Here’s a story of my journey with faith thus far, if you feel like reading- I was raised Catholic and made all my sacraments and went to church every week. At this point, I was very close with God and prayed often and was confident in my faith. I had an amazing priest who was like my best friend and I was so comfortable talking to him and he was so genuine. Our church was closed down about 6 years ago because the township wanted land. Despite the fact that our church was fair and paid all their money, it was just a money game. I was so heartbroken and stopped talking to God and praying and going to church. About a year and a half ago my sister started going to a nondenominational Christian church and I decided to start going. I loved it and I love our female pastor and the people are so friendly. But I began to doubt that I belonged. These people are all bible experts and I’ve never read a bible. These people know all the songs and I’ve never even heard them. I began to get backlash on social media from supposed Christians for calling myself a Christian when I never read the Bible and it devastated me. I began doubting everything, even God. The humans were pulling me away from God and all these changes and I stopped praying. I missed feeling like I belonged like I did at my old church. I missed my relationship with God. Overtime I began to remind myself that it’s not about religion or people, it’s about my relationship with God and Jesus. My relationship with him has never changed and never faltered, the people around me tried to shake it. I am wondering now if all these church changes were a test from God. He’s had a plan and knows I’ll come out stronger on the other side. For now, I still attend the Christian church with my family and idk how I feel about it, but I know God is going to lead me where I’m meant to be in the end
