They are coming back to me one by one: glorious years!
I wish it were '21 again
    for a moment
    Coming by like a horseman
    on the wide lane
    and with Kolokotronis
    I would drink wine
    I would fight
during the day at the castles
    and my sword
    would be catching on fire
    and I would hold
in the nights under the stars
    a beauty in my arms.
They are coming back to me one by one: glorious years!
I wish it were '21 again
    for one night
First in line, I am leading the dance
    in the streets of Moria
    and behind me the Maniates
    and the Psariani.
    And when I return injured
    under the gardens
they are showering me with flowers
    [clapping] hands and skies.
    I would fight
during the day at the castles
    and my sword
    would be catching on fire
    and I would hold
in the nights under the stars
    a beauty in my arms.
They are coming back to me one by one: glorious years!
I wish it were '21 again
    for one night.

Not really. The Roman Greek weren't as obsessed with hereditary as were the Gondorians and the Arnorians. Unlike the Numenorean Dunedain the Roman Greeks had a meritocracy, meaning that if they had liberated New Rome/Constantinople they would't be searching old family trees in dusted manuscripts to find the closest relative to Constantine IX Palaeologos (however King Otto of Greece had Roman Greek ancestry from the Imperial Houses Komnene and Laskaris). They would proclaim Roman Emperor the most able and worthy man for such a thing, the leader who lead to such a victory most likely.

Greek language so weird... Especially that one part, where it's so similar to slavic languages. Something about two or three words, but it really interesting

    • @pyrrhocorax
      @pyrrhocorax 5 лет назад +7

There are some Slavic words that have found their way into the Greek language. Words like γκλάβα(meaning "head" from глава), λακκούβα(meaning something like "pothole" from the Slavic локва. The word λάκκος, however, is of Greek origin and means the same thing.) among some others. But, the languages aren't related.

It is not similar to slavic at all. Perhaps they both seem equally alien to you.

    • @lagrece
