- A short waltz song made in FL Studio 21 using a music box, a few violins, and a cello!
i wanted to try playing around with weird things in harmony and like ;-; ;-;
at least when I composed it in piano it sounded really weird, but after I changed the instruments to strings it just sounds normal ?????
i have no idea ;-; ;-; ;-;

I feel like in 2005 playing some RPG for the first time
Hey i was born on 2005
name selection screen fr
so true actually
2005? This sounds more modern to me personally
It feels more like a "Close
Ur eeeeeyes ull be ooook" type game to me ngl
"Hello there knight, you had a long adventure now, rest here"
"Game Saved"
Feels like a save point and I love it
(Just woke up so sorry if this makes no sense)
When the harmony was originally on piano, since the lead melody was a music box, there were two plucky piano keys type instrument, which were both trying to fight for dominance. When you switched it to strings, they were softer and more legato than a piano would be. This makes it so theres more room for the music box to have the lead part. When you put a plucky/keys sound with another plucky/keys sound, it makes it so theres no obvious instrument or sound for your brain to focus on. However, putting strings all together like in an orchestra, no instrument is fighting for dominance (usually) because the lower ends are naturally harder to hear than higher ends and when theres a harmony there its also quieter than the melody.
Anyway thats just my theory but it seems to be holding up for most things ive tried so far.
i agree with you on this.
Studying the arcane with this one🔥
Feels like im in the noble era where people are sipping tea and dancing together
song gives ballroom vibes fr
The library so big that it would take eternities to finish all the books
and the search for the PERFECT book..
@@notidentical35 please dont alert them

Played this in the library, first song the ArchMage hasn't told me to turn off. Wonderful as always!
This is like a file select in past tense, like after the adventure is already over and selecting a file is reliving memories of your ventures
“The library, your library, once to store a world of knowledge, now a gallery for the plethora of past ventures, without documentation being but mere legends”
I love that chord progression and build up at 1:01. The ending feels really inspired too
Your waltzs are always so lovely, like how do you even come up with this 😭
often I use a piano to compose then first, starting with the chords !!
it's much easier for me to plan out a song when I go harmony first and use that as a sort of foundation :0
after that, I kind of just mess around trying stuff for melodies, and if I do something cool, I'll try to use it as a motif and expand on it !!
@@AZALI00013 Oh right! I remember watching one of your song creation processes and you were playing an actual keyboard. How long have you been playing for?
my parents forced my onto piano lessons ages ago, and then I hated practicing so much that I stopped insanely quickly 😭😭😭
and then like a decade later I started learning songs from games and animes I liked, started trying to make my own music, and then here we are haha
id say I have probably the equivalent of 3-4 years of piano experience by now !!
@@AZALI00013Can definitely relate.
Used to enjoy reading books of all genres till parents decided to control what I could and couldn’t read.
It got to the point where I just quit it as a hobby entirely
This sounds like the start of a Journey just beginning. Fire music as always. 🗣🔥
0:55 - one of the best transitions i've ever heard!
oh I'm really glad to hear this !!
I'm very curious, since I didn't consider that transition super notable myself haha
is there something about it in particular that you enjoy ? :0
if I learn more, I'll be able to apply stuff like it more often !!
@@AZALI00013 I think it's about rapid changes of violin speeds, the small amount of steady chords at the beginning of the transition, and a fast, scrappy chords at second part is just sounds so good for me
@@AZALI00013same! I love it too!
Sounds like a really important moment in a indie rpg
Sounds incredible
library of ruina if angela actually found THE book
I've never before heard a song that so perfectly encapsulates the vibe of The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap before that wasn't from the game.
we are multiplying
we are multiplying
we are multiplying
we are multiplying
we are multiplying
HUH
sounds like you're just browsing through the books and talking to the NPCs in an rpg
The funky chords and harmony is definitely noticeable (particularly near the end of the song), although there were a lot more of them than I realized when I listened through a second time. My best guess would be that because orchestral pieces are so complex, we’re more used to hearing weird harmonies come out of string pieces. That’s just my guess, I really have no idea. Great song as always though!
Now this feels like the type of library I can casually drink tea and read spell books in to pass the time. I love it ❤!
Wowwwwww!!!! The music really captures the imagery of the ancient library on my head!!
The melody doesn't sound jarring, but that's because I've been listening to Periphery for the last 10 years and now jarring is comforting. It's still a very melodically and harmonically complex piece that takes you on an adventure
i think the reason for the jarringness (if thats a word) not being in this version is just because sound design and different instrements can affect how jarring it is, like for example the strings are softer and eaiser on the ears even if they have an odd melody
I see !!
that's an interesting point :0
Sounds like something from Prodigy, that one math game!
