    Thank you for making this, you've helped me a bit, buutt I am still debating if psych is for me, and if I am even a person to study it. I'm just scared there will be soo much work, and I won't even get time for myself and to fuck around (meaning: doing all that crazy college stuff, and being free in a sense).

    I'm not good at math's and I got 13 percent as a final in my third year psychology stats class. I don't know what its like in Scotland, but here in Canada third year stats is the make or break of most peoples degree in psychology. 70 percent of people ended up failing that stats class in my university too so I'm not alone. I did end up getting the degree after 2 more years of back breaking work and psychological trauma, so yay me.

    Hello, I am currently looking at psychology programs. Can you please help me understand which LMS do undergraduate psychology students use at your University?
    Also, how do teachers deliver their course material to students? What platforms and learning resources do they use? Or do they just use books?
    Will I as student pay for those materials or are they part of the tuition?
    Do I need to find course material at the university library or on specific online platforms?
    Thank you! N

    Im finishing school right now..and i have my final exams..im pretty stressed to be honest..here in my country i put psychology as my first choice ..and basically it depends on the grade I'll get on the exams..i realised that i liked psychology ,when people who had difficulties and stuff asked for my help..and i literally wrote paragraphs of advices and things to do..but i am not sure if that means that i actually like it.. i don't know what i feel but the one thing i can say for sure is that i feel insanely amazing when im helping someone..However i do feel scared that if i go to university I'll end up not liking it..i would love anyone's advice or suggestion on how to handle this and how i can increase the love i have for psychology

    Thank you for informative video 🙏🏻 I’m learning about the school psychology field. I heard some information about working with difficult behaviors. But I don’t know how accurate it is. Is it possible that you come across a student with dangerous behaviors, such as throwing chairs, or throwing sharp objects at others? If such a student comes for testing to your office, and during testing, he imposes dangerous to you, can you tell your supervisor or your school administrator that you cannot work with that child anymore? I’m thinking to apply for school psychology program. Thank you very much for your advice.

    • @AshleyMacleod
      @AshleyMacleod  4 года назад +6

      I can only speak from my personal experience but I assume that it’s similar for different universities.
      Statistics has been a fundamental part of the course at every level. I wouldn’t worry about it too much because they start you off at a basic level e.g. mean, median, mode, range. A lot of students struggle with it and so additional support is given to those who need it. I’m terrible at maths, but I don’t struggle too much with it. You aren’t required to carry out complex calculations as the software you use (SPSS) carries them out for you.
      Statistics is important because the majority of studies you read about and conduct yourself will require a statistical analysis of the data.

      Depends what uni you’re wanting to go to. For example, at Aberdeen there is no difference between the two. However at some others there is a difference in the course itself, BSc is more science based, while BA is more behavioural based
