Wow! You have just earned my respect for being so ethical, honest and informative of the truth. We definitely need more surgeons like you. Thank you so much. I’d love to hear more about the effects fillers has on cosmetic surgery. For instance, is a face with filler more difficult to lift during a facelift? Does it affect the outcome or longevity of the results? Can you remove the filler during surgery? Also apparently one surgeon said that he would not work on faces that had hyalauronidase injected into it as it somehow compromises the SMAS layer. I think I mention towards the end, any area of volume loss can be addressed with filler. the lips and the cheeks and tear trough are all good places but only for volume loss, not for soft tissue descent.
Great informative video. We see many patients with temporal issues, especially females. As we age, with hormonal changes, bone loss(reabsorption), and fat loss, the temples almost take on, what we refer to as, a "peanut look"....so temples are always addressed at the appropriate time and on the appropriate patient. Hyper dilute Sculptra works well in this area. We like your straightforward videos. Please keep them coming!
Effective Facial exercises and weight lifting help preserve facial structures. Thank you for this in-depth analysis, I think the fact that these procedures don’t last becomes addictive for some patients.
weight-lifting/being thin is ageing to the face. If you're fat (being fat is the new norm=most people), ANY exercise will make you look younger, if you're genetically thin (me) don't over-do it because you will look like an old "gristle-hen". Muscle is always good though , no matter how fat or thin you are.
Ultimately to preserve facial structure you need to preserve as much bone as you can. Replacing vitamin k2 is very helpful. Dr rajani on RUclips has great information on this. Most facial aging g that is most noticeable is a result of bone resorption.
@@Yentra163 well if obese people loose extreme amounts of weight the fat pads shrink shift and change causing sagging. Not to mention loosing it quickly results in stretch marks ( while not on the face) still become a big problem for skin sagging in other areas bc these are deep scars that either need removed via skin surgery or heavily ablative lasers which is costly. I do however understand where you say the fat can give an illusion of youth bc the skin is filled out to an extent
A lot of bad news and disappointments.. would love to see you do a video listing only the procedures that work and you recommend . Also a video that tells us some new up and coming procedures or products that look promising.
As someone who is careless with my DIY and other things; I've always been extremely wary and will not get fillers or Botox.… Thank you for your honesty. Would like to see videos on radio frequency, microcurrent, sonic, laser. Thanks
I haven't finished the video yet, but I got filler in my lips about 1.5years ago, it was just 1 ml and I love my lips now but the filler hasn't disappeared at all! It's maybe only 10% less now, so yeah, I can say that it doesn't go away like everyone told me it will (they said 6-12 months max), or at least not completely. In my case it's great, my lips were never overfilled and they look natural now, but damn it could be different for someone who hates their filler :/ Edit: finished the video, wow, he has seen patients with filler placed 10 years ago 😱 damn
I mean if u hate ur filler then yeah it sucks it doesn’t dissolve on its own..but if u still like ur filler and its been in there for 10+ years so what?? Ur still somewhat getting the effect
Love this very honest and researched explanations on fillers! I’ve gone through a traumatic bike accident loosing the mandibles in my jaw many years ago & I’ve wondered how can I get the volume back in my jaw area. I did undergo several surgeries to re-brake my jaws so that I could close my mouth, not for aesthetic purposes… and then a final one to put one small implant to recreate the loss of volume (mostly on my right side of face where I was hit) Unfortunately , the implant wouldn’t take and had to be removed asap ( it caused infections) I wonder, trying not to be obsessing, how my face would look now if I had my volume back. To inject might be an option ? However I’ve been through enough and this video is great , showing the downfalls of injections. Having had several MAXILLO facial surgeries , I understand the difficulties.
I've had fillers on my smile lines many times, and never had a problem. They last about a year for me, but as i age I notice that they are getting deeper.. so I have to start embracing my age or continue to camouflage my aging process. Now, that u have explained everything quite well , I have decisions to make . The lip fillers were a waste of money for me because it dissolved so fast for me to enjoy the look .
Amen!! I thought I’d do all this stuff when I got older, because I wanted to hold on to being beautiful, and now I’m older, and I want nothing do with Botox and fillers!! My health matters soooo much more to me than my looks. The older I get, the less I care about my looks (but I definitely still make an effort).
I wish more people spoke up like this. I am 27 mos post 200 units of botox in my face/head. It spread systemic very fast..if I will make a full recovery, time will tell. I'm glad I never got filler like my ENT suggested post parotidectomy complications. Thank you !
