I bring about 5 of the 2 liter coke bottles and put a little g-juice in each bottle and shake it up and freeze them. When I put a bottle in I remove the cap and as it cools it leaches g-juice in to the water. I replace a bottle about every two hours
The best way to protect the resource is to eliminate traditional weigh-ins. Avoid the ridiculous mortality rate. Avoid traveling fish, especially those that are caught off beds during spawning. Catch the fish weigh it in the boat and release it immediately.
Love my old girl, an 01 Triton TR21. She runs great and I don't have to worry about every little knick or scratch. I also don't feel like I have to rub her with a diaper after every trip.
Bass Tracker with 75hp. Its all i need and what I can afford. I like that I can get in shallows where some of the bigger glass boats have trouble going yet I feel safe enough on larger lakes like okeechobee. That said, I'd love to have a Basscat. Just can't justify the price since I'm not a pro, I just love fishing.
I have never been in a Bass Cat. I had a couple of friends who owned them, but sold them because they felt they were not very stable at wide open throttle. Both of them went to rangers. I own a Charger myself.
Polar kraft Gamefisher 1436 jon boat. Just a trolling motor for now. Also have a kayak but I need a bigger one than the 10ft pelican as im 6'3 and 220 I can fish but not really how I like.
202 Champion. Champions are the Cadillac ride of bass boats. The additives seem to be a waste if your periodically refilling with fresh lake water into the live well. If it’s closed off I can see their use.
Appreciate the tips man👍🏼 I’m running a 2021 Tracker Pro Team 175 Tournament Edition, and as we all know how Trackers are, when you get one you’ve gotta lot to do and extra accessories. Long story short I took my little boy bank fishing one day, and it was the first time I’ve been in years and years, anyway we both caught the fever. I bought a old Tracker to start with and started running into all kinds of electrical problems so I sold it made a little a got a new one. I ordered mine with Vinyl flooring, cause I’m just not in the best of shape like I used to be and don’t want to scrub carpet, and I really like the vinyl, had to go back I would’ve got Sea Dek. But I’ve been looking everywhere for closed cell insulation to go under the bottom of my compartment lids, especially the livewell lid and can’t find it yet, but I will somehow. I use the G Juice, and I rigged up a small oxygen tank and crack it open just enough to where you see the air bubbles coming out, like you’d see in an aquarium or something, and I use the recirculating pump with the ice bottles.. As soon as I find that closed cell insulation I should be fine. I would like to install me a small light in mine like you have, man I’d love to have a Bass Cat.. or even a Phoenix, but I’m just happy with what I have, as long as my son is happy I’m pretty much happy, you can’t get that time back with your kids, and they’ll remember it forever. Right now I’m his teacher trying to teach him the best way possible to have respect for the fish and more especially respect for other fishermen on the water.. The best upgrade I’ve made so far for mine is an Hummingbird Ultrex with built in Mega Down and Mega Side imaging on the foot of it.. Now I’ve gotta save up for two Humminbird Helix’s for a one boat network..
So you fill your livewells with outside water every 5 minutes all day during the summer months as well as run your aerators non stop right? Do you leave your over flow open or do you plug it inside your livewell? Reason I’m asking is I have always just run the recirc pump all day but not allowed any outside water in through the the day. From what I’m gathering you do and if so I’m going to give it a try. Timers on my boat aren’t working so I do it all manually
Dee Jeff Driscoll of Texas Parks & Wildlife, his studies show that NOTHING on the market increased O2 levels, not aerator pumps, not even an oxygenator. The ONLY way to increase O2 levels is by adding oxygen. Go on their website & they have the plans for installing the O2 system & it’s actually pretty affordable. My 30# bottle last me an entire tournament season. It’s only needed in water temps above 75 but I use it regularly.
Instead of using frozen bottles of water, use salt water instead (just add salt to the water and keep the bottle tightly capped). Salt water freezes at a lower temperature and will therefore remain frozen/colder much longer in your live well.
co-angler in a basscat lake Texoma Costa series, asked was the boat as fast as advertised,my pro said get ready to eat bugs!took 30 minutes to clean my glasses and teeth
Have the 2020 Ranger Z185 with a 150 Mercury. If I could go back to early 2020, I would give the BassCat a serious look. Ken Smith shed a lot of light on the differences in the brands with his boat search series.
I have fished in a BassCat but it was years ago when I was a kid. I currently have a 22 foot Blue Wave Bay Boat I’m hoping to get a Bass Boat in the next couple years. I’m still gonna keep the Bay Boat

Good stuff and thanks for your tips! I run a Skeeter I-class.

1992 Cajun 1650 Travis Edition
Brand new Cat is my dream boat! I have a 12’ Aluminum Gregor currently!! Caught a lot of fish out of my Ol girl!!
I’ve been in several Bass Cats and think they are one of the better boats on the market. I have a Triton
Regardless of the brand boat just run the live well continuously. Here in the north east the water seldom gets to 80 so I don’t have to use ice.
Polar kraft Gamefisher 1436 jon boat. Just a trolling motor for now. Also have a kayak but I need a bigger one than the 10ft pelican as im 6'3 and 220 I can fish but not really how I like.
