- I went to do an oil change on my Mondeo ST220 but My Son had my key tools so it went downhill from there. I decided to get an old strap lawnmower out and see if I could turn it around to give to my daughter up in Scotland.

One of the nicest push mowers I've ever gotten, came from a scrap yard. It was an industrial 22", and for being 20 years old, was well maintained. I liked working on that one as it was simple to work on.

If you have a Jack that you carnt get under the car. Drive the car over a brick or a block of wood to give the Jack clearance then you can use the higher trolley jack
Yes, I knew that but after am hour of faffing and not needing to remove the wheel, I didn't need to
I find that a set of good old fashioned ramps are perfect for oil changes , undertray removals, etc ,etc, safe and very quick ( especially on front wheel drive cars).

Martin, I feel your pain when things go wrong with the car. I can change the engine oil and transmisison fluid on my Volvo XC90 without jacking it up (the joys of SUVs). The lawn mower will do Tracey a good turn. I recently dug out my lawn mower and I managed to get it going without too much trouble. They're so easy to work on.