I had an alergic reaction after fillers in my lips. I was not informed that this could happen and got hold of them on the phone. They said it was normal and I could go to the ER if it did not reduce in couple of hours. It was some painful hours but the worst was the fear that this would be permanent. She used a needle at my lips and it was very painful. The botox was nothing compared but I would suggest go to a doctor or experienced person to do anything to your skin. Preferable do nothing or as little as possible. Things can go ba very fast You can get addicted to the precidures and that will damage your looks in the long run and cost much more than you ever imagined. RN, Norway.
all of what you say is true but I am not fundamentally against any of these products but they all have limitations and I am trying to highlight what those are. thanks for your contribution.
I got sucked into the trend and had a very bad reaction to Botox , was bedridden and suffering severe headaches , dry mouth , weakness, nausea etc for weeks and weeks. I tried filler in my lips once and I felt strange pains and sensitivity for weeks also and lumps. Both come with life threatening risks. Very distressing. I won’t ever put a needle in my face again . Most people really don’t need anything done. Embrace individuality. It’s a multi million billion dollar industry and media etc pushes it and normalised it. Health is far more important . Avoid unnecessary procedures. That’s my experience anyway
As a practitioner myself , your knowledge is so worth it to consider before offering clients for fillers and really explain the side effects and warnings. Thank you so much . Would love to come to Manchester to visit you ! Ronaldo here Nurse ( clear light clinic london)
Honesty!!!! Thank you SO MUCH for being totally transparent!! If every surgeon had your wonderful morals, women wouldn't suffer from botched jobs!!! It seems money is way more important to them, which goes against the "DO NO HARM" objective!!
Speaking of Profhilo, unfortunately I was persuaded to do this treatment once, fortunately only half the dose for the face. After a few days, instead of the promised even spread on the face, the preparation began to fall, creating jaws, which I did not have before ... I wrote about it on the largest forum of aesthetic procedures in my country and it turned out that many women have serious complications after profhilo in the form of nodules, lumps, heavy drooping jaw line... Profhilo is a scam with good publicity! Thank you for the accurate information about fillers.
I had it twice according to the protocol from the manufacturer. There are only a few places they recommend injecting it. I had good results, although it didn't do much.
Can you talk about the removing process with hyaluronidase. A lot of people have been damaged after removing filler with volume loss, sagginess in the skin and other systemic reactions that doesen’t go away even after months..
@tracymullane8818 ~ ❤️🩹 ~ Well, I'm grateful for Dr. Goodwin's - @adamgoodwinsurgery - honesty & insight vs. being SOLD a bag of goods, i.e., Botox, fillers & cosmetic surgery - like all of it is completely FINE with zero complications; which is wholly untrue! Actually, I find Dr. Goodwin's honesty a ray of sunshine ☀️ & rainbows 🌈 - My best from Southern California 🏖️
I got fillers under eyes like 3 times (a year apart ) but unfortunately I developed something calls (festonees ) they look like under eye bags but on the cheek. I don’t know if the fillers caused this but it makes me look tired and I don’t know how to fix it. 😥. I mentioned. It to the surgeon that did my fillers and his answer was: “Sometimes this happens but you need more filler because that is not a festoon but is light “ I didn’t know what he meant with that but I run away.
I had 1mil cheek filler each side about 2.5 years ago and its still there. I knew something was up! Not complaining cause i saved myself looking like a piece of gym equipment by getting more
Great video. I've been getting botox around my crows feet for about 14 years. I have it done just twice a year, and I now often get mistaken for being 10 to 15 years younger than my actual age. I have never gone in for the frozen look and can't understand when people think that it makes them look more youthful. I always knew I was prone to squinting and that around the eyes would be where I would age the fastest so I have just focussed on that area. I might have a go at the forehead at some stage but I don't think I'd get more than one area done at a time because I really don't like that overly DONE look, particularly on men. Anyways, great video would luv to see you post one on chin implants (something I have been thinking about for a few years now).
Wonderful video! Thanks a lot for your honest . I regret deeply to put Ellanse in my face . This is a toxic plastic ! They say that will degrade in 3 years . I suffered so much pain and swallow, burn, acid tears , my face was completely destroyed! Now I am doing radio frequency and some peelings to accelerate the degrade of the PLC . It will go away for real Dr ? Mine will complete 3 years in April and is in my temper . It’s much less then before but still have a place where I can see that have a volume there and when I put my finger I don’t find nothing , is just a swallow i my right brow 😦

