I haven't been smoking cigars for that long but I knew as soon as I fired up my first Padron cigar that they were something special. So far they are my favorite cigar maker and I think I will always have some sort of Padron cigar in my humidor. Thanks for sharing Anthony and hope all is well!
I tried the 1964 and highly disliked it. Was way so spicy and made me feel sick. It was like a habanero in a stick, no thanks. Ill stick to my infused ones.
I always thought with Padron and Davidoff, your paying for the legacy. In my opinion "My Father" has some sticks that taste very similar to the 64. The 1926 stands alone in flavor, truly worth the price, if your looking for a stick that you can really taste all the flavors these two gentlemen described. If your pockets are tight, Oliva has sticks that have that same "oily" look and feel, and are a 3rd of the price. Thanks guys for a great post!
Anthony, your the reason I joined Holt cigar club! It’s a small gesture and thank you for these videos. I just started smoking last May, and these videos have helped me enormously. The padron is my top 3 favorite 👍🏽
The cherry you got from that Padron is actually very common in the Ashton ESG 24yr as well as the Opus X 20yr, God’s Whisper. All lovely flavour profiles.
I was about to say "Road Trip to Brooklyn! " But they sell Widow Jane in my neck of the woods. Looking forward to pairing that with an Padron 80. Soon.
A comment and a question: 1. I’ve literally never had a bad Padron. Something I can’t say about any other manufacturer. Never plugged, rarely needs a relight, just perfect to the nub. 2. I noticed you discussing retrohaling. I’ve gotten into the habit of doing a retro with every draw. Just wondering how often you do this? Every puff, every other, occasionally? Appreciate your great videos!
Thanks! Good question. It really comes down to personal preference. Surely you've noticed it helps you get the true essence of a blend and helps you pick out nuances of flavor, but it's not for everyone. As long as you're enjoying it, do it at your own pace!
Oh man the 80 is a fantastic smoke , my other favorite Padron's 85th , 50 hammer , 64 & 26 all sublime cigars and for me must be accompanied by a top scotch or whiskey...cheers !
I love the way you guys talk about cigars! I’m a connoisseur in the cannabis game and I came across your videos in Cuba when I had to take a break and let me tell you the way you guys dive in to cigars is amazing keep going!
Ive had a fair number of padrons but never this one. The 26 natural and 64 maduro are great. The few family reserves ive had were phenomenal too but I didnt notice much difference from the original 26 and 64 lines… maybe my pallet isn’t sensitive to notice the subtle differences, but im perfectly happy with the quality in the thousands series, 64 line and 26 line… would love to try this one day though
I have a Comancho with the old label with a big "C" on it from the mid 90s. It was a gift. I kept putting off smoking it. Now I'm afraid to smoke it. Would you smoke a 25-26 year old Comancho? I'm confused if its past it's prime or a vintage treat.
I’d wait for the next special occasion, whatever that might be, & give it a go. It should have held up well because the Camacho brand has stronger tobaccos in their blends.
Usually, when something is hyped whether it be a movie or a cigar, I always find myself naturally disappointed. I smoked my first 1926 Maduro two nights ago and it not just met my expectations but exceeded them.. Flawless construction aside, it was the "total package" in terms of complexity and multiple flavor notes. It's too bad this stick is so darn expensive, but for a special occasion, why not splurge? I paired it with 16 Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch.
Why do some single cap cigars lose the cap and begin to unravel as I attempt to cut. Is the cigar too “wet”? One particular brand has consistent issues. Not sure I should mention the brand and blend.
How do I get the humidity in my humidors to come down? In the last two days they have both spiked over 75%. Not sure why. One is 3/4 full, the other is. 1/3rd full.
I've similar had similar issues and managed to get it better. There are several variables to your troubleshoot. What is your location,? The approx temperature outside/inside your home? What type of humidor are you using? What humidification device are you using? Have you recently added new sticks? Answer this and people can assist you. 👍
So this is what I’ve found works for me, I would love to hear from others though. I live in Florida (very humid), I use a dehumidifier in my house near the room to my humidor, I use a boveda 65% pack and it still tries to stay close to 70% so I will just open the door and let it air out everyone once in awhile to drop it down, being that the outside air is lower in humidity.
@@ruukusanla sorry, been having cocktails😊 I’m in the Myrtle Beach area. I have two cherry wood and cedar top load humidors. One is 30 years old, the other is five. I added some new sticks to the newer one, I keep less expensive and flavored sticks in that one. By flavored Java or Acid. The older one where I keep better quality sticks, has not had any new additions in a couple of weeks.
I’m wanting to buy a really nice box for my humidor I have about 500 cigars currently in my thermostatic humidor. I’m want something that is a celebration cigar. I’m willing to pay upwards of 500$ anyway you can help me? I have some really nice cigars but I’m wanting something that stands out from all the ones I have. I’ve had the Ashton 898 davidoffs signature/escurio and padron 2000 as far as the top brands.
It depends on what kind of cigars you enjoy most. Just for a few suggestions, this cigar is a knockout pick, Ashton ESG, La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull, and Opus X are all great celebratory high-end cigars.

