Sometimes in life, we are in situations where we keep doing what we need to do, but our real passion is something else. One such story is of Priya Rani; she took the leap of faith and achieved her dreams with hard work.
In this Josh Talk, Priya Rani, UPSC AIR 69 in 2023 and UPSC AIR 284 in 2021, shares her inspiring journey of how she cracked one of the toughest exams in India and achieved her dream of becoming an IAS Officer. Priya was born in a small village in Bihar and her parents shifted to the capital city of Patna for her education. She went to a top school and was always a bright student. After completing her engineering degree, she landed herself a well-paying job in the IT industry. Getting well paid and having a well-settled life didn't really inspire Priya much, as from childhood she always wanted to become an IAS officer and serve the country. Eventually, she took the leap of faith, and with full confidence, she appeared for the UPSC. She talks about her struggles, her best approach to cracking UPSC, and her experience in the UPSC prelims, UPSC mains, and in the interview. Priya's story will inspire all the UPSC aspirants to never give up in life and have strong self-belief throughout the preparation phase of the UPSC examination. This is a very inspiring UPSC success story for UPSC aspirants who want to become an IAS officer, IRS officer, or IPS officer in India while cracking the UPSC examination.

Don't get motivated by this and resign your job guys , you will regret it later . Once you lose your prime years , its very difficult to get a job after a career break . Don't get into the ocean without knowing its depth . Its a black hole and whirpool which will suck you in and doesn't let you come out of it . If you are new to UPSC and is straight out of college , please run away and get a job . Even i wanted to work for the nation , put hours into preparation , wrote prelims , mains , gave 3 years , sleepless nights , hours of studies , studied even in festivals , now i regret and I curse every single person who gave me the advice about competitive exam and ingrained the thought in me since childhood . All my blood and sweat went into the dustbin for no use .
Infact I will say , these officers are misleading the youth by saying they resigned their high paying job to get into UPSC .If you fail in UPSC you will have to beg with a begging bowl for a job . Please don't get inspired with these videos if you are a new comer , turn behind and never turn back , find a job .

@@Hoorem Its so misleading to put success stories and create wrong perception about success . These competitive exams are abusing the potential of youths and its nothing less than a time gamble . If govt bans gambling games where youths get addicted to it and loose their money and life , competitive exams are nothing less than that , we loose our entire potential , time and prime years of our life ..
Nobody tells the right information and nobody prepares the youth by saying , if you fail in competitive exams , nobody will give you job and your life is over.
These officers are actually misleading youth by saying they have quit job , its wrong to motivate others by saying this , Just because it works for them , it doesn't work for others
If you take the ad of mutual funds , they actually put a disclaimer that , there can be loss , so take precautions and do it at your own risk , even competitive exam is a gamble . Videos like this will not help India, trust me. In fact these so called motivational videos must be banned. Remember...China and USA didn't become great because of their IAS lobby. They became great by growing their GDP. Every youth of this country need to understand this fact. I dont know why everyone is dying to become a servant of a pvt or government company. You ask anyone ....he says my dream is to clear UPSC. I don't know how come millions of students have same dream 😁. They think it's their dream but this system, parents and society has in fact injected this in their brain.

So no one telling you to prepare for upsc if you want you can but if you don't want to do then consider you would waste your precious time in mugging up facts and again and after again you will be giving exam just to get nota this to it simple if you want then go it's a high standard job that will give you wide gamut to execute service towards people society but if you are preparing for upsc just from outside not wholeheartedly then consider failure is certain

And if you are really serious about serving people then can't you do the same by starting a buisness?? That way you can create the jobs and help the people also. But everyone knows what most of IAS does. They do self service rather than public service 😊

I have never seen someone who cleared UPSC struggle so much to put words together and with such bad grammer . On Rank 284 you can't get IAS unless you are from quota. A reality that escapes most is that if you are a SC/ST from a poor family , your financial situation will halt you to drop and prepare for this exam till you exhaust all your attempts. Only quota students from well to do family have the luxury to take all attempts.
If you have the stubbornness and financial backing to sit through all 9 attempts , you can clear UPSC. Mugging up an old irrelevant content for 2-3 yrs is not something to be proud of. To be frank it is bizzare, people who go to private jobs after being failed at UPSC are looked down upon as rote learners with poor analytical / mental skills.
EWS quota is a welcome move, economic backwardness is real hindrance to upward social mobility.

I hv nothing against reservation of any kind but the criteria of 8lakh per annum earning and being called ews is bizarre too. I am all for reservation and positive discrimination for the disadvantaged but this criteria for ews reservation is as bad as rich obc and SC/STs. It's not a good move , earning 60k a month doesn't mean being poor.

I'm an Unreserved Category student from a middle-class family. I don't understand the reason behind so much hate in the comment section. She is from a normal upper middle class Bihari family but we have to understand that all the Aspirants irrespective of any caste category has to study minimum of 6-8 hours to clear any competitive exam. I have completed my Engineering from SRM Institute of Science and Technology. I know that getting into BIT MESRA is not an easy task irrespective of caste category. You have to study for long hours in 11th & 12th classes for getting into any good engineering college. I'm a General Category student, and I know that students from reserved categories get into reputable jobs with 50% less marks scored than unreserved category.
