i recommend making a print out with the characters (like a picture of them, their job, their familial connections) cause even if this was in your native language, there are just SO many characters. and more get introduced as the show goes on. so i recommend having a “cheat sheet”, so y’all can easily keep up with who is who haha
Still the best casting of any show with multiple characters at varying ages. TRUST THIS SHOW. It was planned and written as three seasons, and everything that matters is resolved. You can watch it multiple times through and never stop discovering. Now that you’ve begun to air it, I already want to rewatch it.
Easily the best casting I've ever seen on screen. It's unreal. And it's incredibly satisfying to rewatch the series and catch all the clues/foreshadowing that you missed the first time. Everything was definitely planned out in advance. Extraordinary achievement in writing and execution.
Nice! As a German I‘m so happy we at least have this series that can actually compete with american / international Movies and series in terms of visual effects and storytelling😂😂😂
My favorite show of all time!! One of the highest rated shows on IMDB as far as episode ratings and also series finale rating. You won't regret watching this, trust!
Don't mind when others join for reactions but it's extra nice to have the OGs back. Also Dark is one of the best shows I've ever watched and my excitement to see how it hits for you all is off the chart.
When I started watching DARK I thought the same - "very interesting show", but in no time (around episode 4) I was mind blown. This show is an absolute masterpiece in writing, directing, acting, casting (!).
There are some very little things the show expects you to understand, which the German audience does. So I will occasionally tell you stuff that might have gone over your head as the show will not really explain these things. These things are minor and not a spoiler at all (since, again, the show expects you to understand anyway) The wrapping of the chocolate bar Ulrichs Mom found in the forest is that of a bar called Raider. But the chocolate bar Raider got renamed into Twix in 1991, so the chance of finding an actual Raider wrapping in 2019 is basically at 0%
The creators of Dark actually got signed on to make a new show for Netflix thats currently in the works. Its an adaption of a popular thing though and not their own story, but it seems very much up their alley. Its called something is killing the children
@@GooMoo-Yippee yes. it has a partial conclusion even if you want to know more about the big plan. its like watching a semifinal...you sure would like to watch the final too but the semifinal it's something that has a beginning and an end
Few things to consider :- 1. Considering the large number of characters, using pen and paper can be a useful way to keep track of them. 2. Paying close attention to detail can be very rewarding as the series progresses. 3. To avoid spoilers, it's recommended to stay clear of online discussions until you're caught up. 4. An online resource exists that provides a family tree based on episode order. If you find this helpful, feel free to utilize it.
The biggest thing to keep in mind with this show is to remember that, as the viewer, you are not the driver here, you are the passenger. The show will give you answers, but it will take its own route there... if you sit back and just enjoy the ride and let it take you where it wants, you'll enjoy it more than trying to "steer" the show by outsmarting it and guessing at where it wants to go. Also the most important thing you can do is learn who all of the characters are (this tends to take a little while, tbh) and how they are related to one another.
You are describing what bo and Jantje called "letting the show wash over you". Jantje made sure that the people who chose to do so are kept up to speed. But they put enough clues into it so that every mystery can be solved ahead of time. So there is at least two ways to watch this show.
Highly disagree that reactors should be manufacturing surprise if they think about things, see things, or theorise. It is up to them how they watch and enjoy the show whether they choose to theorise or just not think and let the reveals happen. Likely they'll be somewhere in the middle but it's up to them.
Oh no this is a brand new reaction? I'd already been sold and all settled in to binge you guys reacting to the whole series! Guess you've warned a sub and then lol, now to deal with the curse of waiting for the next episode
LOL! The way Blake was offended to the center of his soul about that clock-reading question. You would've thought Igli said all golden retrievers are ugly or something.
The Rain is actually Danish, not German. Had to say it as a Dane myself, always bugs me when people mix up European languages xD That said, DARK is amazing, you're in for a hell of a ride!
Kudos for sticking with subtitles over shitty dubbing. Y'all need to spend less time speculating on what might happen and focus on events as they unfold in front of you. That's especially true in high concept material and even more especially true while reading subtitles for high concept material. You risk becoming hopeless confused.
this! its why ive lost interest in dark reactions lately people spend so much time speculating/ trying to figure everything out during episodes that they really can't appreciate what is actually unfolding they just want to hurry up & figure everything out instead of being led there organically missing all the masterful nuance in dark
Yes this is definitely not meant as a criticism as its VERY easy to speculate with this show. The show WILL give you the information you are intended to know at any point, and the best way to speculate for the show is to create a mental box around what the show has told you and shown you and try to stay in that box. Once you start going outside of it, its going to get real messy and you'll probably end up confused and disoriented a bit and have to reel yourself back on track. The show doesn't play tricks on the viewer, but it does respect the viewers intelligence.
@suddenimpulse030 Could u plz explain, when the entry point for the spiral was I know it has to do with the professor and the insertion of noah, but I can't get my head about the starting point of the whole series to begin with

