    Swinging soft hackles is where it's at. You get to fish beneath the surface but it's still elegant and graceful, unlike when fishing with nymphs and weight. Oh how I can't stand how Euro nymphers pluck their fly out of the water at the end of the drift, as though plucking feathers from a chicken. Still, I like nymphing when all is said and done, and I really enjoy reading Rick's work on nymphs and nymphing, if not because it's fascinating, then because it's edifying, in my humble opinion.