Thank you ! My gut feeling has always been that fillers would damage the tissues and possibly stick around. What would you recommend for smokers lines ? I have been tempted to get a thin filler in the mouth area for them . But this video scares me . If one gets fillers , you only recommend 2-3 times and then stop ? I was considering Restylane Refyne . It’s supposed to be a thin and superficial one . I’m 45 and just want a mild improvement. Maybe to look 35 again. Not 20 🤣. I’m subscribed now . Thank you 😊
so any kind of stiffening of the skin is good. laser in all its forms but pixelated is probably the best overall. micro needling or chemical peels also a good option. nothing is long term sadly..
Can you tell us about the non-invasive 7d hifu facelift. Can it cause cancer in the long run, is it dangerous damage later term. I would really appreciate it if you would provide us with some information about that. Many thanks in advance. I find your films very reliable and I also like that you inform people about the dangers of the corrupt medical and paramedical industry in this way.
I had Profhilo- waste of money. Didn't notice any difference, I have filler in the eye trough & in my cheekbones. It's subtle but the tear trough filler was the best investment, it took 10 years off my face. Also had HIFU treatment, which was pretty impressive for my neck. I always suggest trying this before the filler Great channel! 👌
I have the Tyndall effect after having my marionette’s done 😩 it’s slight and can be covered with make up but yeah, like 2 bruises at each side of my mouth for the next year or so 🙄
Interesting video. It is important to note that filler can replace lost volume, giving a more youthful appearance in many cases. Obviously, not all and some people should be referred to a highly qualified plastic surgeon. As a cosmetic injector, I fully support aging gracefully and use good skincare, SPF, and retinoids. But those things can not replace lost volume or relax muscles. If you decide to get any injectables PLEASE be sure you are going to someone highly qualified and honest.
I agree with all of that. replace lost volume with filler and relax muscle with botox. but how does correcting jowls possibly work with injectables? Thats my argument, amongst others. thanks for the feedback.
Don’t use sculptra it is dangerous as it’s a big gamble how your going to react to the product it can also cause scarring and makes it very hard if you ever want a facelift because of the scarring etc
@@hannahb3854 it is certainly vey variable in its effect and yes, the scarring makes the tissues heavier, but that is kind of the point. An experienced facelift surgeon could work around old sculptra. Thanks for the comment.
Dermal Filler has to be the worst treatment ever in the wrong hands I've experienced bad administration and it migrates and never breaks down and to have it dissolved caused permanent damage to my face 😢
I've had tear troughs in 2017 , whilst I has deep hollow trwat troughs that made me look I never slept . The filler gave me a shelf line across my mid cheek area more so when I was dehydrated . I still have 80% filler left and now only have 1 cheek with a shelf line across my cheeks most days . It has given me so much more confidence even though I was over filled but I canot believe I still have it in my face and its been 6 years and so much is left. I had juverderm too .
I had filler for the first time; never again. It doesn't look bad, you can hardly tell but I swear my eyes have dark circles now. I originally went for Botox in my left jaw because the left side of my face is fuller than the right. The Botox helped, glad I got it but I regret the filler. I hope it dissolves with no issues. The more I watch videos like this, I get scared.
Well well well. Here is a doctor who is ETHICAL. All doctors who do injectables should watch this. I have EDS and cannot believe the dangerous practices so many engage in without fully thinking about outcomes. Many EDS patients have MCAD and although even the hospital have advocated Botox I researched and believe that neurotoxin and stretching the collagen matrix with filler could result in ANA and possibly permeant neurological damage. Every time I see tear trough filler I wince. My artery is visible through my tear trough and I think to myself that despite this I would rather stick forks in my eyes and lose my vision that way than have an alien substance migrate into an artery or push into my ocular nerve and blind me slowly with filler. I wonder what will happen to people and their immune systems 30 or 20 years post filer usage. Got to be an epidemic slowly happening. This doctor is very good! Subscribed.
How about Sculptra? Yes I do have lots of scar tissues inside my cheek but it is still better than the gaunt look… But it’s true the lumps make it look not great.
I had Voluma filler into my cheek bones, just 0.5mls on each side. My bone structure is naturally good however, I wanted filler in that location in order to give my nasolabial folds a lift, it worked perfectly. That was 3 years ago and I still have good results. It's something you really REALLY need to do your homework on. Always see a qualified aesthetic nurse or dr and don't rush into it. I actually asked to have the nasolabial folds injected and was advised by my nurse that it wouldn't give me the desired outcome and could actually look more pronounced. Also had Volume in my nose as the tip is damaged due to an accident and slants downward slightly. no one noticed but I did and it bugged me. OMG! Great result, that was 9 months ago. If I had the money I would get a septoplasty to fix my tip but I am a nurse and get paid peanuts lol. Thanks for a very informative and frank talk about fillers.
I've gotten filler in my lips more than 5x. Kysse, juvederm ultra and restalyne...I love the way they look right after but the swollen look "filler" only lasts for about two weeks...after that it's like I never did anything.
My fillers on lips, and nasolabial lines are always getting inflamed, and it feels very heavy, and paiful. One of them, after root canal treatment poped out under the upper lip, and you can see tge white plastic like tissue through the mucous.
they all work, but not for as many applications as those who sell them would suggest.. only should be used for very deep applications with good skin and soft tissue cover.
@@adamgoodwinsurgery I had Sculptra with a experienced doctor, I did the recommended protocol afterwards. I immediately got inch size lumps on either side of lower cheek mouth. Wish I had never gotten it done
I had lip filler done and had some left over the individual doing my filler took it upon herself without my consent or even discussing it at all went ahead and put in under my eyes now I have a protruding obvious lump that stands out under my right eye and it gave me dark rings and bags I did not have ever unfortunately I'm in the United States so coming to see you is out of the question I'm still mad and very upset about this
