What a gift America was to soft rock music. Great harmonies, melodies and meaningful music. One of the finest bands of the 70s! And they're still great, despite being one man short in Dan Peek(RIP).
RIP Dan Peek. You were part of an amazingly beautiful ❤️ and very creative talented band. They can still kick it with the best of them! YAY FOR THE BAND AMERICA AND FOR AMERICA, TOO!!
I was backstage on this tour as Dewey is my BIL. They sounded even better in person. Saw them again in 2013. Incredible. My mom’s husband passed in 2016, but we still keep tabs. My sweet niece, Destry is also very talented. She occasionally sings with her dad on “Horse With No Name.”🥰

I was at this concert myself. They sound much better today with all the improvements in sound today. Saw them in the Dells a year or two ago. They still have it! They have a new book out also. Good read.
Americas songs are absolutely timeless and gorgeous with harmonies and musicianship. A nice surprise to have Christopher Cross come and sing Lonely People and even more of a surprise and tribute to the epic Mamas and Papas song...California Dreaming!
It’s incredible how good they sound live. Looking and sounding better every year. Thanks for posting this concert Edu. I’m tired of those who say this band is underrated. To who? Not me and not billions of their fans.
When bands were actually musicians and singers. One of the best concerts I ever attended was America, Seals and Crofts and Pure Prairie League. All in one concert. Good times.
What a concert! All those bands have incredible vocal harmonies and musical abilities...which is why they are great and stand the test of time.....Poco, Little River Band etc. etc. too
@@lengrzywacz8983 Poco is such an underrated band. The Eagles and S&C are household names, but Poco really flies under the radar when it comes to most people. That must have been an amazing experience!
Pure Prairie League, Dan Seals and Dash Croft. , Poco and America are all musical groups that stand the true test of time. Amazing voices, lyrics and melodies of each band. I enjoy each of these groups..I am a 70's era highschool student and genuinely love most of the good songs from late 60's and 70's era. Brandy by Looking Glass was a cool song even though you do not hear much of them now.Sister Golden Hair by America and A Horse 🐎 by No Name are two of America's most excellent 👌 songs. I enjoy most all their songs.
I remember when I had just setup my new stereo system, it was 1972 ($1500) and I had just bought their first album “America”. Sandman was bouncing off of my walls and I’ve been hooked on their music ever since…
Amazing voices, music and longer than life musicians giving their 200% A bit earlier than my time but America’s music is timeless. THANK YOU for uploading!❤
This is truly an awesome concert. Live perfection. The faces and audience reactions show their respect and love for America. The initial rift, the 123 count and the first few chords of Sister Golden Hair brings people upstanding, clapping and moving. Wow!
When l was younger, once l was cruising down the road, with the sunroof wide open, the sun beaming in, and singing Ventura Highway at the top of my lungs, ON the Ventura Highway. It was memorable.
These are the times I appreciate RUclips. How else would we enjoy forgotten gems like these. I am teaching my son guitar and started with "Horse With No Name" , lol. from this awesome band.
My heart is happy/sore listening to this music, it reminds me of the many women in my life, all of whom I have loved and many of those loves were formed listening to this music. Going on 66 years old now and none of them are forgotten
Have fallen back in love with this music. Purchased the CD of this concert and have 3rd row seats to see them in Dallas in May of 2021 for their 50 year celebration tour. Grateful for this opportunity.
I have never heard better sound quality than this this is an absolute audio orgasm one of the most underated group ever........I played with Chris Cross in Austin in '79 in a little pub; right before he exploded on the music scene.....
2021 and just watched this. Not a single phone in sight ( I laughed when the guy held up his lighter), just a bunch of people digging what they were watching. Awesome.
Apparently ol' Rusty doesn't agree. Haha. I'll say this though.... they may not sound just as good as they did in their 20's (What 60 year old does?) but they still sound damn good. Btw, the audio is kinda compressed here so they sound even better than what we're hearing.
This is one of their better live performances. I think on some of the later live recordings their voices were not consistent. Gerry's voice in particular can be rather shrill at times.
@@ronaldmorris3197 Agree. I think Gerry has strained his voice over the years, but having said that I still enjoy hearing them because I grew up with them (so to speak).

