The front end paint job looked like powder coat or someone that is better than Robby Layton at painting, lol!

Mike, some high mounted flood lights near the roof above the camper's wheel arches would come in clutch if you got to negotiate a 2-track in the dark and would help at camp until you can relax by the fire.
I had a bad alternator a few years ago. It stopped the engine cold. I drove to work turned it off and it would not turn over. I tried to drag the truck behind a one ton Dodge. Nope. I pulled the alternator and it was locked up. That was different.

Get rid of the electric fans. I had a dual fan setup on my 11.25 to 1 big block and had constant starting problems cuz each fan drew almost 30 amps and with a 100 Amp alternator that never puts out 100 amps your taxing the alternator. 18 " 6 blade clutch fan, drill 4 , 1/4" holes in the thermostat and my clutch never locks up because of parasitic drag, enough to keep the engine at 170 with a 160 stat and better power cuz the engine and compartment is running cooler. PS. As long as the coolant/water mix is below the boiling point a radiator cap is not needed if experiencing a leak, why add pressure to force out the leak faster. Thanks for the content.

You can tighten that bolt up on the inside of your alternator. Just take it apart and it's right there 👍

On the adapter. The one with leaks. Just a suggestion. You could ask Rory to face the whole thing on the lathe. So its completely flat and you will not have anymore leaks. Im guessing maybe 10,000ths off, to make it flush.

Could run beads of TIG across the intake piece and smooth it for the gasket,if that part makes the truck run better. Shocked that there's an electrical gremlin.Hi Justin. Trailer's looking solid.A pull-out tray under the bed loaded with tools,or BBQ etc? With a 2" receiver hitch for your winch, Mike?Could also make a spot on the front 'A' for 1 too. Could come in handy for the 'Deer Pole' while hunting.Great work Mike and Pals on the winch mount and rock sliders!

If you use High Tac gasket adhesive it won't blow the tbi gasket, otherwise you will replace it often. I can't count how many tbi gaskets I replaced working for gm trucks.

Wish I was there, Shawn. I could help you with that alternator, regulator, trio-diode... The later two are what I suspect. Start with checking the function of the regulator. Do you know, is the regulator internal on that Alternator? (I think it is) You can open it up, and replacing the regulator and trio-diode is simple. All you need are some long steel wires to hold the brushes out of the way when you put the two halves back together.

14:54 Shawn says, "what can you do"? FIX IT already! Power steering or not, I'd rather have power steering. Don't pollute your trails with leaking fluids. Then 32:31 How about a voltage regulator? The original truck came with one. They regulate the voltage, so your battery does not over charge, just in case you forgot what a regulator does. $5-10 bucks new or go find a chevy in the bone yard and get one. Go online and get yourself a wiring schematic so you can wire it correctly. A voltage regulator also comes in handy when you have to give someone a jump start.
Sean, that alternator will not work properly unless you have a box of dirt in the back for ground.

Electrical Conduit with connectors is a better friend and Rory owns a tubing bender. That's what I use on my 4 wheeler if i have to go under the chassis. I also use it on my offroad rollback trailer when I rewired it.

I saw a Pic from your Sunday pritchett run. Shawn, you and rory were in the background. Looked like a pretty scary situation. Hope everyone ends up OK, and wonder if ya'll are gonna use it as a teaching moment for your audience. Everyone seems to think that vehicle damage and calling ya'll is as bad as it can get, especially alot of the casual viewers

@@ephjay6t87 Same for Central NM. Like Mike said in the video "It's too hot to work", more so in the direct sunlight. All their rigs need a misting fan installed. Portable spray bottles work good too if you have a cigarette lighter fan. Or just mist your body and drive fast.