Thank you so much for your honesty. So, Radiesse filler benefit is a mith too? Does the skin become lumpy , uneven and worst looking over time after regular use of Radiesse
radiesse works ok but it is longer lasting and leaves white lumps so definitely not to be used in delicate areas like under the eyes. it has to be surgically removed if its wrong.
I was using filler to try to keep my face from sagging. Big mistake. It made my face look odd. I didn't know any better. It would have been nice had the surgeon been honest and told me it wasn't a good idea. I feel like the filler stretched my face out and migrated. It just did not look good. You can't use filler when you really need a facelift.
Hi! Thank you so much for this video - I've been considering minor tweaks via filler and this has definitely brought up important points for myself. You mentioned the chin as a decent area for filler use -- does the same apply to using something like Radiasse for the jaw? Im interested in a very, very slight augmentation on one side of my jaw area simply to even out my jawline. Thanks again so much!
filler to the jawline is usually a terrible idea although for fundamental asymmetry its a possible option. just choose your practitioner wisely but if its a permanent change then radiuses is a good option.
New sub. Best info clip i have seen so far. Thanks. Going to send the Botox one to my friend who loves getting Botox. Content on Collagen was very interesting. I'm almost 60 and 18m ago lost 52kg. No longer diabetic...but my face has aged 10+ year's, easy. Cant afford Face lift...fat transfer was the best thing i looked into but again... pretty exspensive and only temporary. Would love your advice on how to stimulate collagen? I do take a collagen supplement and mindful of A, B, C nutrition. Am going to try an extended fast...but that's more for internal health. Any advice welcome.
by the time you Reach your 60s, the senility of your skin proteins will inevitably lead to sagging. you can't replace that. just keep out of the sun and moisturise.
I’m just binge watching your videos. Glad I came across them as you are local to me and heard your name a lot but most who make videos are American. You put me off a brow lift after your other video. I have hollowing to my temples which is causing lateral eyebrow to sink. I wanted filler there and now don’t know what to do. So confused. I saw a lady makeup artist had it done and she definitely looked younger for it as you could see the bones and hollows on the side of her head. Help.
@@adamgoodwinsurgery thanks for your reply. Think I already watched that but don’t remember the it mentioning decent of lateral brow. It’s literally around 3mm and thinking brow filler instead of the forehead lift that you don’t recommend.
that's such a complicated question but simply speaking, if you want to subtly augment an area of the face temporarily. the lips, cheeks and chin are the best locations.
Excellent! Would be nice to see some stuff around the proposed changes in regulation. Scotland have recently made changes but it appears this regulation is only for medics. Great videos 👍🏼
I’ve been considering filler for the tip of my chin… would it possibly spread under my chin and cause sagging? This fear is why i’ve so far avoided it!
I had a terrible infection from filler on my right cheek and had abscesses that needed to be drained 5 times. I am left with a big dent in my right cheek and a very noticeable loss of volume, my skin is stuck to the bone with major fat loss. My dermatologist says I shouldn't touch it for a year but it is so depressing. Do you have any suggestions? thank you.
I had the same thing, on my left cheek. I was in hospital about 7 times over 14 months, and had the abscesses drained 5 times under a general anasthetic. I had every antibiotic on earth I think, even the very old one for TB. I was so ill. I now have a big white scar on my cheek. The last time I had the abscess drained I asked the surgeon to lift my skin off the bone to unstick the scar. It left me with some facial paralysis for a while and I couldn't close my left eye properly. That eventually got better when the swelling went down and I've got normal eye function again now. I had a biofilm infection (skin strep) that still flares up in the very old filler (8+ years) when I get run down. It's horrible stuff if you get an infection. Just horrible. My friends still get filler, even though they watched what I went through.
@@alisonholloway6726 Wow, so sorry for your ordeal! As someone who has suffered similar occurrences but definitely not as bad, it has left me disfigured and scarred! I can really empathize with you! I was very worried about biofilm and although my bacteria turned out to be sterile, it was never confirmed as biofilm and luckily I only had one round of antibiotics. What is difficult is the lack of support when you have a filler infection, my injector supported me at the beginning but when the going got really tough she opted out! When you have nowhere to turn and don't have the funds to go to a plastic surgeon, it's so distressing. I ended up in an emergency at a hospital and was referred to the dermatology unit which helped me drain the abscesses each week as they appeared! I don;t know where I would be without that as it was covered by the government, I am from Canada. There are so many medical practitioners using fillers and not enough resources and support for when it goes wrong because it happens even in the hands of experienced injectors!
I had filler 10 years ago. I am now 70 and decided not to keep it up on most of my face. I can see hollows just under my cheek bones that were once filled. Not bad, probably no lay person would notice. I am still filling nasolabial folds done to my natural frown. Filling here has helped and I plan to continue. I do not agree that young women should not get filler for any reason. Side note, my doctor has told me at some point nothing will work except a face lift. My goal was never to look years younger. I wanted to look less grumpy! Smiling does not take away the lines caused rom sleeping on my side causing a crease on my face.
6:48 im confused..so everytime a needle or blunt cannula goes in to the skin causes lines of scar tissue inside? Then what about treatments like radiesse or sculptra? Or microneedling? Is it worth to stimulate collagen to have scarring then?
scarring is collagen and vice versa. that is what these treatments are designed to do, but they are sold as replacing lost collagen, which is not exactly true. they leave behind new scar collagen instead.
Can migration be avoided on the lips? Or is it inevitable depending on the lips? I went to a highly rated surgeon twice and it seems like the filler migrated from both my top and bottom lip (my lips are naturally thin)
Greetings ~ I am watching from Southern California; wish things were as transparent here regarding cosmetic procedures re injectibles or surgeries. Thank you for your honesty ... ❤️🩹
I don't think it does cause any damage. Your own HA recycles naturally every 5-7 days. we use HA in almost every operation in plastic surgery and it doesn't seem to cause problems.

