Get yourself some hose pliers! They will make this job a lot easier and prevent scoring of those expensive AN fittings (which can cause leaks). Pretty cheap at Harbor Freight.
Unfortunately these were so dried they basically turned to stone formed in place over the nipple rings. Cutting them off was the last, but only, resort. Thankfully all have passed subsequent leak tests...
You just need to be careful of the thick part of the nipple, that's what maintains the seal. We checked them to make sure it wasn't too deep... Unfortunately these hoses were hard as a rock and it was unavoidable..
You're going to love your A Star.
Thank you for sharing. Keep it up buddy.
Thanks! I see you fly an Arrow, I have my eye on one that might be the next restoration project...
@@AviationRestoration Yes I have 1979 Turbo Arrow IV
Awesome progress! 👍
Great progress!
Glad to see another video, and great progress on the Aerostar
If you think that is poor access you should try changing the engine oil screen on a Mooney. That looked downright luxurious!
it's even tighter under the cowling
Can't wait to see the next episode. Good work!

who in NJ are you sending the hoses to; need to know bc I'm about to do the hoses on my Debonair
Eastern Aero Supply. Ask for Harry.
Great video. One thing your audio when you speak is low then you put music on and it is very loud. you can fix it when you edit your video.
Thank you for pointing that out. I went back and checked and it looks like I forgot to put a ramp here. Still learning this craft!
Being a Marine Tech I am suffering with you in those tight places removing the fuel system . My fat ass would not fit in there .
when you cut off the hoses you gouged the barb fittings; not ideal solution

I was wincing too.
