Just wanted to thank you for this how-to video. I just got a brand new Ridgeline (with basically the same dash setup) and it just developed and absolutely unbearable dash squeak at only just over 2000 miles on the clock. I'm a diy-er, so after watching this video, i was brave enough to tear my brand new dash apart to investigate the squeak. Turns out the screw that holds the top of the instrument cluster came loose and allowed it to move enough to squeak. Tightened it up and it's all good now. Thanks again!
Great video. This gave me the confidence to replace the thin shiny strip above the glove box. Purely a cosmetic issue, but the chip in my existing one drives me crazy. I'll swich out the glove box light while im at it
Hello. I need to replace the piece at 3:38 under the radio with the hazard/bag buttons. Can it be replaced by simply removing it with tool or does entire piece need to be removed? Great vid!
A couple questions: 1 - were you able to fix your cluster issue. Please update. 2 - was the problem a blank speedometer? I have a 2018 Ridgeline with that problem. 3 - did you remove passenger side and radio trim to provide tutorial, or can you get to the cluster by doing only driver side part of your video? Thanks - hoping you were able to solve your problem.
This is an intermittent problem that seems to be related to the heat. When I made this video it was July of 2023. It was blank for almost a month but occasionally the display would come on but it was wrong or would freeze on one speed. One day mid August the speedometer display began to glitch and then came on and STAYED ON until July of this year (2024). Again… a month of blank screens and glitches while the temps were consistently their hottest and then one day the screen came back again and for the last few months has worked fine no problem. The passenger side trim is very easy to remove. I can have the dash trim off in five minutes. Replaced my push start just a few weeks ago and had to remove the same trim to get to it. I would encourage you to remove the passenger side plastics to be safe.
@@PromisKeeper thank you for your quick response. Mine hasn’t worked in some time, but does flash on and off in cold weather. I think it may be some solder cracks or something breaking the connection. I use a separate speedometer plugged into the Obd2 port. I hate to spend the $1300 to have the dealer fix and still be left with a note on the CarFax about odometer adjustments. I either have to bite the bullet or live with it and drive the truck into the ground.
@normanfoster9810 Ive had the back cover off the unit to try and find something with a connection but had no luck. It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the harness or harness connections. I have to think someone out there has the knowledge to repair these.
Yeah that crossed my mind. But it really is something freezing up. The last time it happened, I was able to realize the air flow was decreasing before it completely stopped. I killed the AC and just let the fan blow and it cleared up very quickly.

Thank you! You helped me a lot to replace my dashboard.

I would remove the trim before trying to pry out the hazard panel.

Thanks for the video!
I gotta change the lens on my honda passport and I thought it would be easier as the older hondas but I was wrong
What is the yellow tool that you used to remove those parts of the dash?

Maybe its the door that switches the vents might be closing had this happened to me with my 1999 ford explorer

Can you swap the gauge cluster with 2020 model?
No. You have to match the part numbers exactly.
