Much respect to sir dyno I remember being 13 yrs old thinking I was gangster because I was influenced by his Norte music. I’m glad he’s on a good path and alive still to see this interview
I was just thinking how great he looks for his age, but now it all makes sense, the fact that he doesn't drink or smoke. I was never much of a fan of him or Darkroom growing up (because of the side I represented) but I do appreciate his story and its great to see him emerge from that lifestyle! Also much props to the host, people dont really know, but it takes a lot of skills to engage in conversation in a good interview like this. He isn't annoying and doesnt just ask the same old typical questions! GREAT INTERVIEW!
Dyno is still the best Chicano MC to touch the mic! He never even had to cuss on his rhymes i remember being envious of his rap style because it was so original. The ultimate Chicano representative, i wish he would have had better exposure in our day he'd be big as 2pac! In a way he brought DRF to the forefront like a Run DMC of the west! Everyone who grew up in the era knows them. Simon!!

@@jacunknown882 Brother, you must understand that David's change was something that had to happen. God has a purpose for everything we do and David's voice was already great in satans kingdom but Gods plan was to use this same voice to penetrate the lost hearts & mind's of the youth. Look at the things we used to represent: a street or hood, violence etc. etc. Give Jesus a chance and He can change you too.

The very 1st song I heard with Sir Dyno on it was New Revolution back in 1999. I was like, "Hell yeah this dude sounds crazy!" I played it for all my homies and they all loved it too. The 2 Dyno tracks that stand out as my favorite are New Revolution and Kill A Pig.
Great interview Ricardo been looking forward to this interview with David. Very in depth and lots of history that many true & loyal fans like myself can appreciate. Been a fan of his music for so many years and no matter what he does in life I will always show my support. Glad he found our lord and savior Jesus Christ. It’s hard to get everything in one take even though it was a much needed interview. Some things I would have also liked to hear from David were when he mentioned he started a group how he came up with the name G.U.N Generation Under Nation for his first tape release, talking about his first solo releases R.I.P. To The Barrio, The Locote & Brown Persuasion. Before the release of From The Barrio With Love ( Bullet Cover ) that was released nationwide there was actually a original cassette version released only through the Darkroom Studios label that I have with a totally different cover before re-releasing a new version with new songs/artist with Sunset Blvd/Explicit Ent. How Darkroom hooked up with Jo & Chris from DogDay Records, How they became the first chicanos to be featured on the cover of Murder Dog Magazine. Also after fighting the his case for the G.U.N. cd they released Banned Gang Stories that album had songs taken from the G.U.N. cd as well as some new added songs. After G.U.N. The album Cuete was released also featuring members of Darkroom & Lowdown and other rappers. As a fan you wanna hear it all lol but at times you can only get some much. About 90% of the interview I personally knew but it was good to hear it coming from him and hearing his story. I’m really looking forward to reading his new book coming out soon. Much respect David and great work on this interview Ricardo us fans really appreciate it. Looking forward to the A.L.G. Interview soon.

David Rocha Forgot to also mention the female group Str8 Lady-Fied Ginger & Mari I believe they were from Watsonville. They were featured on a couple Darkroom tracks and I believe they were supposed to drop an album as well because I have a flyer with the picture of their CD cover for an upcoming release.
Cardo Mac: My opinion is not impartial. I grew up in SD and by default was exposed to all the So Cal cats. But if we’re setting up a criteria for people the opened up the game, changed it and blew it up: 1) Frost for being the earliest one at it and the doors he opened 2) Toker and the Brownside changing the game 3) Madman (not a rapper) but he single handedly shaped the music in SD and the early stages of Chicano Rap (produced Knightowl’s first album, produced most of Aztec Tribe’s stuff, produced Mr Lil One’s debut, produced the unreleased album for GPA and B.R.W.N.). From 1993ish to late 90s he was the creative force in SD 4) Lil Rob is the face of Chicano Rap, he basically became the main fixture in the game. He blew it up and brought the appeal
I was blessed to get a painting from Pastor Dyno! He painted the bridge from my neighbor (Broderick bridge) I’ll be real, I was set tripping, in a good way tho!😂 He represents Jesus today and so do I, so I had to have this special request. Done by the Ex-Darkroom main rapper. I too use to bump the Darkroom cassette, while in commotion of a felony 🤦🏻♀️ But today Jesus has set me free, free on the inside!

You remember going up to sac main county jail before I got transferred to Elk Grove rccc in 2014 to preach with another pastor from Reno you asked if anybody wanted to give their life to God I said yes and you prayed for me that night in 6 east unit I truly gave my soul to God was a long road but here I am. I remembered I beat my felonies and was released with time served for probation violations . It wasn’t easy but I truly changed I met a beautiful woman now married with a beautiful son and full custody of my other two sons . I can actually want to thank the officer that arrested me .. Truly gave me a time to pause and a time to change.. Si se puede La Huelga sigue.. Esta duro para un farmero pero todo para nuestra raza

The fact that he doesn’t hide... just lives his life... I think speaks volumes to who he is as a man.

That's good to hear your story and keep doing good please keep me in your prayers
Great interview and the host is the man no interrupting
Wow, you did bring up alot of good points that would of been cool to talk about
Hey whats up Jorge. Maybe in the future we can do another Interview. Top 10 Questions by the Fans chosen by Dyno. And I just read your IG Comment. Man you have Gold with that Poyo Material. Maybe you can let me check it out someday. Thanks for your feedback bro.
Cardo Mac Another interview would be cool Ricardo hopefully you can make it happen bro! Of course would not mind sharing them with you to check out.
David Rocha Just a few extra topics to talk about. Just curious about the process behind those projects David. Hope all is well & God bless.
This men is a legend then and now.

His “Mount Rushmore” of Chicano Rap:
1) Frost
2) Pollo Loco
3) Mr. Key
4) MC Blvd /Frank V
This was a hard question. So many Legends out there. I myself have chosen two and am still debating on my final two. Who would your four be ?
Cardo Mac:
My opinion is not impartial. I grew up in SD and by default was exposed to all the So Cal cats.
But if we’re setting up a criteria for people the opened up the game, changed it and blew it up:
1) Frost for being the earliest one at it and the doors he opened
2) Toker and the Brownside changing the game
3) Madman (not a rapper) but he single handedly shaped the music in SD and the early stages of Chicano Rap (produced Knightowl’s first album, produced most of Aztec Tribe’s stuff, produced Mr Lil One’s debut, produced the unreleased album for GPA and B.R.W.N.). From 1993ish to late 90s he was the creative force in SD
4) Lil Rob is the face of Chicano Rap, he basically became the main fixture in the game. He blew it up and brought the appeal
Crazy he does have a unique voice and he also has the exact same name as a friend
Great interview
i still bump his music, mr kee is hella underrated way too underrated,
Real talk
Bro that I.T.P.G album with Mr Kee and Poyo Loko was fucking hard
Exactly
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was blessed to get a painting from Pastor Dyno! He painted the bridge from my neighbor (Broderick bridge) I’ll be real, I was set tripping, in a good way tho!😂 He represents Jesus today and so do I, so I had to have this special request. Done by the Ex-Darkroom main rapper. I too use to bump the Darkroom cassette, while in commotion of a felony 🤦🏻♀️ But today Jesus has set me free, free on the inside!
phyllis gonzalez are u from West Sac? I ask cuz thats the West Sac Gang out in the 916.

I grew up listening to DRF and Mr. Rocha was my favorite, his voice was unique. I wasn’t in to the movement but I just liked the beats and the uniqueness of the music. I still listen to Sir Dyno! Saludos and continued success.... you should make music for the lord. ✌🏼
