thousand/ month that why bali going crazy now.. 🙄🙄

Check out the beach in Bauang, La Union. It is less congested.
Fun Fact: Bauang, La Union was the original and the first Beach Capital of the Philippines during 60s/70s before Boracay, Siargao, El Nido, San Juan, La Union became famous. A lot of legendary Filipino celebrities were already celebrated and stayed in Bauang like FPJ, Susan Roces, Vilma Santos, Nora Aunor etc. Even international artists from different countries performed on the famous and luxurious hotels of Bauang, La Union before (60s/70s). Sadly, a lot of old and known hotels/resorts were already abandoned. Today, Bauang is famous with their grape farms for grape picking experience.

@@martinsolhaugen Yes sir, I hope you can go back to La Union and explore all the towns including the capital city of San Fernando, La Union. Each towns have own beautiful tourist spots. San Juan, La Union is a very small fraction of the Province of La Union. San Juan is mainly for surfing, food hub or night life but whole Provincewide has a lot to offer.

Hi guys, I'm planning a trip around the coast of northern Luzon. I do want to hit la Union etc.
I have lots of questions for you.
Nice truck rental. How much per day or week? Did you have to pay a lot extra for insurance.
I'm finding rooms for rent in San Juan La Union expensive and many are booked for December. A year away. Are there a lot of places like homestays and such or should I definitely reserve in advance. Last one today... Are there towns around the coast with good surfing and rooms that are also worth spending time? Thanks
