  • Here's a vocal cover of Seek And Destroy by Metallica.
This is what I do everytime I'm commuting or driving around alone to practice, I just put a random playlist of mostly rock and heavy metal and sing along. I don't know what song will come up next, so it adds to the excitement.
I sing in the band 𝖥ᴏᴜɴᴅʀ𝖸. Go check us out!

Hey man that's awesome, how can you get grit in your voice singing that high ? Do you have any advice ?

Hi, thanks a lot! There's exercises you can do to get your muscles accustomed to that. I'm not a vocal coach, but basically it boils down to trying and getting your voice to the point where it starts to break and practice from there. At first it's guaranteed to sound like crap, but with enough practice and not forcing your throat too much you'll get better and better.
The key thing, as always, is to stop whatever you're doing if your throat feels itchy.
There are vocal coaches here in YT from who you can get exercises. 🤘😎

damnI actually noticed I was singing it with my talking voice notes, but it's actually one octave higher than what I was doing but problem is it's way to high for my voice, is there ways to get higher ? will it come with pratice ?

You can definitely get used to sing higher notes. I think there’s three elements to it, they really apply to most things but here they are: first you’ll build strength over time, so your voice will come out bigger and more intense with less effort; as the strength comes, you’ll get more relaxed and that’ll make it way easier for you to engage those high notes, getting all tense is not good, you should put some effort into it but don’t get too strained; and the third one will be control and precision, you’ll find it easier to control from where your voice comes, higher to the head or lower to your chest, to make it sound exactly how you want.
However, remember that strength also needs some control. Just throwing out every bit of air in you doesn’t really work, think of your voice like it’s a tap: if you work on your breathing and try to make it consistent and controlled, you’ll sound tiny at first but you can become a powerhouse later when you can add a lot more pressure with your chest.
      I hope this helps! 🤘😎

Hello Metal Rafa, Your cover is such a great one. I want to ask your permission to use this video of yours because we also are covering Metallica songs with my bandmates but unfortunately nobody can sing for us. Since me and my bandmates are on separated places, we are just recording a video of us playing our instrument and then combining them to create our song cover. If you don't mind, I will download this video of yours and edit the isolated vocal only to be used for our cover. Thanks in advance. Francis (Kiko) Mendoza.

Hi Francis, thanks for your compliments! Instead of having to isolate my voice from this video, why don't I record a vocal track over your instrumental for you to mix it in? It'd be cleaner that way, and it'd also be a proper collaboration. What do you think?
