Dual booting windows 11 and Zorin OS helps to use both operating systems at the same time. When you turn on your Pc it will ask you to boot in to window 11 or Zorin OS. This way you can run both operating systems on the same computer hassle free.
In this tutorial I will be showing how to install ubuntu alongside on windows 11. This video is for UEFI - GPT Systems. All the modern computers can use this guide to dual boot their PC with Zorin OS on their existing Windows 11. There may be no data loss you will encounter while using this method, although it’s always recommended to back up any important Data from windows 11 just to be on a safer side. IF something goes wrong, you can retrieve the data. Apart from that as long as you follow this guide, you will be able to successfully dual boot zorinOS and windows 11 on your PC or laptop.

After the letter assigned =x this drive shows in my file explorer how to disable it
I wanted to know how to install zorin while keeping another linux installed, but I didn't had to do manual partitioning or any complex stuff, during the installation it gave me the option to keep the other linux and even control the disk space with just the mouse, very practical, good job developers 👏🏻

With win 10 , I had few Linux Distros , but win 11 makes a lot of Problem and now no Problem at all. Thank you for that Video , helps 5000% just from 1st try .

Thats true. But It can only be edited with Admin rights Via command prompt.

Windows 11 doesn't let me install Zorin OS. Whenever I try dual boot Windows 11 and Zorin OS none of them work. Windows give's me a blue screen and Zorin OS freezes when I try to start it up. I would really like a troubleshooting video about this.
Use Windows 11 as ur daily driver and use Zorin OS booted from a pendrive

If you're installing Ubuntu 21.10, make sure not to give name with any capital letter before giving username.
There is a bug when you give name with capital letter, username also try to take that name and the capital letter become problematic and it can't continue to install as the system don't allow usernames with caps.
Just now, I had to restart the whole process because of that.

I've dual booted zorin with windows 11 in my msi but while restarting windows 11 is booting directly what should i do to get the selection boot menu?
Reinstall grub bootloader or a bootloader of your choice, if you don’t know how, reinstall Zorin.
Will it cause any problem during updates , as the boot managers of both windows and linux are in the same partition , I heard that during windows updates Microsoft usually screw up 😅

I have an issue during the installation, Zorin install doesn't recognize me that already exist a windows SO in the laptop and doesn't show me the free space when I want to create the manual partitions, any clue? I have windows 11 in my Asus laptop.
Good instructions but I went with 1024MB FAT32 partition for EFI partition to be used by Zorin, then about 4GB as swap since machine had 16GB RAM already, then another good size partition as /home just in case if I needed to reinstall Linux or change it to another distro, the data in the "home" directory would not be lost then about 50-60GB for system. Worked out really well!

Bro, Zorin os is based on gnome? Can it run gnome tweeks / its extentions?
use Gnome-tweaks to do minor tweaking but dont do heavily
ZorinOs "Pro" and "Core" editions both use the GNOME shell desktop environment. Lite uses XFCE.

Assure me that after assigning the drive letter and finally removing zorin and rebooting system, it will not show a 100mb partition in my files.
Can i actually install zorin os next to windows11 on a seperate ssd drive and still get the dual boot thing running ? Or does it have to be the same "c" drive where windows is already installed ?

Legacy installers are a lot better than the new ones. I'm talking about Ubuntu 23.10.1. Such a great people there at Canonical. They added the Legacy desktop installer ISO. I like the old installer much
When i select my disk, it has 3 things saying free space, one of them says 1 mb and the other two 0mb, what do i do? My disk isn't full but zorin says it is

I had to boot into usb using legacy as usb boot option is not present in uefi..so I can't see efi option while installing and it asked to create reverse bios partition separately...donno what happens..will it mess boot manager?

When I Opened file manager after removing zorin os , THere is a new File called ESP(X:). This might have something to do with assigning x. So how do I get rid of it?
you come back to diskpart like 14:05 and you write " remove " in the terminal
after installation it just boots back into windows without giving me any option to choose which OS i want to boot into
Turn off the PC. and boot into UEFI bios and you can find Grub boot loader if the installation was successful.

No, swap partition must atleast be the size of your ram, 8gb is fine in your case.
How about efi partition?
You can create but no need, one EFI partition is enough for the whole drive which uses GPT map

Why do some people prefer Etcher? Rufus has more features.
Cause Rufus has issues with some Linux ISO images.

then there is some problem with your disk images file (iso). resinstall it and follow the whole process shown in the video

Same. Zorin Pro is loaded with ton of features and optimised very well. Good for High end hardware.

Its not like that. You can install on legacy computers too. Make sure during the installation choose install alongside windows boot manager,
The only issues I have with linux it's Hardware drivers not working in Linux or not found Canon MF 4370dn not in the list of all canon list
i bought the pro version of Zorin os 16 my canon laser print it seen on the network but no driver since i have MS Windows driver not linux driver
and another issue with dual boot on the same drive it's risky why if windows corrupted bye bye linux need to reinstall all again that is why it's better to have both os in different drives with each os one fail the other not one drive to reinstall vis versa
and set up in dual boot too. i'm sure there other device that will not work with Zorin my Epson 550 scanner. this is why i keep windows 11.

followed everything step by step and no luck after the restart after a successful Zorin installation there is no grub boot options and just boots directly to Windows 11 unfortunately.

@@seviade2823 I managed to get it working in the end. I ended up reinstalling Zorin and using the quick installation option "Install Zorin OS alongside Windows Boot Manager", I could then only access Zorin through opening Windows Advance Settings and it assumed the new partition was a USB, so changed the startup settings to then prioritse boot USB. After doing all this I had to go into Zorin and update grub, now I get a menu to allow me to select Zorin or Windows on boot

For legacy boot and MBR it will work, but the last part when it comes to deleting Zorin partition is different.

FOR ME BALENA CREATED PROBLEMS BUT RUFUS WORKED

i completed thru 8:12 in the video, but when i got to the part where you turn the 7 gigs of free space into swap memory, it said "unusable" instead of free space for me
i found my own solution by making the swap memory first, and making that a logical one and now the 45 gigs is free space
But now Windows 10 doesn't even show up on the boot menu anymore