I love the mideval sound of it!
this would fit an indie game so well, omg
The library is empty but full of untold stories, it fills you with DETERMINATION.
I don't know how, but you have a really unique way of composing, a way that I cant find anywhere alse. Like, who has ever though "hm, music box and violin would sound good togrther" and then cook up an insane song. Really like your music azali!
oh interesting !!
I never thought about it that way haha
although Im not sure I've heard the combo either, I also can't imagine it's so uncommon ? they just seem like elements that work well to me !
i love your compositions so much, youre a massive inspiration
love u man
-Silence, windows full of light, rows of bookshelves. A library, ancient yet still magnificent. What book can you find here, what knowledge will you get. Curiosity never fails ones.
THIS IS SO COOL I LOVE THE SOUND THE MUSIC BOX MAKESSSS
How do you make literally anything sound so majestic . . . ToT
This makes me want to build a bookshelf out of a tree and put only 200 year old fantasies in it.
This is relaxing and something i would play when playing or just doing homework
The music box is such a nice touch
From my experience as a (somewhat) classicaly trained composer, i think it's definitely option A!! i'll always remember a conversation between two music teachers outside my faculty talking about how you can get away with harmonies that sound really jarring on piano, if you play them on a classical guitar. That was my first introduction to the concept that timbre affects how we perceive harmony!!
interesting, I see !!
now I'm really curious to go and study how overtones interact and create that sense of jarringness haha
@@AZALI00013 Nice! Honestly i wish i could still be as curious as you are about studying the technicalities of music
@@ouberon916 I've figured it out since then
notes in music are comprised of a pure tone and what are called the overtones of a sound :0
different strengths of overtones are what cause different instruments to sound different, even if they're playing the same note
when we think of harmony, we must consider how a sounds pure tone and all the overtones interact with everything else :0
some instruments have stronger pure tone fundamentals relative to their overtones, and when this is the case, it's much easier for them to avoid getting in their own way by cluttering up the frequency spectrum
this equates to a sound that's much easier to harmonize, since it doesn't fight itself as much when you play multiple notes !!
also, although sometimes it's cool, I don't think you necessarily have to be curious about this kind of stuff !!
you don't need to know any of it to make music, and if you don't venture out to learn it but still want to, people like me can also share their findings instead >:)
If you only knew how much I love you and your music. Some of the compositions have already been so twisted in my memory that they remind me of the cool times of my life when I listened to them. Thank you for that.
sounds like one of these nintendo games where a museum unlocks where you have to find all of the items in the game
Amazing as Always Azali, this truly feels like entering a great place of knowledge and being told to learn to your hearts content!
I love the leitmotif to Sleepy Sledding, makes the song feel like both are from the same universe
Love it. Your music is always a delight to listen to.
I'd say option A is the case. This is especially true for symphonies because since they have a lot of instruments, there are a lot of harmonizing possibilities that sound good, whereas with only one instrument, there's not much space to work with, so you have to be more specific, especially when you're just starting to expand with your harmonizing.
EASILY my favorite melody of yours!!! I’ve been humming this for hours ❤❤❤
another W from the azali. another song added to my playlist. and the fact that your learning from these songs is goated!
this made me cry thank you azali
this is like the intro melody to a small underated Tactical RPG thats like explaining all the lore in those old brown paper scrolls
I hear the *"sleepy sledding"* motif there ❤
Imagine exploring the library of alexandria in a universe where instead of being destroyed, it was just abandoned with this playing at 25% volume in the backround
i heart musical gaslighting...
Yo I was scrolling through the library for a book on how to turn chairs edible and I found this book about “how to revive the demon king for dummy’s” I think I should read it
the lick is here, kinda. it's similar.
(referring to the one featured in "please help i actually can't stop using the lick")
my pet theory is that the harmony sounding more "predictable" when switching instruments could be a side effect of bowed string instruments having louder overtones than the piano and therefore making each individual note less noticeable/dissonant because your ear hears the weird intervals less when they're all playing together
It’s really nice I can always tell a song’s made by you just from the way the melody’s written. It’s a very unique style!
oh interesting !!
how would you describe my style ? :0
I'm really curious to know what makes it !!
Man this is good, this is exactly what i expect when entering an aincent library, that feeling of curiosity and adventure like man this is good, keep it up azali👍🔥
Found a channel, 2Klercs
Both of you are the best flstudio music makers I’ve ever seen
i wonder what it would look like if you twist it a bit and it starts to become a bit unhinged or some sort... that would be sick as hell
the best thing i heard in a while, nice as always !
