    Austin Parks just threw in the towel with Polaris. Jeff Rush also switched to a Renegade this year, so as of now there isn't a 4x4 A, B, C or Senior rider using a Scrambler/Sportsman. I was hoping you guys would add the 850 Renegade/Outlander to the list as Some 4x4 pros use or switched to one. Having owned numerous Scramblers my 850 Renegade is faster than my Polaris with max effort.

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion  3 года назад +2

      It makes sense that an 850 would be faster in an XC environment.. I didn't know Austin switched, we talked at IXCR King of the Mountain which was like May-ish... Credit to all you guys for the extra work involved in racing Polaris for so long!

      seems like the scramblers cant take the beating of xc racing i have never ridden one but actually raced a renegade one time years ago and loved it id love to have one someday but not sure if id want to invest in racing it!

    • @PhillyLS1
      @PhillyLS1 3 года назад +3

      @@ononewheel7 it's a long story. However the story has been told to me over and over by different guys with no agenda. Polaris didn't sink any R&D into the platform. Instead they had a few pros do all the work for them. That's why they basically changed nothing. Can Am uses feedback from racers to improve their product.
      The Scrambler suffers from a plague of problems, even with TRIPLE the investment you put into a Renegade AND the replacement parts for Polaris are DOUBLE. The Scrambler is heaver, slower, with poor brakes and a bigger turning radius. Bro I could write an essay of how inferior they are to Can Am. In fact, if I had to do it all over again and couldn't use a Renegade? I'd use a 4x4 Yamaha.

    Id always choose a Polaris, I like can ams, but Polaris using the MacPherson Struts on their bikes, makes them handle so we'll, and also stupid comfortable.

    • @tylerrusty1122
      @tylerrusty1122 3 года назад

      MacPherson Struts are a layout of suspension, you can change the shock to say a Fox Shock if you want to. MacPherson Struts are real good for drifting and high performance, and polaris tunes it for comfort, while still being great in corners.

    I've never had any real problems out of my scrambler. Its got 700 hours on it and for most of the time, I'm flat out on the throttle. I ride trails and race it. The only problem I've had is the stock clutch. With an aftermarket clutch, I outrun almost any machine even sxs's in drags and on trails

    Speed is often a matter of perspective, it's why some folks often never use brakes, they only slow you down. On a serious note, out of the fast quads in this vid, I'd go with the YFZ. I heard a saying, you don't have to actually be fast, you just have to look fast.

I come from the enduro and mx world but a bad back has me questioning a change in rides. I did 8-10 laps recently on a mx track (first time riding after back surgery) and it wrecked my back for a week. Looking for tips or model recommendations. 6 foot 220 lbs living in Colorado.

      @DirtObseXXion  2 года назад +1

      Hey Kyle, sorry to hear all that brother.. What type of riding are you interested in? We're fans of solid axle sport quads like the Raptor 700, which is a great choice for a guy your size.. But if you're looking for a smoother trail experience then a 4x4 ATV like the Grizzly 700 or CanAm Outlander might be a good choice.. We haven't had great luck with Polaris ATVs so I don't really like recommending them.. Fortunately in your job you should get the chance to sit on them and see which one fits you best.. • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion  3 года назад +1

      Yeah the Renegade is pretty fast.. But if you're on an XC trail where they actually race them, they're too big and heavy to be quick through tight woods... I also think there's a huge difference on hills, if you run that ltr up a long steep hill back to back with the Renegade you'll start to feel the limitations of the CVT vs chain.. In your area I bet it's much faster tho. When we drag raced one on a flat surface it took off like a rocket

The 1000 is really cool, but you honestly can't use that much power on trails. We've owned and tested Outlanders and really like those too.. Outlanders and renegades are basically the same. Outlanders just have more plastics and racks.

    • @DirtObseXXion

      I wish I got paid.. Off the line the Scrambler S was faster because it's clutching was more tame and it's chasis kept the front end down.. With a good start the canams are faster, but a good start is harder to achieve with more aggressive clutching and a shorter wheel base..
