The comment section seems to greatly prefer the XC90. As an Uber driver, I think the XC90 would be a great fit for luxury, comfort, and driving dynamics. Plus I own a 2012 XC60 with 215,000 miles on it and it hasn't had any major issues at all, so reliability is there.
Just got myself a lease returned 2018 XC90. Costs the same as a new Palisade or Telluride and came with Volvos CPO warranty till 2024. Volvo's are excellent cars and great bargains in the used car market.
The volvo is not even close to a Mercedes or BMW. The volvo gas mileage is horrible, comfort is not comparable, and performance is not even close. I should know, I own an XC90 and have had 3 BMW’s and had a Mercedes. The infotainment system is buggy and sluggish and unreliable.
@@nycupperes this is not necessarily true. I have had a 2018 BMW X6 M for 4 years and just traded it for a 2022 XC90 and this xc90's gas mileage is tons better. Now I know the engine is not the same size as the X6 M, but still very comfortable ride. Also, the interior is greatly up to par and very comparable to the BMW X6M, These are 2 very different vehicles, but they are comparable and I can see someone picking the Volvo over BMW and Mercedes, strictly on the fact of maintenance costs.
Xc90 is the top of its segment. İ own 2022 xc90 b5 inscription and its fascinating! Before i owned BMW , Mercedes, but quality and labour in Volvo better than both. Volvo is king!
You didn't reference reliability. I'm on my 4th consecutive video on the XC90 and so far, the issues seem hard to overcome. Water leaks, supercharger issues, vibrations, air suspension problems, are the expensive ones mentioned. I just wish there was a simple V6 option. I'm looking at 2020, I wonder how far back I have to go to get a V6.
The 4cyl engine is something I feel turns off many buyers driving them to competitors with other engine options and I have been trying to get through to Volvo on this. In fact it's on an article page I wrote about mistakes I feel Volvo is making and I have been pushing on my website and on twitter for Volvo to bring back their 5cyl in a smaller displacement 2.1L version. I have driven 5cyl Volvos our 2005's were wonderful with impressive fuel economy and the newer 5cyls were so smooth and powerful you would think you were driving a 6cyl. They had a great throaty sound and nice bark when you punched it as well. I think this would allow Volvo to significantly drop boost and there would be no increase in fuel consumption due to reduction in boost but I believe could actually be more efficient.
No wonder xc 90 is in a different League but practically , technically , financially & durability with warranties and low maintainence and giving same amount of luxury feel and driving dynamics top trim of Palisade which is Calligraphy and even limited trim i wouldn’t be wrong in saying it can give tough competition with more leg room in 3rd row . Digital dashboard with driver talk and cameras are super duper nice !
Volvo wins hands down. It is worth every penny. I own two, and both are troubled free, and reliable. Hyundai, well, you get what you paid for considering mass recalls, cheap interior, bland design, and easily stolen
I test drove the Hyundai Santa Fe. It's smaller than the Pallisade (they don't sell those in Europe) but the cheap look and feel of the interior is confirmed. I own an XC90 T8 and boy, let me tell you..big difference. The Santa Fe feels like a plastic, lightweight toy compared to the Volvo. The Santa Fe was very comfortable to sit in though.
I agree about the glitch here and there but it’s worth it knowing you’re safe in this car if you (God Forbid!) end up in a car accident. That happened to me I was complaining of the glitches and maybe a week later I got rear ended from a Toyota Tacoma going 45-50 mph and the Toyota completely squished and my Volvo was mostly intact besides a dent on the trunk door. Also he pushed me forward and I hit the car in front of me that car also dented the trunk lid but the front of my car just received minor scratches! That car is built like a tank And I am so grateful to have been in that car when this truck ran into me. And I will gladly deal with the random glitches while driving this car. Btw when the glitch isn’t happening the car is absolutely a dream! The sound system ? Amazing!!
Yes.. i wont go other mid suv than xc90 only... But strictly xc90 mk1 because 5cylinder engine! That alone meant so much... Too bad volvo ditching 5cyl engine on their current new model
anyone bragging about their 2020 or 2021 XC90s.... I pray you don't have the issues my 2020 T6 Inscription has.. I was so excited for this car... 17 months later... I want someone to steal it... 😔 sooooo many issues
major electrical... dashboard turning off on me, my senors reading that cars were approaching when there wasn't any.. radio blacking out... my 22 now is having blindspot errors... keeps telling me there is a car on my right side bloodshot but there isnt.
XC60 is the compact SUV, R - Design if you want that sport feel and look, Inscription for all the luxury packages like massage seats and more interior color options.
Palisade's look is anything but classy. Very over styled and hence divisive. Of the 4 talked about here, VW and Hyundai are not really luxury are they?
That hyundai palasa suv just look hidious. I wouldn't even sit in there looking like that on the outside. None of them looks sleek or sexy. They're either too boxy or just very awkward looking both outside and inside.
I think the XC90 is a horrible SUV. Noisy, harsh driving, horrible infotainment system, beautiful hard as hell leather seats and an interior that's more cold and uninviting than plush and welcoming . Compared to my wife's Lincoln Aviator, I do not think the XC90 is a good luxury SUV.
I think both of you got the basic version, no Napa leather no air suspension, no Bowers and Wilkins no massage and ventilated seat, no leather on the dashboard and maybe all black interior. That is why the price range is between 60000 euro and 100000 , optional extra makes all the difference. Although I agree about the 2l engine noise which is annoying
You must be talking about a basic T5 momentum version, I have a T6 momentum, with the B/W option and it's nice, I admit it can be a little loud on the outside with the super and turbo chargers but it's quiet and drives comfortably smooth. and that leather is a little hard if you don't have the Napa leather but it looks good and it's more durable
I thought the same about the drive but with better tires it makes for a smoother drive and I will take all of your complaints and survive a bad car accident then enjoy whatever else you’d rather have and die in the accordion your car will inevitably become… just saying… priorities… safety over everything
I own both a Palisade and an xc90. Both are outstanding vehicles, but the Volvo is the one that really feels special.
wow i am choosing between the 2. can you say more what make volvo special?
Have you had any issues?
I’m in between the two. Thanks for sharing.
I own this Volvo and it’s an amazing SUV and very safe! If considering the Volvo I highly recommend just get the Volvo ❤❤❤

