I've said it already but I really want you to notice it. If you want an original drift car you should look into 200 series volvos - they are cheap, durable and reliable and the redblock engine has tons of potential - you can easily push out 250 horsepower on the stock bottom end which should be enough for drifting. longer wheelbase would also make it more forgiving and easier to learn on

to those saying that the tosen is worn or the diff isnt an lsd: torsens do need SOME grip on each wheel to operate. that is why they arent ideal for cars which lift a rear wheel in heavy cornering. when one wheel is off the ground, the diff can end up spinning that wheel. i assume that the tire in a puddle may have been hydroplaning when both wheels were spinning, causing it to act as though it were off the ground. check out the Miata differential buyers guides from flyin miata, etc for the reasons why a torsen can do this
For drifting (or even grip events) try Bauer LTD extended lower ball joints. If you want to go a little more serious theres the Zerek Fab Pro-AM angle kit, Drift Knuckles Unicorn angle kit (little less serious) or for the in between the Destroy or Die modified knuckles and lower control arm kit. I'm using the DoD parts and mother of god it makes a HUGE difference between holding angle and spinning out. Stock angle wont hold too many degrees of angle, most of the kits run about 60-65* and you can huck it around pretty easily.
The Torsen LSD he had fitted has a maximum torque bias ratio of around 2.5:1. Therefore only around 60% of the torque can go to each wheel, that explains the one wheel peel when one wheel was in the puddle! Torsen LSD’s do not ‘lock’ so to speak- they never can send all the torque to one wheel Torsen LSD’s are mechanical and have no parts that wear out, they can’t be rebuilt for better performance.

No, the speedometer picks up from the gearbox (transmission). So with his lower gearing at the diff, the car is traveling faster than the speedometer reads.
I think you shouldve welded your old diff so you can use it for drifting then you can change it to the other diff for daily idk just my opinion dont hate me

You should buy a 240 or a foxbody for a daily once you get a drift car to replace molly so molly can be a auto cross/track build
