Quite possibly the best power ballad ever recorded
I met them once in the early 70s in Olympia Washington and they were playing alot of led zeppelin covers etc and the tavern was halffull . They sat at my booth and drank a pitcher of beer with us during a break. I knew they were destined to be rock royalty
A Wilson‘s voice still sends chills down my spine. Every time I hear her saying. And her sister Nancy absolutely shreds on that Guitar. I mean she is awesome. The way she can make that Guitar saying it’s just ungodly. Absolutely one of my favorite bands from the 80s.they’re actually coming to my hometown with the cheap trick and I’m definitely gonna go see them them. I don’t know if you realize it or not but Ana and Nancy were sisters. That would explain a lot of the chemistry that they have, and how they work so well together on stage.
Anne's vocals are a force of nature.

I would agree they were. But they will be getting dethroned by “THE WARNING”. 3 Sisters from Monterrey Mexico. They just celebrated their 10 year anniversary as a band. Which is amazing considering they are only 23,21 & 18.

One of Heart's biggest hit singles in 1987... it was written for the band because they needed hit singles in the 80's... In the MTV era where image was essential, there was an issue because Ann Wilson (vocals) had gained a lot of weight ... The record company felt it was a liability. So, when Heart was filmed for music videos, u will notice that Ann Wilson was not shot in a full frame to hide her plus-size figure... Her sister Nancy Wilson (guitar/ vocals) was the petite woman of the band and she was made the sexy video vixen.
Despite not writing their 80's hits... Heart was killing it in the 80's w/ songs like - 'These dreams' (lead vocal by Nancy Wilson)... 'What about love' ... 'Never' ... 'Who will you run to'... 'All I wanna do is make love to you'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥

The song wasn't written for them. It's a cover from a band in 1983 called I-Ten
For the record that's Howard Leese playing the lead guitar. Nancy was more of a rhythm player. Still great, check out her acoustic intro to Crazy On You.
Love this song Mia , what a throwback to the 80s.... It's off the band's 1987 album "Bad Animals" . The original was by a little-known group called i-Ten in 1983. Another good one from Heart is " These Dreams " Wow!!! Awesome as usual Mia , but you really did it this time, some great on screen thoughts and Info!!!
Also Heart has many great songs, the Songs of the 80s are when they made there comback to musicc, their career startes in the 70s
Some of the best music you will EVER hear!! These two sisters were the best! Ann has such a powerfully controlled voice, second to none!! And let's not forget, Nancy was backing her up on not only instruments but harmonizing with her, many times hitting higher notes! What a combo!!
U should to ‘These Dreams’ by Heart. Nancy actually sings vocals and Ann backs her because Ann actually had a cold during the recording.
This whole song is so well done. Melodic guitar solos are way better than speed solos. This should be a lesson to all those hot shots who shred. Blues and feeling make all the difference. The vocals and the idea here are just so good! She wouldn`t have to call me, I would be calling her! I love these two sisters. So amazing!

Interesting fact … after starting in the 70s, the Wilson sisters reinvented Heart with the upcoming 80s rock sound. Unfortunately, Ann Wilson gained a substantial amount of weight, which was not favoured in the new 80s video age. The record label always dressed her in lots of black and almost always showed her in tight shots of her face, while Nancy would get plenty of screen time in the wide shots showing off her form.
It got so repetitive that people in the industry started referring to Ann as the “voice” and Nancy as the “body”. It was a very difficult time for Ann.
A suggestion for a good duet to react to, try “Almost Paradise” from the movie Footloose, where Ann sings with Mike Reno of Loverboy.

The female Dynamic Duo is one if the greatest duos ever the Righteous Brothers are the greatest male duo. Both are in thr Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and surely deserve it. Never, Crazy on You, Barracuda are 🔥🔥🔥 also by Heart Ann Wilson and Righteous Brothers are three of the greatest singers ever.

Power ballad is absolutely overdue returning as a mainstream genre
Howard Leese does the guitar solo. He came up with that solo. The things with Heart videos is they trade off Howard and Nancy during the solo and it misleads you. Not saying Nancy isn't a good guitarist, just I don't think the "men" of Heart get enough recognition. Mark Andes on bass and Denny Carmassi on drums. I am a Heart fan. I was then. This song was played over and over on my stereo. lol

As good as the studio version is, I think this live acoustic version is even better. They're older, the big hair and glam is gone. Nancy plays acoustic guitar instead of piano and electric guitar. Yeah, it's a stupendous tune. But... First of all, this is a cover song (the Wilson sisters didn't write it) and, second of all, Nancy doesn't actually play lead guitar. She played piano and rhythm guitar, sang back up vocals, and apparently owned a lot of shares in the Aqua-Net company.
All kidding aside, HEART were an amazing band. Ann Wilson might have the bestest pipes in all of female rockdom. That wail she screams in the bridge is an all timer!
