I want a Destiny 3. My main reason for it is to get a far better new light experience. I could careless if I have to re-grind everything all over again, grinding with friends is far more fun than having everything and being alone in the endgame.
As a player since lightfall im beyond stoaked for a Destiny 3. Ive missed 10 years of this game, and I literally feel it every time I play. For new players and being able to grow the game I think a new Destiny is the best option.
TBH no classes sounds nice but id love if you started out as a class. then you got to learn everything else later. Just not too much later. Like there are 3 different paths to start with then you "graduate from your class" and are able to use whatever. Like the midway point of the campaign or something you unlock everything.
I hope they keep the three classes as each class have their unique appearance, jump style, characterisation and personality. I like the idea of combining certain elements and abilities with other classes like what if hunters could have sunspots or Titan could Icarus dash or warlocks could summon a oversheild rift. I think they should keep to all 3 classes maybe introduce a fourth character that combines some things from warlock, Titan and Hunter as a play test and beta test for players to try,

This is a big distinction, because it isn't confirming one way or another that we win the battle and could still very well lose. Luke's statement also doesn't confirm necessarily a Destiny 3 as the phrasing could be also interpreted to mean the immediate episodes followed by the next saga of Destiny 2, remember they've previously and at current made it quite clear Destiny 2 isn't ending and if there were indeed to be a Destiny 3 it contradicts the former.

Furthermore when he says what's "next" after the Witness his clearly referring to episodes, but he also says " and beyond" which is the part people are clinging to as a confirmation to a D3 when realistically that could imply anything.
Destiny 2 is an old game and wasn’t meant to have this much content in it and one of the reasons content gets vaulted. This game came in 2017 and we’re now in 2024, that’s 7 years. Destiny 3 won’t come out until maybe 2026/27. This would make Destiny 2 a 9 or year 10 game. Companies make new products to increase graphics, update the engine and evolve the game. I’m sorry but Destiny 3 is inevitable.
Destiny 3 is dumb, and the people who want it are addicted to grinding. Why would they have three different live service destiny games running all at once? Destiny, Destiny 2, and Destiny 3. It makes more sense to have one game called Destiny, but with an upgraded engine. Two, do people seriously want to start all the way over so they can take all the exotics, build variety, content out the game so they can complain about having nothing to do at launch, that's stupid and downright backwards if you want a good free to play model.
Same, I would rather have a direct engine update and instead of split games a hub of sorts. Like all of d1 and d2 as well as future content in the same game
I think the system they need to implement in Destiny 3, speaking selfishly while also maybe having a sense of reward factor for people playing the previous game (if not both games), have a sort of availability for people who played Destiny 2 and/or purchased all the expansions throughout its lifetime with Ciphers for Exotic gear/weapons only available on Destiny 3, or another idea would be to transfer some gear/weapons which would have been carried over into the next game so that rather than having to re-grind to re-obtain, one would just link the accounts and have instant access to these items. Starting fresh gives a fresh run in any game that much is true, but with a thought that there will indeed be a next Destiny, people who have been around Destiny 2 since the start and had actually purchased every expansion at retail pricing (me being one of those), I think it would only be fair to introduce a system of reward == support. That said I also know that destiny 2 will probably stick around for many years after the release of another Destiny, just like Destiny 1 has, so it won't really be limiting on everyone else if they choose to stick to playing previous Destiny games rather than buying into the new one. But having an incentive to reward people into having a jumpstart into the new Destiny would attract more players and I'm sure of that.
I've played since day one D1 and from a technical standpoint nothing should carry over, we don't want another D2 launch. there's also a lot of new players let them level up to everyone's level. the guardian saga may be over the 10 year plan will be complete with the final shape, so why not start fresh with new content and new possibilities. Bringing old gear in also restricts creativity and new possibilities for different types of gear. Now rewarding previous dedication is a great idea but i think they should restrict that stuff to cosmetics only, we all know fashion is peak end game.
These guys have a very privileged place in the game and you can tell by how they talk. Losing everything in they got D2 doesn’t mean jack shit to them because they have Legions of Fans who will help them get everything in D3 the second it drops. When the new Final Shape Raid comes out, they will have 30 Clears by day 2, I will have 0 or 1. I actually had to put in effort into getting my gear with subpar rude random-match teammates, so honestly I’m not very thrilled at the idea of losing everything once again. If D3 happens and it’s a reset then I’m quitting the Franchise.
Wanting to leave destiny after final shape doesnt necesarily mean we want it to die, it can also mean that after 10 years, we are ready to say goodbye. It could be any reason, but from me, its because of life. Some of us started this adventure when we were becoming adults and 10 years later we have more responsibilities in our personal lives, meaning we don't have the time that is required to thoroughly enjoy the game. I wish bungie a great future ahead to never restrain creativity in fear of budget cuts. Dare to give 100% every day. So long, and thanks for all the fish. Lol

The current state of d2 with years under its belt and still no end the rampant bugs in the game, no dedicated servers, and the blatant nerfing to top % player playstyles(AE)…… I’m done. Second runner ups are: pvp catering to casual players by buffing less skillful weapons, reskin or recycled content, and lack of new pvp maps. I’m sure plenty of people want to say sbmm…. but I’d rather have pay to play separated from free to play lobbies. Keep the cheaters out of the pay to play lobbies at all cost. You bought the season, okay, we put you into connection based lobbies and we keep out cheaters. You want no xim/cronus/hard cheat/macro we got you. Money talks man, mine decided it wants to go where it gets the respect it deserves

Probably something to do with prismatic, they could say it let the guardian use mixed subclasses and then they moved on to going across classes
I don’t like the idea of getting rid of classes, they are tied into the identity of the franchise.
