It's amazing to see that this movie survived studio meddling, it only goes to show that despite the limitations and budget constraints, they had the drive and creativity to circumvent almost all of them and they managed to bring most of their vision as close as possible to the original concept.

I'm glad the film makers took that approach with vampires. The original legends about vampires described them as foul smelling, shambling creatures, often smelling like a corpse.

Have to agree with this assessment, I was SO shocked at how good this film was, and good overall the story, tension, scares and atmosphere just rocked all the way around. The end blew me away and when it was over I was in awe. A real shame they didn't make a sequel. If you're a horror collector, this one is a must for your collection.

One other thing I like about the movie is that it didn't ignore the idea of monsters. It's built into the pop culture of this movie. In so many horror movies, the the concept of what a zombie or a werwolf or a vampire is doesn't exist and that gets so tired so quick when you see the same "discovery" scene over and over again. @@GoodBadFlicks

It's always great to see long time friends who are into filming and actually make it into business. Like Sam Raimi and his group. I never heard of this movie until now, and I gotta say, I'm glad they did a great job with this film. It sucks CBS had to interfere and change a few things that the boys originally attended for certain scenes. I had it when a studio thinks they know more about a movie, more so than the actual writers and directors who know it more and want it their way. But I don't think the changes hurt the film that much. I really hope these guys do their action movie some day! I wish them luck! Great exploring video, man! Always a treat when it comes to these!

I'm not really keen on Found Footage Films, but Afflicted really surprised me.

Great video, Cecil. Even though I usually enjoy vampire films and some documentary-style films, for some reason, this doesn't interest me. I love the concept, and the journey that these two friends go through in making this film is AWESOME. But, listening to the film's details and doing personal research about it, I can't help but feel like it's so incomplete. I feel like there should have been a little more stuff to happen in the story. That's just me, though.

I like the "vampire kills only those who deserve it" concept. Reminds me of a film called Innocent Blood, with Anthony LaPaglia; about a female vampire who goes after a mob boss she only fed on, but didn't get the chance to kill him. 🤔🙂

@@GoodBadFlicks Right!?!? These days, Innocent Blood might be considered a lost classic;; since I haven't seen it on DVD or Blu-ray anywhere. You'd think Shout Factory would've done a re-issue by now. 🤔🤔
