    2:37 I know this video is a few months old but I thought I would give a heads up on that point. I don't know about the regular Fastback but the 6 in 1 version DOES have a spare blade slot. It's on the INSIDE of the side that lacks the pocket clip. If you look closely you can see a bit of the plastic handle cut away to allow access to the retention tab that keeps the spare blade in place. The fastback 6 in 1 doesn't ship with a blade in there but the slot does exist.

    I work at Lowes, and I know this was about $10 or less tools, but if one's budget can increase another $10 or so check out LENOX brand at Lowes, a very good and strudy brand IMO. For example, the LENOX LX250 vs Milwaukee FASTBACK Utility Knife, as wel as many other tools. IRWIN tools are a winner too. The one brand at Lowes I'm indifferent about is Craftsman and they're not a bad tool brand I own some Craftsman stuff, it's just Kobalt is a budget friendly Lowes brand and everything is backed and guarnteed by Lowes. If you buy a Kobalt tool at Lowes and it breaks a year or two later, take it back and pick out another one. My point though, is why have two budget brands competing in the same store/

I returned it and picked up the Kobalt 24 in 1 driver instead. It is like the 4mm driver you show here, but with a larger Chuck that accepts both 4 mm and quarter inch bits, and a fatter handle that holds double-ended quarter inch bits inside. It is a chonky boy. But it is the best selection of bits I've ever had in a multi bit driver. T6 through T25, and Ph000 through Ph3.

    When the Nite Ize gear ties came out many years ago, I jumped on the band wagon. But I found with repeated use the metal piece inside the rubber snapped in every one. And it didn't take much either. They are probably ok if tied around something and not repeatedly opened and closed. I have not used them since. I wonder if this flaw has been improved. I doubt it as I do t see them used by content makers anymore. Budget gear is great to a certain extent, but I can't help but wonder how long these items in your video will last with frequent use. My experience is that budget gear usually does not last. For example, what about the quality of the Craftsman bits? How well do they stand up when used compared to say WIHA bits? Please do a followup video on this gear after you have used these items for at least a couple of months. I would like to know how well this stuff holds up. My experience with Kobalt branded tools has not been great. Mostly its crap.

    • @DianaTheLance
      @DianaTheLance Год назад

      My ratcheting screwdriver from kobolt still works mostly fine but you can tell the quality control isn’t there. The two-way ratcheting of extremely hit or miss as to whether it’s going to bind up or not and the bit extension just straight up doesn’t fit. I had another before that would occasionally bind and that had an usable bit extension, but they’re mainly only worth considering for when that double ratcheting is needed.

I cut my leg open pretty good and I had some dirt, from when I fell yesterday. Since I had some hand wipes and gauze pads, I was able to clean out my cut and bandage it up. I have some medical tape as well. I think that would make for a good video. It's just a thought. I seen some videos of yours on first aid but I never thought about hand wipes. I got some for free at a restaurant, but I just ordered some. Even just working on a car, bike, or motorcycle, you can get grease on your hands and I can't believe how useful they can be. Even just cleaning your tools, after you use them, so they are clean in your edc pouch. I hope this helps. I really enjoy your videos.

I've got Irwin vice grips and hole saws that have outlasted tool truck brand tools and straight up embarrassed them. The best bit driver set you can get in my opinion comes from mac but that's a huge difference in price point. Craftsman has went to crap since sears went out of business. A hammer is a hammer is a hammer. Pocket sharpies for the win. I just bought a Olight for the reversible clip. Those pliers are straight up junk, grab you a set of mini knipex, they have inverted teeth and extremely good grip. That cobalt ratcheting screwdriver blew my mind that is good engineering. I loved this video and that's why I had so much to say and I really hope you don't think I'm badmouthing you in anyway I know you had to work with a budget. I'm a mechanic so when I see crap tools I know they are crap tools. Looking forward to watching more videos from you.

    How about Ace Hardware? I think Target has a hardware section as well, I think. I would say Meijer but I think Indiana, Ohio and Michigan are the only States with Meijer.

    the previous model fastback utility knife was far superior to the one in the video. i have owned two of the knives shown here and with both, the action was sticky.
    also the composite handle is actually a bonus imho, i preferred it to metal. another thing, the irwin is kinda ugly and is also way thicker.
    the lack of blade storage does kinda suck, but thats the price you pay for the slim design.

    I'll have to try the index cards (be here tomorrow).
    I've been using stitched thin note pads with graph lines, I get the bigger ones then cut them to fit my shirt pocket but, they're not all weather. Rain is not really an issue for me but, sweat will soon be.
