Sometimes I forget that Reto is amazing at Roguelikes but then runs like this remind me how good he really is! Really, enjoying the series right now!
Whenever I doubt his skill I go back to atomicrop
I know, every time I see him showcase a new rouge like I think the game might be too easy because he wins immediately. And then I remember Reto is the rougelike GOAT and these games are incredibly hard to
I don't ever forget it when I think about my winrate being ~33% and his apparently over 90% but yeah, this really drives it home.
The icing on the cake is he's talking while doing all this. Fukin mind blowing.
Agreed, he makes normal runs look so easy and then I try them and am reminded that he is indeed a professional 😂
The fact that you can not only win pretty convincingly at the entire game on the highest difficulty up to the point you knew, but also get over halfway into a sight-read final superboss (unless there's another one after it. oh, god, there's probably another one), WHILE COMMENTATING, continues to astound me every time you pull something like this off. New final boss looks super cool and like a really fun fight if the screen doesn't randomly explode, though!
I just genuinely don't think a game with such well-designed boss fights should ALLOW enchantments on bosses even as an extra difficulty modifier. It seems kind of antithetical to the well-oiled machine that is the bosses in this game. I understand it for the trash mob fights, because it's reasonably more manageable there, even if I'm not a big fan of the execution, but it just doesn't feel correct in the bosses. Bosses are supposed to be a pure expression of skill, and this is like the only time the game doesn't respect that
Retromation- Casually turns on all negative modifiers to get them out of the way.
Me- Fails to complete the "Defeat death with four classes" ...again
The blue sign for the shop at 49:26 means that you spend souls not gold, so you could have bought stuff.
Genuinely, it's impressive you got that far with all those curses impeding you, _especially_ on the final fight, geez.
I know jank-proofing every enemy/enchantment combo is unlikely but I'd hope they will consider blacklisting whatever put that central aoe thing during the hexagon attack on the final boss. Doesn't seem reasonable to put borderline forced hits in a boss fight that long.
37:30 potions, infusions and booze are considered buffs too, so that trait is very good. Also booze is OP in this game, you should buy it every time you visit the tavern, I always drink to maximum tipsiness and buy 2 extra booze for when one stack expires
It's absurd how Reto makes that run seems to be easy, I didn't understand what was going on the screen half of the time. Soooo bullet hell!
Proximity defense on Geryon is brutal man
I absolutely love watching you play this game, and at least so far every run has been so so different that it keeps it fresh and interesting, I would love for this series to stay!!
Thanks for putting me on this game, having a blast with it. Amount of content is kinda crazy for early access
Forced spawn atamatone I love it whens the first album drop 😂
Good god, you're absolutely cracked at this game!
I know its not fun and i know u wont do it agai but seeing u play the hardest difficulty and almost winning the final(?) Boss makes me so happy and i just want u to have another robusta year 10 like achivment... is that to much to ask 😉
Really love this game, and watching someone who is far better at it than me playing alongside my runs has been a delight. I absolutely agree that 80% of the cinder penalties are just genuinely unfun and don't match the style of gameplay this game is going for At All. My only recourse so far has been that the XP return on them has diminishing returns, as if the dev themself is actively trying to tell me that going above 8 cinder is just a mistake xD
Yeah, no, that was just garbage. I'm not sure if boss enchants used to have a per-boss blacklist, or if it's moreso just the game having easier bosses in previous versions, but I don't remember anything being that utterly ridiculous prior to this update (except *maybe* cinder 16 Mega Death, but even then...). Also, the reason why the last boss seemed to have such a completely bonkers amount of health was because of Proximity Defense; it reduces the damage the enchanted enemy takes if you're not close to it. Combined with newly-bullshittified Battery Enchant, and that's just a brutal combo. Although it's not enough to stop normal enemy rooms from being anything more than noticably a bit more tanky, so I'm not sure exactly how large the damage resistance is. I'm guessing 30-50% or so? Even then, the last boss took 3 and a half minutes or so just to get halfway through its second phase, which is kind of nuts considering most Tiny Rogues bosses drop in about 30 seconds or less without the Cinder modifier clobbering your damage for 8 seconds.
Now imagine cinder 16 with a close ranged weapon
I hope im not repeating something some else has said but, the shops with the blue signs are soul shops! You skipped some when you had low gold but alot o souls so think this info might be good.
Is it just me or do melee runs feel 10x harder than range/magic now?
They do feel more underwhelming yeah but there is a patch coming that buffs all melee weapons
The kwy is to get “melee” tagged weapons that actually have long range 😂
It depends, I just defeated one of the true final bosses with a dagger, phase 2 lasted less than 1 second 😂
i think you mean str cuz melee is op as shit lmao as long as its a dex or int melee weapon
I feel like melee needs a million things to go right but ranged/magic don't. Magic seems easiest to me.
This run was bullshit and oppressive all over, lots of stuff just pushing you down yet you somehow dodge through most of it with pure skill and elbow grease. Absolutely impressive. Hopefully you never touch this much bullshit again!
love this game and ur content so much keep it up man
That was impressive as hell gd gj
19:12 - It's you, Reto. You're overtuned. Reto OP, plz nerf.
Yes please more!
Damn, you sir are a beast
Could you try this out, so if the ability where if you use melee or range weapons and you have a chance to cast non channeling weapon, could you have multiple weapons in your inventory like the obliteration wand, the wisp wand, and a few others, becausw if so that'll be busted, ik your busy but that could be a cool idea
Shops with white/blue signs use souls instead of gold
Aghh the curses!
Retro, your in a band?
More of this
cant believe i broke the 666 likes 🤪
first
feel like 16 + 4 is 20 and not 32 but maybe I'm proven wrong in the end. I am. ^_^
He said he’d do it twice and never have to do it again
you are proven wrong in the end yes. I had a cinder sum streak of 18.
