    Pea puffer is one of my favorite fish species. They think it is appropriate to place them with Molly Fish. Thanks for sharing this information with us.

    Wow! These puffers are really adorable. I was thinking about adding some tank mates to mine. Zebra danios seem like a great option for keeping the peace. Thanks for the info!

    I've found that they thrive best when kept in tandem, but I'm eager to explore some of the suggested alternatives.

    I never thought about keeping pea puffers with endlers, but it makes so much sense now. Great suggestion! Also, the clear and concise presentation in the video helped me understand the compatibility factors better.

      Hi there - I’m pretty sure I didn’t say Endler’s 😅. I only put mollies on the list. Don’t put endlers or guppies in with them. Mollies are the only livebearer I would say could be compatible

    I keep my puffers without any no puffer tank mates yes they are so very intelligent, I love them.
    I feed mine twice a day, bloodworms and or pond snails. This does make the tank get dirty quickly tho. Thanks for the video!

    I really like the Zebra Danio model with its cute size and the stripes on its body which attracted my attention to owning it, It looks like it would be funnier if paired with the Pea Puffer in the tank that I have prepared. But I will think about getting it first.

    The pea puffer care guide is very accurate and informative! 👍
    The one note tho is you didn’t mention feeding. Pea puffers won’t flakes or pellets and need live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and pest snails. The good news is that unlike other puffers, they don’t have continuously growing teeth that need to be constantly worn down by hard crunchy foods, so you don’t have to worry about providing a constant source of snails, etc.
    Imo, I think the best tank mates for pea puffers are other pea puffers. A group of at least three females, or three females and a male, is *perfect* as it gives multiple targets to spread out any aggression
    With a densely planted 20 gallon long, there’s also plenty of space and cover for them to escape aggression and to form their own separate territories if need be

    Pea puffers look interesting, would they go well with Amano shrimp? this will look good. If it doesn't match, I might consider combining it with Neon Tetra Fish so that there is a balanced color in it.

    So all the reasons Rasboras are a no surely apply to neons?

    • @a.b.8080
      @a.b.8080 7 дней назад

      How about larger fish like cardinal tetras? I've kept neons and a pea together, but my puffer did not care. When they tried to steal food he got aggressive but the schooling behaviour and agility of neons diffused that quickly.
      Then again, some puffers might give chase or go after a sleeping fish, but cardinals are quick and about the same size as zebra/leopard danios.

    can someone tell me what fish is seen at 1:39 with the blue eye during the khuli loach part?

    • @thatonedog819
      @thatonedog819 Месяц назад +2

      Some kind of blue eye rainbow (which are not actually rainbows).
      These look to be juveniles that are not colored up yet. If you look close, you can see a little yellow on the edge of their fins (which look mostly transparent otherwise)
      Check out the red neon blue eye!

    You *don't* want a heavily planted tank if you want to house shrimp with your pea puffers? I'm just making sure I understood that right, not making a negative comment or anything.
    I've been having success housing my 4 ppfs with a handful of Neocardinas and Thai Micro crabs in a tank that's almost 80% plants (there's also banjo cats, a baby raphael cat, and a small school of assorted neon tetras), I haven't had any issues yet but it may be due to my feeding schedule and the amount of hiding spaces the shrimp and crabs can access to get away from the fish.
    Edit: it may have also be to do with the massive snail population the puffers have to mow down and play with

    • @AquariumStoreDepot
      @AquariumStoreDepot  5 месяцев назад +1

      If a pea puffer is housed in a larger system, fully planted, well feed with plently of micro fauna and snails to much on it’s likely not going to chase shrimp around to eat. They are too distracted with easy snail prey.
      Your setup wouldn’t be common from what I hear from our viewers and blog readers. Most tend to have moderate or basic setups

    • @devoted2lostcauses
      @devoted2lostcauses 4 месяца назад +1

      @@AquariumStoreDepot I'm still confused if you're recommending to NOT have a planted tank to mix pea puffers with amanos? I'm considering this combo in the future but I automatically thought lots of plants would help and be good?