on subtitels as a hint for season 2: Make sure you're still using the regular "English" subtitles (from Netflix) when you reach S2E1 - Netflix tends to auto-change them to "English [CC]" at that point, and they're less accurate (based on the English dub script IIRC).
YAY! You're doing one of my favorite shows! I hope you all are ready for this. Take a LOT of notes and, no offense, but try and keep up. It messes with your brain! In a good way.
It's a little on the nose but this show is legitimately _dark_ most of the characters barely smile at all, and when they do it has a darkness behind it. There is a single long-running joke through the series and I'm looking forward to you guys slowly learning what it is XD

@@RaggedyPack Not sure if you guys or your audience are alright with doing so or if you just want to go "natural" but theres a useful official website for keeping track of things and it filters out any information beyond the season and episode you picked at the bottom of the screen. Once a week? I hope you start taking notes because going so long between episodes might add to your confusion. Season one is fairly easy to follow as long as you pay attention. Season 2 it gets trickier and Season 3 is confusing for almost everyone.
There is a really short German show called We Are The Wave based on a real life event in Palo Alto CA. I got super invested in it for reasons that I can't say because it will spoil and I was sad to learn that Covid interferred with it continuing. BUT, I'd still recommend it because it causes good discussion.

A bit of caution though, you'll need notes to follow, as the story is gloriously complex. Pay attention, because the rabbit you boys are going down is a trip and then some. ENJOY!!!
What? I was so happy when I saw the video. Are you watching DARK? I'm excited. Whenever someone somewhere is finished with the show, another channel starts it. ♾️
Welcome to DARK. If you consider using the official guide, remember to always choose the episode you have completely finished watching and never the one you are currently on. Also, note that when you progress to season 2, Netflix will switch automatically to the Englisch CC subs instead of the proper English subs (that is because for season 1 they have German CC subs instead of English CC subs). The CC subs/the dubbing book are/is often lacking in what the characters want to say due to lip syncing and some maltreated idioms. Also, one scene featuring some French lines is only subbed as "[Speaking French]" for no reason whatsoever. You were very much confused about Jonas' father showing up in the end as nobody remembered that Jonas was talking about that with his therapist... so it is questionable whether he was there or not.
Oh and since there are already people telling you how to react to this: Jantje Friese and Baran Odar created this show with different audiences in mind. One could "let the show wash over them" as they phrased it or try to solve the mystery themselves. They left a lot of hints and breadcrumbs for those to pick up who would like to do the latter. So those weirdos who tell you that you discuss and theorize too much, they want you to not solve it yourselves. But that should be up for you to decide. Later there is even an incident where those weirdos claim that the show was spoiling itself. (Which is not possible.) But the scene that is allegedly spoiled was simply put in for those who parts of the audiences who didn't get it the first time. So again that is a question of letting it wash over you or picking up the clues.
I follow other reaction accounts, and when they watch DOUBLED series or movies I TELL THEM I'M VERY SORRY BUT I DON'T WATCH THEM BECAUSE IT'S NOT THE SAMEEEEE!
I know i'm watching the right reactors when i get a code lyoko reference and a scary godmother reference 😂 i haven't seen the show so i'm watching it with them, so far so good, i'm excited 🥳