@@gypsyjj4234 thank you gypsy
WOW America, what great harmony and memories these guys music bring back to when I first heard them in 1971, those were the days LOVE IT!!!!
Thankfully, I came across this by accident and I'm so glad that I did! WOW!!!! Absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!! What a GREAT sound!!!!!
What a great band!!!!, Their music reminds you painfully what the music and the country once were. Gone forever😢
Yes. I'm Proudly Canadian. Many of us know AMERICA.
I saw them in concert 76
n bologna 😅
@@psbose1 don't lose hope, with God all things are possible
@@bryanshaw2990very true but let's be realistic. I'm so sad of this country and I do pray many times a day 🙏
Christopher Cross is maybe the most under rated guitar player.
Could be, but he wasn't in this band!
Yes
@elfwyatt You missed that he plays as a guest at this show!
On "Lonely People" and "A Horse With No Name" on which he solos on guitar.
They sound fantastic here. How can anyone not like this band?
Coming from 2050 just to say to you that we are still hearing America!!!!!
Thank you for that future update!! 😂👍❤️
Voice of dewey and gerry are amazing.
I'm from Brazil and I grew up listening to cool songs like these. One day I'd like to visit America and when I get there I'd like to listen to songs like these of America. I think these legend band is part of the heart of America's musical culture. Thank you kids!!!
America. The. Greatest. And. Great. Band. Name
From Canada. It's despicable that this band hasn't been near received as one of THE Best Classic Bands. Ever Sad.
Agreed, but in the end, my friend, the music lives on!
These guys still sound great after all these years. Nice job!
No Doubt!!!
@@TednGilbertAZ My favorite "America" song HWNN and one of the first songs other than Beatle songs that I learned on Guitar. Sorry for your husband, I'm sure hes always looking out for you all and, You should be proud that your Niece sings with her Pa on such a great tune! Peace to you all! ✝🛐💖🤗⛪🌹 ☮🕊
@@garychambers5850 - my mom’s husband, but thanks.🙂 Yes, I am proud, but not nearly as proud as Dewey.
I agree just love love this band could listen endllesley an I do
Wholesome, clean, beautiful harmonies, greatness since humble beginnings... Yes, worthy of the name America!
If you're good, you don';t need gimmicks like violence or explicit sexual references. And these guys weren't just good, they were/are great.
Most of their lyrics are music, in and of themselves

Nice!
Better than any crotch grabbing music!!
been following these guys since late 70's , awesome music ..... Love and respect from Egypt .
They should be in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
THEY SHOULD BE THERE ONE OF THE BEST
ABSOLUTELY ! Friend ,it' s true...
Yes,they are minus Dan
Just love these guys!Yes I'm old (68) but know great music when I hear it. Been a huge fan from the beginning......
Rip Willie Leacox. Thank you for all. 🌹
Not making this up 1975 Madison Wi Dane Cnty Coliseum. I am in 8th grade with my first date eve Carol B. Well my old man failed to come pick us up after the end of show remember there were no cell phones back then So here we are both are shivering and cold wet since it was pouring rain Since we were not allowed back in the venue waiting for a ride that is not coming, and then here come the 3 boys of AMERICA. Not sure which one which one asked us (but all 3 stopped) why we were out in the rain told them why we were out in the rain they direct (order) the 2nd limo to take us to the nearby hotel and make sure we get home safe which we did . Never forget it thanks guys
What a great story and memory for you. Those are the times you remember for the rest of your life. Hope you got a second date with Carol B!
Dan Kippert , super story, I enjoyed watching this video over and over again like you do too most probably
Cool! Thank you for sharing!
I was at this concert myself. They sound much better today with all the improvements in sound today. Saw them in the Dells a year or two ago. They still have it! They have a new book out also. Good read.
Wow.
America is without doubt one of the best groups ever. The harmonics, lyrics is outstanding. I love to listen to their music.
Lucky to still have 2 of the originals!
Americas songs are absolutely timeless and gorgeous with harmonies and musicianship. A nice surprise to have Christopher Cross come and sing Lonely People and even more of a surprise and tribute to the epic Mamas and Papas song...California Dreaming!

@Naveen Pathak i love the group band of america since my high school life im rufino cuanan
💯 and incredibly underrated.
It’s incredible how good they sound live. Looking and sounding better every year. Thanks for posting this concert Edu. I’m tired of those who say this band is underrated. To who? Not me and not billions of their fans.
Thanks, I put a lot of care in the equalization 😊
I listened to America only after I finished college, more precisely in 1985. It sounds great! Music of the soul.
When bands were actually musicians and singers. One of the best concerts I ever attended was America, Seals and Crofts and Pure Prairie League. All in one concert. Good times.
What a concert! All those bands have incredible vocal harmonies and musical abilities...which is why they are great and stand the test of time.....Poco, Little River Band etc. etc. too
Eagles, Poco & Seals and Croft. Roosevelt Stadium, Jersey City 1975-76
Sounds amazing. I'm so jealous!
Humble people on stage, thank you America band for remembering all that immortal musical time, still alive🙏💗
I had forgotten how many songs they had. Great band. Loved it all.
Hellk Lucy 👋 how are you doing
Sounds thin.
The vocals are exceptionally good here. They nailed "Don't Cross." Very cool that Diltz joined them.
I am 27, just saw them live tonight, they were AMAZING. Vocals strong as ever. Now this is real music.
One of the top five band of all time as far as I'm concerned
You were blessed to be there live!!!
Wow! We’re going to see them later this month ✌️

it's cool2 hear these...wonderfull band,classic. Rock the best...✌️💪🙏☝️🎉🎉🖐️💝
I wish they extended 'Horse with no name' for like 15 minutes with each guy doing a huge solo! That would be epic.
There could be a heavenly law that this band could be eternal. America the world loves you. Greetings from Áustria 🇦🇹

