@@newcity6767 I was there for 2 years from 1968 to 1970, Phase 2 Peace Corps. I taught science at Tupou College, Toloa, on Tongatapu, relatively near Nuka alofa.Lived there on campus in a 1 room fale with outdoor bathroom, shower, and kitchen. I took care of 12 chickens, 4 pigs, and a small garden. Listened to the local Tongan radio station for 4 hours daily to some great Tongan songs. Traveled about Tongatapu with the school band stopping at small villages nearby, drinking kava, loved it! Tongans I worked and lived with were super nice, friendly, happy, wonderful people. I loved my stay there, wish I could visit there again sometime...I am a retired pharmacist living in the San Francisco Bay Area....Thank you, Jordan, for requesting this personal information...Have you visited Tonga! If not you should take a trip there....
@@misswatanabe Its amazing to hear your story and the time you spent in the friendly island. Its always so heartwarming to hear positive feedback from other people that are non tongan. It makes me proud to be tongan. And yes ive been back home and visited a couple years back for a holiday but would definitely love to go back again. Im glad you enjoyed your time there
