This is how I always saw carno hunting. It's fast and has a charge. It's literally designed for hit and run strats and ambushes fit into that perfectly as well.
5:54 that is a pretty good idea actually. People not playing these playables as intended is probably one of the biggest reasons why it's so hard to balance the damn game if not the biggest or only one. So yea I agree, Carno was never really "weak" people just don't play it right, they play it like they would play Alberto, Allo or Rex etc.
Balancing the game based on room temp IQ players is a great way to ruin game balance, which is how we got here. The devs shouldn't be listening to bad players scream about balance, especially when Carno was never underpowered.
@@HelplessTeno Yea drilling the idea of "IT'S AN AMBUSH PREDATOR YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO 3 CALL AT THINGS THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO HUNT" into people's heads might be harder to do but it is what must be done, yes, Carno was never underpowered, it was already one of if not the easiest thing to survive as at least in my experience.
I always saw carno's hunting method as most similar to a cheetah. Cheetahs hunt by stalking their prey until they get close enough to run it down. The prey solo cheetahs typically hunt is small and fast, so they need to get as close as possible before starting the chase. Then using their incredible burst of speed, the cheetah closes the distance between it and it's prey, and trips it using a sharp, curved dew claw. With the prey momentarily stunned, the cheetah strangles it's prey to death via a bite to the neck. The only difference in hunting method I see here is carno's inability to perform sharp turns like the cheetah can, and the fact that carno generally hunts larger prey that's slower than it. As for tripping with the dew claw, I see that as analogous to carno's charge. A quick move that leaves the prey momentarily stunned so the predator can go in for the kill Stuff like this is why I hope they add a bite grapple for most carnivores, like cats going for the throat, inspiring players to use ambush tactics more often and increasing immersion, since you have to _hunt_ your prey instead of fighting it.
I called carno an ambush predator and people insist on it being a pursuit predator even though the only way to really kill anything is to surprise them
Honesty, carno is a glass canon, it may be the only in land main predator but it won't compare to the other carnivores coming to the game. Carnos health is like glass so ambushing as it is the best way
I don't think people understand that pursuit predators need to ambush too Like a cheetah still needs to stalk a gazelle, the element of surprise is very important in almost any hunt
Bro I got into a whole argument with people in isle feedback who swear it’s a pursuit predator and that’s why carno shouldn’t be nerfed, like bro allo is the pursuit we don’t need two of them. Carnos charge was literally made for ambushing
@@Riptuh Exactly! Carno is fast yes but doesn't have enough stam to be a pursuit predator plus I'm pretty sure it's ram now does more damage than it's bite
Always a blast watching you fight or playing with you, and I love ambushing. Do people not realize why animals in nature sneak up on something and catch it by surprise. Its effective irl and its effective in the isle. Element of surprise is a weapon I love to use.
I wanna get taught by someone good. I’m new because I’m always too scared to play. But Ive watched your videos for ages. Yours and a few others. I much prefer the raptor videos cos raptor is my favourite next to troodon. Can’t wait til troodon comes out!
I found out some time ago that there are different kinds of isle (or survival games in general) players. Some people just wanna grow their pretty little dinos (or build and decorate their base) and hang out with other players with similar goals. And then there are players like you and me who embrace combat, kills and destruction. We grow our dinos to kill and die in exciting fights. Its without a doubt that these kinds of players would enjoy learning from you if you are willing to teach them
I have a good night ambush video I posted on my channel as a solo Carno I think it’s a good example of how Carnos “niche” is expected to be played once the game gets balanced out and more Dino’s enter the isle
As a Deino player I’m purely an opportunist and I’ve been hunting my prey as a silent killer rather than a 1 calling deino. I almost never call and I wait till the moment is right to strike. However as a teno player I’m mainly solo so I’m rarely out in the open unless I’m looking for a fight and I actually like being in the forest sometimes so I can get a carno stuck while I’m attacking it. The play styles are very different however I’m not a “traditional” kind of person and I always look for a more effective way of doing things.
I'd totally like to be taught how to play this game correctly by you and your group, I've played other games like pot but it's completely different than the isle, I just need to get the isle first lol
I’m with you kav about the ambushing plus it’s just more fun that way that’s why I never played Rex or any of the big dinos on legacy cause I could never sneak up and ambush anything as well as I could the smaller carnivores, I know your opinions on Utah but that’s why Utah and carno are some of my favorite playables cause you can stalk and ambush people it’s just more fun than trying to wage a 1v5 war out in the open which can be fun too but I just love surprising people and it can be more effective when done right, I’m by no means the best player but I definitely try and strategize when I can just more fun with mind games lol
I have 150 hours on legacy (from a while ago) and like 20 hours on Evrima recently. what is drift turning? I find I lose a lot of fights but its hard to improve when I spend an hour growing a dinosaur fight once and die. hard to get practice in to learn. hurts my ego to lose half my fights when I was really good at legacy combat.
I would love to be taught how to actually play this game and pvp better. I have a good amount of hours in the isle but my in-game experience can be best described as extremely passive. Taking a stealth approach and trying not to get seen by anyone. Turns out it’s extremely boring when you play like that! I’d love to be able to effectively engage more and become a super mean cannibol!!!111 to fight the mixpackers
This is how I always saw carno hunting. It's fast and has a charge. It's literally designed for hit and run strats and ambushes fit into that perfectly as well.
It's how it was supposed to fight. It's an ambush predator in real life as well. Or, at the very least, is theorized to have been.

I really miss new content for the game, playing always the same thing is very tiring.

Cool, but now that the charge does literally nothing besides waste half ur stam this doesnt work anymore
All dominate hunters on this planet use some sort of tactic to gain an advantage over their prey. All is fair in love and war
I would be really happy if someone would teach me how to be a good Carno main, please!!!
Poor tenno lmao. They were probably all in a vc and u killed all of his friends. He must be so mad
Lol survival game, only thing to do on this game is pvp
Pvp= food
For everyone not playing carno, stego, pt or deino its “survive the 50 carnos on the server”
why are teno players so goofy
This is a game with 2 buttons. The skill ceiling is low relax lol
