Thanks to this video I cleaned up plenty of space and discovered a backdoor for malware (direct uni installer). After running malwarebytes I discovered I had nearly 600 infected files. My pc performance has significantly improved since cleaning unnecessary files and removing the malware, thanks a million.
My disk C had only 5% left of space, thanks to this video I went back to having 75% of free space! I was thinking about upgrading it, but this really helps me and save money!
The prefetch folder is a subfolder of the Windows system folder. The prefetch folder is self-maintaining, and there's no need to delete it or empty its contents. If you empty the folder, Windows and your programs will take longer to open the next time you turn on your computer.
The prefetch folder is used by Windows to load program more quickly on startup. By deleting it, you'll be forcing your system to recreate all of the files again whenever you launch each program, thereby lowering performance, at least temporarily.
This cleared up roughly 42gb of space for me. I wasn't experiencing any slowness but rather needed space. I still need more but 42gb is definitely substantial. This works and is very simple.
This is basic maintenance as IT guy did very often. Yet been out for several years so forgot a great deal pf it. This video is great reminder. Next thing i will do is to cleanup register using Ccleaner
This video helped me a lot I've been trying to get onto vrchat but my computer didn't have enough space this video allowed me to improve the frame rate and the FPS on it
also just to let you know when you uninstall a program sometimes the program files might still be on your computer so it would be a good idea to go into the program files folder and make sure that there is no folder of the program you just uninstalled and if there is one you can go ahead and delete it.

I've always thought I keep my drives somewhat clean, clear the recycle bin, delete unused apps frequently etc2, but damn those temp and prefetch got me back 30 gigs. And i notice boot time takes 5 secs shorter (already an ssd bug hey every second counts). Thanks
