Our trip up the Oregon Coast was not only to see the incredible coastline but also to meet up with good friends who now live in Washington and also friends who were traveling to Seaside from Montana to meet us! Both of the couples names are Matt and Danielle, so it got a little confusing there for a minute!
We got the rig parked and drove about an hour and a half to see our friends in Washington and got an incredible view of Mount St. Helens on our way there! We had a delicious brunch (isn’t brunch the best!) and then headed out to the Columbia River at Willow Grove Park. We ended up staying there with our friends for the night and headed back the next day to meet the second set of Matt and Danielles!
We hung out at Cannon Beach with our friends and then headed to Seaside, Oregon, where we found the best food at Dundee’s Bar and Grill. We highly recommend it the next time you are in the area!

I don’t understand why this channel is not growing faster. You actually show us the places you travel to, provide information, show us the fun side of rving and discuss the downsides. It’s a great way to pass they time for sure! Some times we will listen to the director/actors commentary for movies that we have watched, it’s really interesting! There’s a screen in the back that the girls watch we just listen up front. It’s movies that we have watched multiple times and are familiar with.
Kindergarden Cop was also filmed in Astoria. You can see the school from the road when you past the Maritime Museum.

We stopped at the French Cheese Factory Harvest Host in 2019 and then went to Tillamook and toured it. The tour was less than spectacular, but the cheese, yogurt, and ice cream are second to none! Funny thing was that we were there so early, we were not only the single Truck/RV on the parking lot, but we were the only ones on the parking lot. We walked in the employee’s entrance and had breakfast there with the employees. No one even said a thing to us about being there before hours!
Nice you spent time with friends and brought breakfast brunch. Great idea to do for friends. Nice scenery as well. Oregon is nice when it does not rain. That’s why their grease is always green. That was cute with that dog sniffing Coreys fur ball for his camera. That water looked nice.
UH Corey the kids are right this time they are floating houses.... not house boats. A boat has a motor and can be moved from place to place but a floating house cannot. Love the video.
Scotch Broom is a hay fever sufferers worst enemy. We have it in Washington as well. The cool thing about it is it's THE best anchor for hill sides/bluffs. The roots go down so deep! Tillamook cheese is the absolute best!

Another wonderful trip guys! Personally cruises just don't do it for me. I think what bothers me about them you're only in port a few hours and you go on excursions yes.But when I go to another country I want to actually stay there a few days and explore it. So for me cruises just start my thing. But I know people love them all that endless food and drink. But I do love going out on boats and sailing. Now that's a lot of fun and just like little sunset cruises on like a 64 ft yacht. Love your pic in your honeymoon. Really cute! You both still look exactly the same! We lived on the Oregon coast. Late summer and fall is always the best weather.
So fun to see the Tillamook Factory. We love their cheese and ice cream…Bob’s favorite is Carmel Toffee Crunch and yes we can get it in NC! The breakfast sandwiches looked awesome.
Life got so much better when Tillamook ice cream and cheese started showing up in stores all over the country!😉 And I think we need to make breakfast sandwiches tomorrow! 😂
Just a thought (as someone who's also on a tight budget), the Elite program with Thousand Trails has saved me SO much money over the last 2.5 years of full-time living. You can get them used for around $3,500 or finance a new one through TT. Either way, they pay for themselves quickly (I average $1.85 per night in camping costs).
Seaside is one of our favorite places.
And a full tank of diesel is happiness.
It is such a beautiful spot and I couldn't agree with you more about the full tank! FREEDOM!💪
When it comes to running out of gas or stopping at that creepy gas station to not run out of gas, creepy gas station it is. Gotta look mean to establish your dominance to get that gas. 🤣😅
Oregon coast line. Too beautiful. The sand turtle looks cool. I always feel like I can do something like that in the sand. But, it turns into nothing.
I have perfected my, "I'll pump the fuel myself" look! 😂 And I'll let the kids tackle the sand sculptures, too!
The Columbia River originates near Jasper Alberta and is one of the largest rivers by volume in North America. Ocean-going freighters go inland to Portland and beyond. The entrance to the Columbia River from the Pacific can be quite treacherous
It was really great to see the enterance and drive along inland. Crazy to see the tankers pass us on the river's edge!