I just bought xc90 T8 Inscription. Price in Thailand around $ 120,000 . The engine is very powerful.
The Safety on the XC90 can't be beat!
The design of the SUV Volvos are one of the best. Have an xc60, it looks great. Hoping to move up to 90.
We ❤️ our 2018 XC90 T6!
We just replaced our Mercedes glC with an XC90 recharge. The Mercedes was nice, the Volvo is exceptional
Which one got stronger body Volvo x90 vs Lexux 350? which one got more power?
The Volvo is better then all it’s competitors from all aspects including Mercedes, Bmw, Audi and Range Rover 👍

@@nycupperes it really is a lottery when it comes to comfort. I honestly wish volvo could pad out the bmw interiors from elbow rests to the seats.

But if you consider the crash testing Volvo wins every time it’s built like a tank I speak from experience!

Only a 90 for me. 4 of them and counting
Do you lease or do you purchase?

Our 2020 XC90 gives us a glimpse into what life with an old British car would be like. Glitch city.

is the resale value good for XC90, compared to the others on the list?
So the comparison cars don’t make sense. The XC90 is a luxury brand. It’s completion is the BMW X5 or X7, Audi Q7 and Genesis GV80.
Buy The Volvo XC90.

Buy an extended.
Bought xc90 R design
The GX460 has less ground clearance than the XC90 btw, 8.1" vs 8.3". There's absolutely no upside to that awful looking thing.
These are not alternatives for XC90
How is xc90 w/the v8?
I don’t have a family which Volvo should I buy ?

As a male, I just can't by an XC90.
Yeah, I like the XC90 but I just can’t buy one as a male. I like my BMW X5 more anyways since you can get a 6 cylinder engine, or even better a V8
The xc90 has a turbo engine and responds beautifully!!