Wow! I got my first album of you when I was 15 yrs old! I have loved your music since!❤
My heart is happy/sore listening to this music, it reminds me of the many women in my life, all of whom I have loved and many of those loves were formed listening to this music. Going on 66 years old now and none of them are forgotten
Igual a mim!😂😂❤❤
Have fallen back in love with this music. Purchased the CD of this concert and have 3rd row seats to see them in Dallas in May of 2021 for their 50 year celebration tour. Grateful for this opportunity.
Gerry still looking SOO cute! Love this band! Thank You 🤗✌️
I have never heard better sound quality than this this is an absolute audio orgasm one of the most underated group ever........I played with Chris Cross in Austin in '79 in a little pub; right before he exploded on the music scene.....
I'm also agreat fsn of america thanks to jerry and dewey for their music.
That version of all my life is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. Thank you America for some great records ✌🏻
2021 and just watched this. Not a single phone in sight ( I laughed when the guy held up his lighter), just a bunch of people digging what they were watching. Awesome.
Listening to america in 2019 feels like its the 70s all over again. They are still as good as they were when they were young.
Apparently ol' Rusty doesn't agree. Haha. I'll say this though.... they may not sound just as good as they did in their 20's (What 60 year old does?) but they still sound damn good. Btw, the audio is kinda compressed here so they sound even better than what we're hearing.
Oh so much better than the 70s crap!
Rusty You’re a hater. Try singing for the next 45 years non-stop. Let’s see if you can sing better than them. 🙄
America & Crosby, Sills & Nash are my favorites from the 70’s classic mellow rock era!😎😍
Yes I agree and Young too ( Neil)...🙂
Absolutely both are my favorites
Thank you America & guest stars Christopher Cross & Henry Diltz Love " Sister Golden Hair" & All The Lonely People too.
Just saw these classy bunch of guys on 3/25/22 at The Lowell Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts. They continue to display their passion and talent 50+ years later. They really connect with their audience.
Thanks for bringing me back to the seventies gents and forgetting about the worlds troubles for a couple of hours.
I am going to see them in concert in August in Lowell also
Guy
Partage complètement… très peu connu en France
In 1977, America played at West Texas State University in Canyon, TX. First concert I ever went to. The venue was more intimate, the playing was great, and oh the memories!
Listening & watching this in May 2020. America’s music is eternal. It has always been my go-to music to relax my mind. Brings back good old memories. And Gerry’s voice... hasn’t changed a bit. Very distinctive voice & perfect for pop rock songs. Dewey is always perfect on folk rock music. Together they create that unique music only America can deliver. Thank you for your music, America! Greetings from Canada! 🇨🇦💕
There are many fans even outside of the US.
I recalled my memories when I had dates with my girlfriend.
We heard America in my car.
From a fan with no name of Japan. Thank you for giving us a great memories.
They sound TERRIBLE. I've listened to them for a long time, but always the old recordings. They suck in this video. They are too old.
If anything, they have evolved over the years. My favorite band by a L o n g shot
We have been blessed to hear them !!!
Yes , you’re not the only one who’ll turn for relaxation !😌
Love America's original songwriting, and their vocal harmonies, and instrumental arrangements. Brilliant. And their creations still sound wonderful after almost fifty years. A big part of the soundtrack of my life. Thank You!
"Horse With No Name" might be my favorite song of all time. Beautifully performed here.
This is such a great concert! Hoping to catch them this year on their 2024 tour.
What a classy band.!!!!!! The mix is great! and to see and hear America live is awesome!!
Omg this is awesome!!! I’m on cloud nine!!!! I’ve loved their music ever since I’ve been alive!!! I am an older man, but this great music takes me back to the ‘70s. Believe it or not you young’s, this wonderful music played on the radio every day back then. 😂 lol I sound like my grand parents now. Oh no.

Great music and more…
I'm a current college student, and this is the only type of music in my listening library. The music of today makes me sick! I envy my family of the 60s and 70s, maybe a little 80's.
Eighties was awesome too
wise choice I agree w you wholeheartedly
„A horse with no name“ - you can feel the desert and the spirit of a time long gone.