The song definitely fits a library theme, it sounds very nice !!! You always seem to one-up yourself with every new song.
This video will be recommended to me someday in the future, this is a meesage to myself. Also this sounds like it's from an RPG game.
I can really feel this, the harmony in this one is really good
Oh this. This is amazing. I am not sure what to say but that was so good. Like I just love the vibes from it.
holy crap i adore your 3/4 songs
Perfect timing, I just had my dnd party in a massive library
Really made up my day, thanks :)!!!
The harmony's a little ominous, but still sounds complete and pleasing to the ear for me.
hi azali!
just wanted to let you know that this particular song really helped me out. I've been in a pretty bad creative block recently for my dnd campaign, its been about like two-three months now. figured id come and listen to your music after a while, and this song just gave me like ten new ideas for next session, it just fit so well 😭 anyways just wanted to say thank you for literally saving my game (for probably the third time now LMAO) and to keep doing what you do! ❤
I've been to a library like once and i can confirm that this is what they sound like
this sounds so relaxing ! also, hell yeah cello!!
I suddenly really wanna read, this is really amazing Azali! It also reminds me of everyday at luna nova from little witch academia, but more from the vibes than from the song itself :)
This is such a charming tune
feels like a rest in the middle of a great journey
Azali never miss with these bangers!!!!
I'm getting a 'big regal library with a massive hexagonal skylight with a starry night sky above shining through' vibe
So pretty! Lovely arrangement as always! ❤
this is such a beautiful song bro it makes me wanna live in an rpg-like world AND DONT BE SAD ABOUT THE SONG PLS ITS TOO GOOD TO BE SAD ABT AIFNENUS
Man this song feels very familiar for some reason... Its feel home
this feels like music that would play while a character says "hello, welcome to my humble shop!"
Gives a peaceful moment eel. Like you just defeated some high level boss and you want to go back and relook what you did to get there. Maybe there'll be some place where you can review cutscenes or maybe a framed picture of some events in a black and white filter. All while peaceful music and the sound of a fireplace plays in the background. Maybe an old man rocking in a rocking chair reading a book.
This song sounds reaaaally good.I like it fr
Obligatory Project Moon sleeper agents rise up to this fire music 💥🔥
This is a Steven universe vibe if I’ve ever heard one

oh what is that how it works ;-; ;-;
I honestly like it, it feels like the beginning of an adventure on like a fun fetch quest or safe adventure
Now this is going to the playlist ❤
Great song
Another all-nighter, another calming azali song. I don’t know if I have said this yet, but thank you for making music. Sometimes these new songs become little highlights of my days.
This one's pretty!!! Good work AZALI, keep it up!
So this is where the great music sorcerer Azali discovered such great power.
If your music ended up in an incredible video game I wouldn't be surprised. Amazing work
gives me those kingdom fantasy rpg vibes! i really like it! good job like always, AZALI!!
harmony feels good! i see no problem with it and the song is also really good! i think the thing about different instruments harmonizing differently makes sense if we think in waves but i really don know xD
nice song as always!
Mario & Luigi type of song
This is so nice =v=
You never fail to amaze me with how you manage to simulate violin playing via the automation, no matter how i look at it it still boggles my mind
Azali: *play musika in library*
old Librarian: SILENCES *snake hiss*
Sounds like something that would play in a Disney princess movie.
I was avoiding RUclips (to be productive), but when I realised you probably posted I just had to come check. Was not disappointed!
piss-easy one-pot(or wok) japanese curry
(4 servings)
ingredients:
2 potatoes
2 carrots
1 onion
1 clove minced garlic
a bit of minced/grated ginger
1 pound cubed beef; i reccomend beef shoulder
4 curry roux cubes, S&B is my go-to
how 2:
oil the pan
first, add garlic and ginger, sear the beef cubes until all sides brown
add onions
keep stirring occasionally so beef dont burn
add potatoes and carrots once the onions become translucent
just let it cook for like a minute or two
pour water (~1L) until it covers everything
cover the pot or wok with a lid, set a timer, medium high for 20 minutes
after 20mins, drop the 4 roux cubes
stir until it starts looking like an actual curry, it should be fully brown and stuff
what a lovely little song.
I've found that strings tend to make harmonies that tend to be much more on the wild side to be much more palattable, in general, to the point where occasionally I'll switch my string channel to a piano to lab out my chords and such. ^^; I don't know if it's because the string sound muddies it a bit or what, but it's definitely something noticeable: some avant-garde piano chord turns into something normal on strings, it's odd...
Ah, the smell of old books.
feel like reading books again 🔥✨
This reminds me of a panic at the disco or the used type intro for a song.
Reminds me of something, wonderful piece
