The soldiers are called the 'Euzones' and they are performing the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Syntagma Square in central Athens. The shoes are called 'tsarouhia' and have 60 nails in each, complete with tassels. And no, the men are not wearing tights, those are long socks.
Gotta love tradition Greek style.
