Went to see an early Tyler Perry movie when he came on the scene. Don't even remember which one but within the first 20 minutes, my friend and I were out in the lobby seeing what else was playing. Couldn't stomach it. At best, we came to accept that we were just not in that demographic. Amateurish filmmaker, character development, story telling.
No more money spent on his work, that's my statement for starters.

He was the FIRST BLACK casting director in Hollywood and a film producer to. He was the head of television casting for Warner Brothers and started his own casting agency in 1978 (Reuben Cannon & Associates).
