Thank you Vicki for this great tutorial - I realize this is almost 5 years later, but I was finally able to afford the electromagnetic channel lock kit and just installed it all. The instruction manual is good at identifying the parts - but I was able to follow the video all the way thru the process and it was MUCH EASIER to do after watching you explain it all! I love Handi Quilter products! Thanks!! =))
Is there a video specific to the Amara? I have used the Amara channel locks trouble free for a while, now, but suddenly the x axis was failing. It started back up on its own. A troubleshooting video would be helpful. I took it apart and put it back on, but it's still doing it occasionally.
Has anyone else complained about a drag noted when quilting in the area where the frame sections join when the electromagnetic channel lock is installed? Also one of the steel bars stops the carriage nearly every time I get to that spot requiring me to move the carriage and push it down. I believe my machine is leveled - and even tried dropping those particular areas down to see if that helped - it didn't. When I remove the steel bars I don't have that drag. I am a newbie so thought perhaps after I get a bit more experience it may not be a problem - but wondered if anyone else experienced that.
Chris, Quilt Motion is not a Handi Quilter product and neither is the Pearl Frame. We will not be able to answer your questions on either of these products. You will need to contact the company that makes them.

I would recommend that you call Handi Quilter Technical Solutions department.
My electromagnetic locks worked twice. Now they don't work. The dealership installed it on my machine. I have no idea what is happening..
Call the HQ technical support line and they should be able to assist you.