Same thing happened to me. Love Padron!!
@DeathlyOath 1964 is great for someone like me. Love that spice, pepper, dark notes. I drink dark coffees as well it's just my pallet
Same here!I lit up a 1964 presidente and wow! amazing cigar!
Bought my first Padron today. The 1926. Absolutely can't wait for this one!
I couldn’t get past the first third! A powerhouse in my opinion.
@@gailsack2635yep same here; was just way to much. and it cost $18
Just prepare yourself for the strength 🔥🔥🔥
Any of the Padron anniversary series became my go to daily, Anthony can attest to my love for these, long time Holts customer
👊❤️

My absolute fav smoke of all times!!! I pair the Maduro with Lagavulin 16 scotch. Amazing
Well hot damn!!! You are a classy well rounded partaker of both stick and libation!!!
PERFECT WINTER CIGAR
Faccia kodus on that sports jacket! Love it!👌

Excellent video as usual. Keep up the good work.
That my favorite Padrón cigar.
🙌🏼🔥🔥🙌🏼 Gentlemen. You have out did yourselves with these pairings. Very classy! 😎
Great video, really appreciate your work on all these videos you do.

Hell yeah. Nice to see you guys 😘 🥂. Quality time with you 🥂

Another great show.
Glad you enjoyed it Mike 👊
I don’t remember what it’s called, but the Widow Jane with Apple staves is AMAZING.

Good Morning 😊 Awesome Video , Cigar and Pour 🥃 Greetings From South Africa 🇿🇦
My sis bought me a padron 1926 for my birthday and I'm looking forward to smoking it.
I always get a black licorice taste with these in maduro. They are amazing.
This 80, and the Family Reserve 50 are my two favorite cigars. Absolutely sublime. Perhaps with something peaty - Ardbeg or Tomintoul.
Great stuff!! I'd love to see a tasting comparison between a similar sized Ashton ESG and Opus X.
A great comparison video would be the Ashton ESG 24yr vs. Opus X God’s Whisper. Two of my fav new world cigars.
I'd like to see the ESG 20 year and either the PerfecXion X or Reserva D' Chateau. :)
You can never go wrong with a Padron.
💯
Since Widow Jane is my juice of choice and I usually enjoy a good oscuro stick with it I can't wait to try the 80 with it.
Yes, Yes, Yes.

I can't taste specific notes, except a fleeting taste of dark chocolate when smoking on Oliva G while fly fishing, so I bought a box :)

Appreciate it , glad you enjoy the content 👊

That is my favorite cigar. The 40th is close.
Idea: Make this one of the cigars for the cigar of the month club members for April..
🤞🏻😂

Managed to find the widow bourbon and the 80 maduro in Australia.
Cant wait

How do you think Blanton's would be with this cigar? Love the video guys!!
Excellent as well. I’ve had it before 😉
Mazz, what are your thoughts on the 50th anniversary maduro? I'm a huge fan of the '26 line and Family Reserve. Is it just "more" of a good thing?
Time for the Holts cigar & liquor club!

Try the 1926 with Rabbit Hole Dareringer bourbon.
Thanks for the suggestion 🔥
Roller about to get busier rolling also the 60th figurado... i expect a run on the 80th as the 60th will be more expensive
Mazz, I just found this channel. Great job. It would be great to join you guys for a cigar sometime.
Welcome, stop by sometime!
This specific 80 edition is which one? It’s called a perfecto?
The blend is just called Padrón 80 years, and it comes in a 6.75 x 54 Perfecto
My new local cigar shop unbeknownst to them incorrectly marked Padron principe cigars $5.50. Needless to say I bought the box 😂
Don't blame you 😂
Heaven Hill, MGP, Dickel
Why do some single cap cigars lose the cap and begin to unravel as I attempt to cut. Is the cigar too “wet”? One particular brand has consistent issues. Not sure I should mention the brand and blend.
The opposite is more likely, that the cigar is under humidified. It's also possible the blades on your cutter are getting dull.
Ayo Pause with the oak on the pallete😂

hi, I'd love to see a Jose Gener review (the nicaraguan, not H. Upmann hahah)
Too bad Padron is way too expensive here in Holland!
Is there a beverage to mitigate the nic strength as I smoke.
Something sugary can help with that, like a soda!
