Gears 3 really was the peek of this franchise. Look at that enemy diversity and the adaptability in some ways from the ai. Horde mode in 5 just doesn't hit like 3 did

The berserker scared the hell outta me as a kid. I remember reading the guidebook, yes the physical big ass guidebook, on how to beat him! Waaaay back in GoW1.

I once tested the regular berserker's durability using super reload. She took about 5 mags worth of super lancer ammo on insane which comes out to about 2,500 regular bullets needed to kill her.
The fact that this battle plays out so realistically (not perfectly, but mostly) with the lore and cutscenes is a testament to how well Epic Games crafted the characters in-game.
Is it possible to use regular COG soldiers rather than onyx guards? I do enjoy seeing the regular guys fight. Of course, I’m not saying that this video was bad, it was very enjoyable
I wanted Gears 4 to be that. For the Swarm to not be automatically hostile - maybe seeing some Outsiders actually VOLUNTEERING to become Swarm. Rather than just the Locust with new paint.
They should of given the Berserker execution animations. Would of been cool to see it curbstomping, ripping in half or otherwise pulverising its helpless victims in messy send-off's rather than a 'ok im done now' after downing somebody and wanders off to do it to somebody else lol
I gotta say the gears 3 AI are pretty gangsta but the scariest AI i gotta say is the gears 2 ones I always hide like a scaredy cat when one picks up a sniper
It seems like the berzerker was the only thing that actually turned the tide here. Honestly I would just equip squads with Rocket launchers or anti tank weapons. Because I don’t care how tough it’s hide is, a MAAWs would delete that thing. In fact the rocket launcher basically made the grenade less effective.
This really can amaze you on how humanity lasted 15+ long years fighting the locust with all the different variants they possess. And on top of that to be jumped into another war 6 WEEKS after a century long one barely even a fraction of a time to rebuild.

fr, like even drudges have an animation where they dismember you alive with their tentacles and savage boomers can make their digger launchers literally eat you alive before blowing up
Yo gears of War 3 Ai fighting on what might look like another section of last resort from halo 3 can only be made better if the losing team hears "Mission failed, we'll get em next time".
I just remember playing my first horde game on this map, the funnier part is that I just putted in a higher wave where I got chased by Grinders and the Corpser and that was fucking scary as hell

If THIS was Gears tactics I’d be all in- Or if half way thru the battle you can spawn in, Depending on your class can change the objective. Secure an area, Retrieve a piece of intel or just fight the battle as a grunt

maybe more weapon variety, this was mostly lancer gnasher and that semi fire locust gun. and more npc variety, reavers brumak beast riders armored cantus, everything.

Dude, that onyx guard’s was dope, despite they we’re outnumbered, and destroyed for the berserker, they fought as hell, and managed to hold the line.

They do technically work, hence the blood effects coming off the Berserker, but the damage output is so small that they might as well not do anything

You can’t kill berserker with conventional arms. You need a specific weapon to activate a condition to be able to hurt it
You gotta use incendiary weapons, hammer of dawn, or the one shot which are the only things capable of killing the berserker
you know its AI when they do that little stumble thing when they get shot
Please make more GOW3 NPC battles man, it is my favourite saga.

They're Imperial Guardsmen with a competent Commissar. They still die, but they fight smart and actually kill stuff.
