This level made me rage quit on veteran, it was already the hardest level arguable imo. But when trying to get to the LZ I am pinched and killed over and over and when Ghost says"Roach I'll cover you..." I have a few second before a mortar kills me, no matter what I do.
How on earth was this playtested? AI with god precision and mortar kill you with one hit by full health! And Ghost doesn't help you ether cause the ai is so bad!
If you went ahead of Ghost after picking up the DSM, the game will insta-kill you no matter what you do, cause the level is broken. That being said, you'll have to restart the mission and do the process all over again...
Once you learn enemy spawns and you save your flashbangs till the end this mission isn’t that hard. No where near as bad as heat from cod 4. I can do this mission in a couple tries now.
When Roach grabs Shepherd's hands and shepherd puts his hands away makes their death more depressing. It really shows shepherd doesn't have any remorse. It's crazy to think he just wanted the war just to be the victor.
Tips to beat this mission on Veteran: - For console players, turn on aim assist and constantly snap your aim button as it will lock on enemies for you, in addition, turn on the hit marker button cause it is a life saver. - When running through the smoke at the beginning, stick to the right and toss flashbangs to the left where the main enemies are. - After breaching and clearing every room, run to the armory and switch your ACR with the M4A1, its red dot makes it much more accurate and helpful in the long run, as it is essentially a faster and less bulky variant of the ACR. - Use ALL claymores and cover all entrances, you'll have unlimited time to place claymores before planting the DSM. - Stay mobile, and turn on subtitles. Listen to the sniper's advice as you will be able to pick them off efficiently. - The final sprint was easy, I got it on my first run on Veteran. STICK TO THE RIGHT AT ALL TIMES, throw as many flashbangs as possible and zigzag when running. Try to avoid shooting enemies if possible but just sprint down the hill. Once you black out, you're safe.
@@goldenirets8930 holo sight limits your vision more than the red dot. There is no benefit to the holo over the red dot unless you just prefer the reticle but idk who would prefer the holo reticle to the red dot.
If any of you here read the comic book about Ghost's background, what he went through, what he saw then this mission will get you even more upset... I almost cried getting through it after years. Ghost was my idol when I was in highschool, when me and my bestfriend would enter a match I would pick up the name Ghost and he Soap. I strongly suggest you guys read that comic, I'm sure it's on internet. Soap also has a diary, he mentions how interesting but experienced Ghost is when it comes to extracting information through torture, like the one where he and Soap prepare Rojas for interrogation in Rio. (If you read the comic you'll see that one of Ghost's proffessions is making bad guys talk). When MW3 trailer was released I so much hoped that Ghost would make an appearance again, because in Loose Ends mission Ghost's team was wearing fire-proof vests, but oh well :( instead we got Wallcroft back from first MW, who is now voiced by Ghost's and Gaz's voice actor
It took me literally over an hour on veteran but here is what worked the best for me: Right after collecting the DSL take cover behind the fence in the front yard. Only shoot a few enemies an use the aim assist by spaming the left trigger. After all enemies seem to be gone sprint to the right hand side. Run in Zigzag and jump while relaxing the stick so the sprint doesn't end. After you reached the last checkpoint you need to still run the same but use flashbangs and the grenade launcher of your gun. I really barely even used my regular gun at this point. After a while this actually worked. You just have to know where and when to throw the flashbangs and stuff.
I just did the mission normally and during the defence of the estate, I shot down one of their helicopters with an RPG and then on the retreat, I shot literally everything (somehow went well considering I was surrounded and also don't use aim assist)
For anybody suffering the RNG mortar deaths every time, from the final checkpoint you are on a TIME LIMIT - if you don't get to the end within approx 35 seconds from spawning you will die. Best tip is to save all of your flashbangs and sprint through the last checkpoint as best you can. I hope this helps.
You should take care of the enemies behind you. And don't go downhill yet when you do that. Then, do 2 shots from a grenade launcher to take out the enemies below, and run in a zig-zag pattern to minimize your chances of getting killed.
That hill part is impossible My game was bugged that Mortar at the bottom that was supposed to cut to a cut screen killed me and made me a restart at the top of the Hill, I probably was on that hill for 40 minutes just getting killed over and over
Okay I thought I was going back to 2009 me raging at this mission but if you go ahead of Ghost running into the woods the mortar has aim bot, don’t rush. Take your time going to the LZ and don’t forget to refill your ammo in the basement because you’ll want some flash bangs and grenade launcher ammo and makes it a lot easier
17:58 this is where it became harder the enemies shooting at from back and front but i throw a flash bang and took cover behind tree and shoot at them and finally it worked.
The one hit kill mortar is a fucking joke though, no way to dodge that thing other than luck. The rest can just be done by killing everyone, but THIS, oh my god.

Then once you get to the mortar hill you just use your flashbangs and make a break for it
