So I really wish you'd do a "B is for Build a shop" series. I.e renovate, organize, upgrade your shop with new equipment. I'm not trying to rag or anything but your place looks sort of dumpy now and I think it would be really cool to see/follow the transformation. I'm sure the sponsors would be lining up to help you out and I think your viewers love to follow the build.
He could spend a week cleaning that dump up and with end a week after he would have it all messed up. Look how he paint's he Sand's his shit in same please he paint's. I know he's trying to dyi it but I thank he needs to pay someone else paint his car's it would save a little money in the long run. But back to what you said it can't be done he is a little piggy.
Who is going to pay for all that? Money doesnt grow on trees bud. I'm sure in the future sponsors would be happy to hook him up. He probably just hasn't had the opportunity yet. Maybe when he surpasses 1 million subs or moves into a larger more professional shop. Both tj hunt and adam lz moved into larger shops and both got tool sponsors. They however both have over a million subs.
I commented exactly this when Chris was looking for recommendations on what to do with his "paint booth". Drywall must be pretty cheap in the US since all of the houses are built with it. He can box off that ceiling which is full of dust by now, paint the drywall white and with the same lights he has now, he will get a much better lit room for painting. He can also improvise with steel wire fencing and some re-bar construction to create a raised floor, similar to the ones found in a paint booth. Then the "wet floor" trick will work even better. The most important thing is to stop using that room for sanding panels and storing cars that sat outside for 3 months without washing them first.
Once you get big, lots of people are ready and willing to help. Not so much as you're coming up on the grind. Chris has networked really well, and made lots of friends along the way.
After 9999 videos putting primer on the supra and 6.7, now the civic (kinda) you really are the man to call if someone has primer questions, btw I love your content trevor keep it up

I feel like he is painting all the time. I don't expect him to be a professional painter. He is learning as he goes and the point is to get nice rides for cheap and then drive them. It works. Good job Chris 👏
When it comes to pearls you need to spray everything in the same direction. Hang the doors and anything else up so everything lays flat. Also you’re never going to match up this color by not blending into other panels or the entire vehicle itself.
When I was younger, I worked in a garage, I did allot of jig and panel work, not a whole lot of spraying, but ill always remember what this older panel beater told me . . If your ever spaying panels 'off' the car, you should orientate them in the same way that they are on the car.. especially with metallic paints, its got to do with how the paint and flecks settle? Hope this helps in some way. Nice job though, its gonna look great when finished 👌🏻
Yeah it dried, but hey look at the conditions I live in Miami nice and hot it's freezing where he is at and with all that, paint job still came out great. I just want to see it put together I like the BMW build with Tavarish, but been waiting on this video lol.
Its funny because I met him at sema and I told him my story. I watch his plan b paint job and told myself I would learn how to paint and now I’m graduating collision repair automotive just because I watch his first vid.
I respect that you put your failures out there and it seems like you could care less. I really appreciate that. Keep it up. Everyone has to start somewhere and this is a lesson on persistence.
I'm glad you had a successful paint job! That's a difficult thing to accomplish unless you have a paint booth or perfect conditions. But... On camera you can clearly see the difference in the pearl. Maybe it's not bad in person.. maybe the car was faded or dirty.. I'm a firm believer in, unless your using factory paint... Like an exact code match... If you notice a difference, you gotta paint the whole thing.
Glad to see you taking your time to get this right, it looks really difficult and no one should blame you for not rushing it. Keep it up, I'm sure it will look awesome in the end!
B is not for paint.. but it looks good, "professional" may be stretching it. I keep reminding myself i watch this for entertainment, probably not the best vid for learning how to paint lol! But congrats on finishing the paint work! Looking forward to the final product. I sure hope its better than the Z4, too many corners cut with that one.
I gave up with watching his supra videos, couldn't deal with anymore of the body work, it was just hours of him doing the same thing and not actually getting anywhere
I find it really co how you can actually see how much the ventilation helps. Back in the day you could see a fog or haze build up in the air and never dissipate. Now you can even kinda see it being sucked out by the fan
You need to scuff more by hand rather than using the machine. Those burned through spots on the bumper at 02:50 were really unnecessary.. love the project tho
hats off too you bro. I dabbled with automotive painting for a little an man the sheer drying times and prep work and masking, cleaning, variables drove me up the wall especially when your doing a customers car... but when its your personal project its a little less stressful. but I think your doing a great job keep it up.
Are you painting the entire car? It appears to me the wide-body kit is a different color than the fender and rear quarter panel? Can't wait for more content.
I run a similar paint booth in garage. I placed furnace mesh filter material over interior side of fan. It extends fan life and avoids over spraying neighbors houses, cars, etc.

IMO any time i do any paint or sanding work, the FIRST thing I do is turn my fan on. Helps to get any extra dust in the air, out. I noticed you went back and forth from sanding to painting a lot. The less dust you can have in the air, the better! Fresh air is good air, usually! Good shit! Stoked to see how this is coming along.