Great suggestion!
As someone who is careless with my DIY and other things; I've always been extremely wary and will not get fillers or Botox.… Thank you for your honesty. Would like to see videos on radio frequency, microcurrent, sonic, laser. Thanks
Thanks for sharing!!
In my case it's great, my lips were never overfilled and they look natural now, but damn it could be different for someone who hates their filler :/
Edit: finished the video, wow, he has seen patients with filler placed 10 years ago 😱 damn
20 years even!
I mean if u hate ur filler then yeah it sucks it doesn’t dissolve on its own..but if u still like ur filler and its been in there for 10+ years so what?? Ur still somewhat getting the effect
Does it not make your lip cover your teeth more when you talk ?

I find facial yoga gives me a more youthful look.
Love this very honest and researched explanations on fillers! I’ve gone through a traumatic bike accident loosing the mandibles in my jaw many years ago & I’ve wondered how can I get the volume back in my jaw area. I did undergo several surgeries to re-brake my jaws so that I could close my mouth, not for aesthetic purposes… and then a final one to put one small implant to recreate the loss of volume (mostly on my right side of face where I was hit)
Unfortunately , the implant wouldn’t take and had to be removed asap ( it caused infections)
I wonder, trying not to be obsessing, how my face would look now if I had my volume back.
To inject might be an option ?
However I’ve been through enough and this video is great , showing the downfalls of injections.
Having had several MAXILLO facial surgeries , I understand the difficulties.
Can you make some videos about laser, RF, and micro needling technologies?
sure thanks for the suggestion
Please make a video about threads, dangers, complications, benefits etc.
Thank you for the most informative video on fillers available and in an easy for everyone to understand language!

