Fearfully and Wonderfully... Today may be our last...what a thought! I looked up numah for spirit but found ruach: breath, wind, spirit Original Word: רוּחַ Part of Speech: Noun Feminine Transliteration: ruach Phonetic Spelling: (roo'-akh) Definition: breath, wind, spirit Very meaty and thought provoking. I want 2b aware of each moment and live in God's presence. 💝🙏
@@maryannenderi5772 TY! In yet another comment I made here, I did write the proper spelling after having looked it up (just as you did). Pneuma = Spirit, is the Greek word corresponding with the Hebrew ruach in the Older Testament. In Hebrew the word for wind/breath/spirit is ruach, which is feminine (like all nouns for body parts). Ps 110, which is quoted in … Greek/Hebrew Definitions. Wherever this word pneuma appears in the Greek, the translation of it is highlighted with yellow. It has various technical meanings for medical writers and philosophers of classical antiquity, particularly in regard to physiology, and is also used in Greek translations of ruach רוח in the Hebrew Bible, and in the Greek New Testament. No, they are not synonymous. #2.1 Scriptures for 'pneuma' meaning 'Spirit' πνεῦμα Strong's 4151 Matthew to Acts #2.2 Scriptures for 'pneuma' meaning 'Spirit' πνεῦμα Strong's 4151 Romans to Revelation; Introduction 1.1. However, some theologians use that as an argument for calling the Holy Spirit "she". To me personally the Hebrew is of greater validity and significance since it was the language of the Messiah Jesus and the first apostles (embassadors) except for perhaps Luke who was Greek.
I appreciate today's speaker and brother in the faith. Going to look up the book he co- authored. Just found this. Strong's Concordance pneuma: wind, spirit Original Word: πνεῦμα, ατος, τό Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter Transliteration: pneuma Phonetic Spelling: (pnyoo'-mah) Definition: wind, spirit Usage: wind, breath, spirit. 🕊