You need Trailstorm Hikers from Columbia Sporting, men and women. They are great to hike and water in. Very comfortable and hold on to your feet in Kauai waves.

For the price of a cruise, you could do a sailing cruise 'n learn. It's a week on a sailboat in Puget sound or other maritime areas where they teach you to sail and you get certifications so you can rent boats the next time you want to go out. A floating hotel isn't my idea of a good time, but being able to go to the bahamas and go out on a 40' sailboat with my family sounds awesome.

Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. Oregon Coast is an awesome place to visit. The Tillamook factory is a really cool tour. The "hair museum" we did not visit lol. The beaches. Saint Helens was steaming when we were there.

Any place that gives you cheese while your tour their facility wins in our book! 😉 I bet it was awesome to see the mountain steaming. Definitely want to go back and see more of that area next time! Oregon & Washington are beautiful states: Sadly we use too visit Portland allot; and this past year wife had to close two offices one in Portland and one just outside. Awful government but a beautiful state. So glad your showing us the beautiful side to this state.

I just recently found you guys on RUclips. I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos. I am from California and will be ordering my 5th wheel today. I am going to be full timing soon. I have traveled the coast from San Diego all the way to Astoria but was always in a hurry to get from point A to point B. This video brings back so many memories. When we lived in Clatskanie, inland from Astoria, we would take our jet skis out on the Columbia River and jump the big ocean liners wake, as they traveled up the river to the Port of Portland. Their wakes are huge! We love this area. Cannon Beach was where my daughter had her first beach adventure. Thank you, for taking me down memory lane! Beautiful photography, as always! Jess, we both have the same affliction. I too have no self control when it comes to ice cream...particularly Tillamook "Mud Slide". My affliction is so bad, my wife won't let me serve myself, even after more than 59 years of marriage.
I got it from my dad. He loved ice cream! I love that your wife won't let you serve yourself. Maybe I should make Corey scoop my ice cream so I have a better limit! 😂 - Jess
@@FindingOurSomeday my dad, a ME downeaster, credited his long life (99 years) to "2 fingers of scotch before dinner and a custard cup of ice cream after dinner". My mom regulated his serving size 'cause he had our same "affliction". 😂

We stayed at the same Seaside RV park in June, the grass was a foot high around the picnic table.
They do have a lot of grass there!
Beautiful productions, so well done. Never had a chance to comment on your Fern Canyon day which brought back so many memories for me. I travelled there with some college buddies way back in 1975, middle of May. We parked at the beach and made our way up the stream and I remember being mesmerized, stunned by the raw beauty. There were no other explorers on that day, and we lost ourselves in the trees for hours, emerging back to the beach as the sun was setting. The stream crossing planks and paths were not there. The redwoods and canyon welcomed, and changed us forever.
Thank you ! And dang that sounds like an epic experience! Exploring back then without the crowds makes me jealous 😃 we do alright with crowds though. timing visits to places with the seasons and simply going early.

Always interested in perspectives of fining adventures on the road, especially when traveling in an RV.
I'm so enjoying this trip. I've mentioned it before, but I use to take my son to Cannon Beach, Seaside, Columbia River route for spring break. Bringing back such great memories. Of course it doesn't help that I am sitting with snow all around me :-) Haha maybe instead of house boat it would be house barge.

If you didn't go to Mt. St. Helens then you really need to do so! It was just such an amazing place with views that will make your mouth drop! My cousins live in that area so we've been a couple of times. Astoria was great and I simply love that green bridge. So glad you guys had such a great time in that area! MERRY CHRISTMAS you guys!

Just recently subscribed. Glad to see someone positive regarding Thousand Trails. We got our zone pass in 2018 free when we bought a Jayco hybrid and have kept it with 2 zones. We have moved on to a GD Transcend that is larger and still love it. We have camped 30 - 40 nights a year so it has cost us $13-20/night each season. Can't beat that for what most of the time has been full hook ups and plenty of amenities.
Same for us, we got our first pass when we bought our trailer! It works well for us during certain times of the year! Glad it’s working for you as well!

It sure looked like the weather was amazing while there with your friends. We love the mountains however, the beach always rejuvenates the heart, and soul. It relaxes you from driving. I missed donuts in this video😊