We have to change the way we look at age over 35

Avoid unnecessary procedures. That’s my experience anyway

I got fillers under eyes like 3 times (a year apart ) but unfortunately I developed something calls (festonees ) they look like under eye bags but on the cheek. I don’t know if the fillers caused this but it makes me look tired and I don’t know how to fix it. 😥. I mentioned. It to the surgeon that did my fillers and his answer was:
“Sometimes this happens but you need more filler because that is not a festoon but is light “
I didn’t know what he meant with that but I run away.

I had Profhilo- waste of money. Didn't notice any difference, I have filler in the eye trough & in my cheekbones.
@@adamgoodwinsurgery exactly. I had my injector try to talk me into correcting my jowling with filler and not a deep plane facelift.

Great suggestion! although its not the best product in my experience. just ok.

I'm considering doing to somewhere else on my body before I do my face. I have no idea how my system will react.

Subscribed.
EDS although rare is something we hav all seen and we have no idea what the added effects of EDS are on facial fillers. Thanks for the comment.
I have Eds and have been getting Sculptra in the temple and face for years along with fillers and botox.

How about Sculptra? Yes I do have lots of scar tissues inside my cheek but it is still better than the gaunt look…
But it’s true the lumps make it look not great.
Thanks for a very informative and frank talk about fillers.
it can work if judged well. sadly not all filler is well judged. thanks for the comment.

Hi! Thank you so much for this video - I've been considering minor tweaks via filler and this has definitely brought up important points for myself. I’ve been considering filler for the tip of my chin… would it possibly spread under my chin and cause sagging? This fear is why i’ve so far avoided it!
no very unlikely. as long as your practitioner has experience and keeps it to the tip of your chin. thanks for your question.
Do you have any suggestions? thank you.
probably fat transfer. I have a video on facial fat transfer that might be of some help.
Omg never go back
The infection was right after getting the filler or months later?

I had filler 10 years ago. I am now 70 and decided not to keep it up on most of my face. I can see hollows just under my cheek bones that were once filled. Not bad, probably no lay person would notice. I am still filling nasolabial folds done to my natural frown. Filling here has helped and I plan to continue. I do not agree that young women should not get filler for any reason. Side note, my doctor has told me at some point nothing will work except a face lift. My goal was never to look years younger. I wanted to look less grumpy! Smiling does not take away the lines caused rom sleeping on my side causing a crease on my face.
all sounds good and happiness is all our goal.
What about hylase to dissolve the filler ? How to dissolve filler without using it ? Die to the risk of huge loss of skin tissue?
hyalase doesn't do any harm to your own tissue. just foreign body filler.
Great Video, Thank you.
I am les sure that filler migrates than it is metabolised at different rates depending on the size of the lumps.
