@@BensGotWood doing away fine mate. Got out into my workshed yesterday & managed a bit more organising. Hoping to get in again today at some point. Almost there with final set up of it. I've rearranged it 3 times which took a bucket of time. It's a tiny wee area, ( 10 x 5 ), & that's feet not meters, & it's ram packed with kit but it's workable & suits me. If you get around to setting up a channel email, obviously not your personal one, I'll ping over some photos of it. I don't do Facebook, Instagram oe any of the others. Stay safe & keep well buddy
Sounds like you’ve been busy! A small space is sometimes better - less space to make messy, although mine does tend to get in a state sometimes. Yes, I did finally get around to creating an email address - bensgotwoodcraftworks@gmail.com - will look forward to seeing your workshop Jim.
@Mr_Cleaning_Stuff cheers buddy. Getting done & doing what I can when I can. Can't wait till it's finally sorted & tidied, then I'll be fully up & running 👍🏴
Thanks for the nice comment 🙏. I’m not 100% certain as it was a pile of wood I was given for the log burner, but I believe it is Horse Chestnut. I still have a load left and can’t bring myself to burn it ☺️
From my research online they are a lot more rounded at the bottom - if you imagine half a coconut shell, but bigger, you wouldn’t be far off. I was tempted to do that but thought it would be too unstable. I’ve seen some pictures of them being supported by sitting them on top of a circle of rope. Your comment has got me thinking of other ‘original’ types of bowl. Will see what I can find for the next project!
Yes, I thought a lack of a foot and a sweeping curve would make it unstable, but it didn’t, and I really liked the resulting shape. Thanks for the nice comment ☺️
Well done. The bowl may have held on the Cole jaws better if you expanded the buttons inside the bowl. The rim is slightly closed so the jaws would have had more ability inside. No matter, you got through it and completed a very nice bowl. BTW, nice catch.
Well saved Ben. Stopped it from damage by hitting the floor /wall. Nice wee bowl mate 👍🏴
😂 thanks Jim! My reactions aren’t as bad I thought they were! Hope you’re keeping well mate.

@@BensGotWood I've saved your email Ben. Now we'll be able to chat more without it being there for the world to see you 👍🏴

Excellent work
Thank you very much 🙏
@@BensGotWood my pleasure
Quite an interesting shape, would love to see an actual calabash next to it for comparison.

Well done. The calabash shape is very soothing.

Nice catch although I did chuckle a bit when I saw it fly off. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Tony - I got lucky that time! 😂

Thanks Doug. Yeah, I realised afterwards I had it the wrong way round for the shape of the bowl. Thanks for the comment and the advice 👍🏻
