My favorite portrait lens is not what you think

Today I'm going to be talking about an unorthodox way of capturing portraits with a 24mm lens. Now this may leave you scratching your head a bit because, traditionally, 24mm lenses have been thought of as the go-to for landscapes and architecture -- not necessarily portraiture. But I'm here to prove that assumption wrong and show you how with a few tricks, you can create gorgeous and unique portraits that will set your work apart from others.

I love the 24mm-28mm range for environmental portraits. I like my 50 a lot but tend to favor my 28mm shots more when I’m doing portraits. The 16mm (obligatory “24mm equivalent” statement) on my Fujifilm let’s me get in close without losing a lot of the background story elements 🤙🏼

Love to hear it! On my fuji set up i pretty much only use my 16mm 1.4! Everything from vlogging to portraits. The background can be such a key element in making your image that much better! I love to utilize it in my work even if im not going for your typical environmental looking portrait :)
