@@alzeNL I'm right in the middle of my project. I have some room so it will hopefully help. At current, I have a 60' wide circle with 64 evenly spaced radials. I used my scrapper on my skid-loader and took the earth in that circle down about 3 inches. Used a 12" galvanized stake at the ends of the radials and about 10-6" staples an each radial to keep it secure and evenly spaced. Covered it back up about an inch over, watered it and used a plate compactor. There's a 1" conduit from the shack to the antenna base plate about 14" inches under ground. All that's left is tuning the antenna and mounting it. The instructions that came with are clear but vague. Does it get tuned in position? Tuned on the ground? Tuned off the ground in a vert position (i.e saw horses)? Should it be connected to the radial system when tuning? Is their a setback tuning when down? etc,....?
Thanks for the insight ! I'm hopefully going to be putting this on my other radio as a perm WSPR beacon on the 6btv, will be interesting to see the performance !
@@pd9rd :) i tided the garden today ahead of putting more radials down. I'm hoping tomorrow morning or afternoon I will be on 20M - conditions havent been good all week, but will give out CQ via the 7300. I use a wellbrook antenna for receive with the null facing north/south, so hopefully can hear .nl :)
I would love to see a video of someone actually "physically" tuning the antenna.
with the good weather coming back I'll do some more work on the 6btv in the coming weeks ! I'll be sure to do a video when I can ! thanks ! A.

Nice video. 40m resonance is from the entire length of the antenna.

It would be great if you could make a video on how to calibrate the trap on a Hustler BTV. I search You Tube and could not find one on how to do it.
Very interesting! I hope you going to do some testing with the phone portion of the bands and the 6BTV .. 73.
Yes I will try on 20 and 40 !
@@alzeNL Great! I'm looking forward to see / hear that.
