Self ordering stations are a lifesaver for me and I missed them so much after coming home from Korea. Also that meal is so cheap for such good quality food! Im basically using this series to create a saved list of places I could eat when I go back. I really appreciate this series!

I have to say Xander does not make me want to eat food. He eats a little too delicately. Haeppy on the other hand, devours his food as if it was his last meal sometimes which is freaking awesome! And hilarious!! If he really likes something it is really obvious.

Actually, I heard that saemaeul sikdang in Hongdae allows foreigner to dine in alone but I'm too afraid to try. It is a real kbbq place.

This couldnt have come at a better time! I usually travel to korea alone. I meet up with friends there for many a meal but every single time..kind of not realistic as xander pointed out. Definitely keeping up with this series for my next trip in Jan!

This was the place for tonight. Your spot on! Amazing food and super nice. Went with your sauces. BTW they take a break (close) from 3pm to 4 pm. That was good to find out at 3:20. It was worth walking around for a while.

Profit. The way most korean restaurants work with their unlimited side dishes and use of gas, it's hard to make a profit with just a single serving

Koreans eat samgyeopsal on a day when there is a lot of fine dust.
Because korean believe samgyeopsal helps remove fine dust.
The saying that samgyeopsal helps remove fine dust is a myth, but it is not true.
But it's very delicious and it goes well with soju(korean famous liquor).

For someone who has yet to travel to South Korea, is it really difficult to find restaurants to eat alone?
Yes and no. There's a lot of different types of food that you can have alone. We're starting the series off with foods you normally are not allowed to order single-person servings for. The reason behind this is financial: most place have very thin margins so they require a minimum order of 2-person portions. If you are fine with buying 2-person portions, then u can eat at any restaurant you want!

2. I hate smelling like food when I leave. Subway makes your clothes smell immediately.

Yes! That is great. Im glad they do have a place where one can eat. A person who does not eat much will benefit from that as well. That is cool, but Korea needs to work on socializing more. Too easy for a quiet lonely person to just order and not be seen or heard. Thats kind of sad.
